The journey, not the destination.

.... becoming legendary was about the journey.... not the destination. Best moments in VOG was fighting side by side with your fellow guardians, to survive with a sliver of health.... not necessarily the "loot". If you have a passion for destiny "or you enjoy reading novels" you may understand my side of this more clearly. My favorite moments in destiny have been helping new guardians threw hard battles... PVP & PVE; the excitement in their voice reminds me of my early days on destiny.... I honestly miss the journey.... now being an old school guardian... I lay around, un enthusiastic about the "darkness" that still subsides amungst our solar system. So "destiny 2", I finnaly get to start over fresh and feel like a young gullible guardian again. I don't mind loosing my "obtained items" .... I still have my memories in my heart ❤️
~ round of applause ~

little sappy at the end, #TheFeels
• The journey was a joke. Bungie has you chasing legendary status around re skinned enemies, and running backwards through already seen areas. Can you really call it legend when most of it is written in third party sites or apps?

  • Destiny taught me one thing: It's a broken child, and it's parents are about to deliver a brother or sister. You have faith in its parents, I have first hand experience! Good luck...

  • I have met so many people through this game. I bonded with someone I only sort of knew over this game, now he is my best friend. I made a friend who is an elite player, we raid together nearly every night. And through him I've met two others. One has become one of my close friends, we talk often. And the last person has literally changed my life, and I couldn't imagine where I would be now if I hadn't met him. I'd probably be a lot worse off. This game has changed everything I knew, even if I stopped playing I would still always remember the life changing part it's played in my life.

And sadly many people do not understand this. They continue to whine about the 'sh*t' game Bungie has created when really they don't appreciate all the good times that it has created. Nothing can top the exhilarating feeling feeling of topping a raid for the first time with the friends you've never met or guiding a newbie through vault of glass- it brings tears to my eyes almost
You can stop laughing now
But still the journey truly has been legendary and I applaud bungie despite the games many faults. To sum this video up, I really suggest you go and watch Badass Gaming's 'Destiny Year 1- What you Missed'. It conveys the feels really well as you coach a new player and become a god in their eyes or the feeling of working as a team to do incredible things. Take a bow Bungie- you deserve the applause. Thank you for over 700 hours of puzzles, awe-inspiring moments and the occasional rages. I rest my case and start to hang up my guns for my watch is ending. Come June I will have done everything there is to do, seen all events through to their conclusion and had my fill until Destiny two releases. Yours truly, A Guardian among many

    • I still get that feeling of nervousness with a raid to this day,but nothing like that original clear of the vault of glass...I agree, it is the journey

    • That journey involved 1. Bugs that would stop players from winning matches 2. Releasing raids full of glitches and bugs just to get the players to pay to test it 3. Nerfing weapons in the sake of 'balance' whilst admitting years later that 'it's what frustrates developers' 4. Being booted out of year 1 nightfalls because of P2P networking 5. RNG being so broken that you literally received the exact same drop every raid for months 6. DeeJ casually bullying random players on the forums without backlash 7. Being hit with problems that upstart companies are capable of dealing with. (ie Optional Matchmaking) 8. Being lied to frequently about 'you can visit that!' 9. Having DLC literally on the disc we bought, but still being forced to pay for a 'season pass' that actually lied about THE THREE DLC'S IT SAID YOU GET (you only got 2) 10. Having all of our progress basically erased each time new DLC dropped 11. Thorn, Thorn, and the months it took to fix THORN 12. Trials of Osiris/Raid on LFG 13. Broken elements inside Prison of Elders, Court of Oryx, and whatever that shitty new ROI one was 14. I'm not going to bother. If you think this bullshit is what made you legendary, you're delusional

      • My character still transfers to destiny 2 and I obtain rewards for playing destiny 1 for the past years. I'm not really bothered that my gear won't carry over however I am curious about the emblems.

Couldn't agree more. Destiny has been a long road, my guardians have evolved as has my style and my preferences. Destiny 2 is a new game that happens to be set in the same universe, we don't even know if it's in the future, the past or an alternate reality. In some ways I can see how people that have invested 1000's of hours into this game want all their things and their progress to transfer, I am not one of those people. In nearly 20 years of playing MMO's, there is nothing worse than being the new guy, when all the old guys are off doing something else. If Bungie let us take everything forwards, we'd all be waiting for a raid to appear a week after launch. Any new baby guardians will be slogging their way through the story and grinding for gear to get where we are... and when they get there, we'll be somewhere else and they'll have a whole new mountain to climb. It is about the journey... anyone that has been to the lighthouse (not me), beaten all 4 raids (me), reached rank 5 in Iron Banana multiple times (raises hand), played on 3 different consoles (PS 3 and 4, then switched to XB1 six weeks before TTK launched), obtained all 3 class exotics from the factions (warlock raises hand) has been on that journey. Would I like to see some form of recognition in Destiny 2, yes. Be that emblems, shaders, wall art, sparrows, house furniture or whatever. But do I need the vault full of stuff, 3 subclasses and all the other guff.. no. They belonged to Destiny, not Destiny 2.

        • Hey it's great to have an opinion I guess. I don't share yours, but I'm not crazy and think you need to share mine. We only have to answer to ourselves at the end of the day. Questions like; Was it worth it? Was time wasted? Happy? Stuff like that....

        • I agree, the journey is very fun and full of memories. But the destination does that a disservice. Hopefully the sequel will address that. The lore in this game is really where my interest lies.
You do have some spelling errors
• I'm cautious about Destiny 2, but I'm still holding on to that last bit of hope I've got for Bungie. If the leaks from Kotaku are even slightly true I think it will be a good game. And if people aren't lighting Bungie HQ on fire on launch day then I'll be happy to get that same new player excitement and wonder I felt when I started this roller coaster 3 years ago.

        • This game has been alot of fun, sure I, like alot of other guardians have complaints (light house virgin) but nothing so huge im gonna make a useless forum post, our gear not carrying over is not that big a deal to me, it tells me that fresh gear is on the horizon, new challenges, new bragging rights, and, dare I say it, a fully fleshed out story right from the start! Ill miss my old gear, sure, but in order to keep us invested in the game they will need to introduce new items, gimmicks, mysteries and so on, if that means the old stuff has got to go so be it, if i miss my old gear ill just pop in the current disc and all my old gear and nostalgia will be right where i left them (i hope)
