Destiny Download update 1.24??
I just bought the destiny game disk today for ps3, it's Feb 6 2017. I pop in the disk it prompts me to do the 1.24 online update(slugesh, still at 1% on 1/12 downloads) I have a wired connection. Any suggestions to what could be going on, and if so is there a way to play?? Iv done lots of online research I have 164 gb of free space no erro codes yet hope to get non. So what's going on????

I had an error code pop up idk when I was sleeping the error code is (80710723) did not download the game data 1.24

16 RespuestasFirst of all, starting now on PS3 is a really bad idea. The game was redundant on PS3 at its release, and now it's lost all support from Bungie. Second, the PS3 never handled game updates in multiple large chunks like Destiny currently has. Games like GT5 often took a few hours to download. More large updates increases download time exponentially. Finally, your own DL speed is likely less of a factor than you'd think. Sony has been accused in the past of capping speeds at the console for DDoS protective reasons. They've never admitted it, but it's pretty well-known that it's there. Get ready for a long download, there's not a lot you can do about it.

Second, with my experience, Destiny updates tend to stuck at the beginning for a while (might be a long while), but then resume. However, since the game is fully online, you can't play the game like others where you can play offline while it downloads the update
