Yeah it sucked having to grind materials all the time. But I liked that you could only get the highest gear by doing the raids. The nightfalls were hard, and relevant. I didn't play much pvp when destiny first came out so I couldn't really comment on that. But it sucks you can buy the game and have a max light level in a week now, and then there is nothing to do. Just a thought.

1 RespuestaYes This game is -blam!-ing cancer now
-
1 RespuestaThose were definitely the best days, ever!!
-
1 RespuestaI did and didn't like the y1 grind. I felt a sense of obligation to play everyday just to earn those 2 ascendant materials from the daily story, to use the timer apps to find the public events. It was a lot of work in y1. Made harder by the fact I'm a casual lone wolf. A blend of todays and yesterdays leveling might be good. I wouldn't mind being part of a conversation about how we level up and how we obtain the items to do so., but wont matter because bungievision.
-
Getting 4 strange coins a week for grinding a nightfall for 3 hours was nice. Forever 29. Thorn kicking people's butts unkept for like 200 days straight. Getting melted by Mytho. Nevermind, I take back the forever 29 thing. It was better than Forever bored at 390+.
-
1 RespuestaYear 1 had better taste in fashionable gear. There also wasn't nearly as ramshackle of a community. Back then, we could all agree that we hated Thorn at the time. Nowadays, people will hate on you for just about anything, even just for being in the same team or posting on the wrong subforums.
That last one is justified though. :P
-
1 RespuestaY1, the best and most frustrating at times. But yeah, everyone on the forums knows it all, has a high opinion of themselves, uses k/d as an argument for why their opinion is better than yours. Y1, was great because we all fought the same battle. Now we fight each other more often than not, trash bungie every chance we get. We call the game dead or trash and troll on the forums. Then there is nerf this, that, and cheater posts galore. Matchmaking is garbage, and still no dedicated servers. Don't get me started on you tubers, streamers, and pay for carries websites that bungie fully endorses due to free advertising. Anyways, I'm a die hard fan of the game and truly hopes it gets better.
-
1 RespuestaThe biggest difference between Y1 and now is that in Y1 everything was fresh, new, and exciting. There were still plenty of people calling for nerfs, people hatin' on Bungie, players leaving in droves, lame duck exotics, and so on... Nothing has really changed except what we collectively whine about...

6 RespuestasLight levels are possibly the most idiotic system in an RPG I have ever seen. "Oh you reached the max level? Now grind gear to get to the rest of the levels". Sounds nice and unique on paper, but for the most part it's a joke. Honestly, I would much rather have a real level/stat system in Destiny 2 than this crap.
-
3 RespuestasVoG weapons actually felt powerful and worth the effort, especially Praetorion Foil and Fatebringer.
-
10 RespuestasYes and no. See year 1 everyone had tons of friends online all the time. So yes having the best gear be raid gear made sense because everyone had their multiple raid teams. Now present day I say best gear should have multiple ways to acquire them because of the dramatic drop off of people's friends that still play it. Yes there is 3rd party LFG and now through the app also but people shouldn't have to rely on them.

-
3 RespuestasHmmm yes because of how relevant the endgame felt and no because of the lack of armor/weapon diversity.
-
4 RespuestasYes please. I want these days back so much. The whiners ruined everything.
-
1 RespuestaThe good old days when xur sold that warlock item for a good 7 or 8 times in a row, man everyone was so pissed.

4 RespuestasEditado por What I Look Like: 2/8/2017 1:10:40 AMIf you really think about it, limiting good gear to the Vault is not going to do much beyond some mild ego stroking. "Yisssss, look at those noobs over there with strike weapons! BEHOLD NOOBS, LET ME EQUIP MY FATEBRINGER/BLACK HAMMER/GJALLARHORN! BASK IN THE GLOW OF A TRUE mom I'm having a moment! Can't the garbage wait?!" I'd prefer the HoW era. Easily the most content per week. Just slightly annoying that the dumb looking PoE armor came completely upgraded immediately in terms of light. Made my VoG gear pissy.

6 RespuestasEditado por Goldship: 2/7/2017 3:53:41 AMI'd say keep it at house of wolves era Lots of activities to do for everyone that's relevant -Nightfall would be more relevant -Raids completely viable but not the only endgame gear -There would be trails (because there has to be something pvp, although make it easier to progress without a severe penalty to lower elitism) -Can't get that many people for raids there is arena -you could get normal legendary gear up to endgame light level which allowed fasionsouls which is always nice -rng wouldn't be nearly as bad as it was in the vanilla but at the cost of being way more diluted and being more difficult for that one certain thing you would want That was a good era because of all the things you could do
granted I got skyrim for $10 during the previous Black Friday and got absorbed into that so I didn't do much then, but when I did it was so much fun (even for a guy that barely had a full set of legendary gear until HoW)
Editado por DoubleOhhAdam: 2/8/2017 12:28:33 AMHave to agree with the o.p. Xur days were a spectacle, to say the least, with all the predictions and all the "leaks." Ring was a B but it made the grind fun. Separating the Have vs the Have Nots personally lead me to join up with fire teams that were in similar situations going for similar end game content.

10 RespuestasNope. There are always hardcore players who want to use games to show that they are the "best gamer in the room". But the problem is that catering to such exclusionary wishes have their desired effect. They exclude people....and that is not a very good business model for AAA console game that is ALL about moving large numbers of games and having mass popularity in the name of profitability. ...and if you dont' make money, you dont' get to keep making games. This is a business. Not a charity or a public utility. Maybe if you took the time to enjoy the game more, and saw it less as a means of proving something.....you might find that you don't burn out so quickly. The structure of the game as a whole right now, is the best its ever been. All that is needed is more cotent...and better weapon tuning. Our players are somewhat underpowered in PVE...and absurdly UP in PVP right now.
-
8 RespuestasHOLY CRAP, dude. You have almost 90 days of playing this game. GO OUTSIDE!
-
2 RespuestasEndgame I feel was done poorly because there is no real incentive to be max light. I can run normal crucible to get all the relevant gear I'll be using, and never touch raids.
-
7 RespuestasEditado por Jiggum_x: 2/7/2017 11:26:14 PMLike be excited to raid and hopefully get one of those awesome raid guns your friend got last week?
-
3 RespuestasEditado por hellbound2020: 2/7/2017 11:40:51 PMRemember the really long grinds just to update your weapon?... Although year 1 was alot lot more exciting.
-
wait...VOG siva is comming...
-
1 RespuestaNo. TTK didn't take a week to get to max light. COE was kind of express. RIO didn't take a week to reach max light. Destiny is in its lull period. In April there will be another thing then by end of July I'll see another post like this.

Simple solution for Pve: Put on all Y1 gear & weapons, go do Crota or VoG ( or whatever raid you prefer ) I don't understand why people have a problem with this? Simple fix and you get the benefit of both, without the hard grind and have fun. For PvP, just go to classic crucibal and use whatever. ( not much of a pvp player ) anyway, more suggestions?
