Edit 1: as suggested in thread; 60 secs too short so maybe 2.5 mins?
Edit 2: Re-matchmaking after every strike with rando's to prevent being with an AFKer for more then 1 strike.
Edit 3: Zero rewards (engrams and post game) granted to AFK-ers. Maybe rep too.
Hey Community!
Putting forth a suggestion of kicking AFKers if they have a 0 kill/assist count after a minute of strike start.
Also if 0 kill/assist after 2 mins from last check point at any point in strike except boss phase.
Fireteam's excluded from kick.
I don't mind 'carrying' friends whilst they go deal with real life issues that suddenly pop up but it is really annoying if solo striking with AFKers.
I get real life stuff happens, but why should I have to put up with a rando's toilet break or them being called away for a time leaving me to do all the work and them potentially getting a legendary reward for being AFK for half the strike.
@Community:
What is your opinion about this, what else would you suggest to improve this idea or scrap this idea?

25 RespuestasI voted no, because I think 2 minutes is way too long. Honestly, when I play Halo Firefight, I get booted within 30 seconds if I haven't moved. There's no reason to wait that long. When you spawn in, if the player doesn't begin to move immediately, it should trigger a 30 second countdown, and when the clock hits 0, it removes you from the game. that would solve AFKers, but that still wouldn't resolve players who just hang back, let you do all the work, and then hide and shoot at the boss a couple times so they get drops, but otherwise don't help you at all during the strike. In these instances, they just need to make a vote to kick option.

4 RespuestasI don't care if people afk as long as they don't get rewards.
-
11 RespuestasIf you're worried about AFK players in a strike then I'd say you're in the wrong playlist. If someone being afk is enough to prevent you from completing even a heroic strike you're probably not ready for heroics.

2 RespuestasI have said this for a VERY LONG TIME......should be the same amount of time for a strike as PvP. Last night I was in a match and got a text message....in the time I put down my controller, picked up my phone, read and answered the text my ship was floating in orbit. It took LESS THAN a minute to get kicked. SO.....WHY???.....can someone sit in a strike not doing ANYTHING until the loot screen??

Editado por Iroh II: 1/27/2017 6:38:32 PMK I'll just go into the patrol area and shoot a dreg then get back to watching shamesless

I'm good with #1 or even shorter time to get the boot. I don't like #2 because sometimes you run into 2 other rando's and they're actually fun to play with and it actually keeps me doing strikes even if I don't need to. This actually happens quite often. Also, if someone got booted due to #1....they aren't going to be around for #2 to have to happen anyway............. #3 agreed. Also add a #4, of you join a strike and run into the patrol area to cheese some shit, they don't count as "kills" since you're not in the strike area and it doesn't count as moving since you're not in the strike area so you get booted. If someone needs to cheese their Rainbow's or whatever, just load up a Nightfall solo and have at it. I could solo any strike, most of us probably can, but when I run strikes with rando's I expect it to be 3 of us wrecking shit. I'm that dick that will purposefully die in the restricted zone to drag them forward on purpose over and over if someone keeps running back into the patrol area lol.

Need a true vote to kick system in place , if 2 people vote person out , there booted , but those that vote to kick and it been active then got to give them a cool down for 30 min from voting out a person again , Then unable to kicked them at the boss part. unless there controller afk for 2 min , or 15 minutes on the boss or what game decides, then vote to kick counts from the leader timer and they get 5 a day. . on the strikes. It need to also though keep tracked of your votes to kicks , see if your trolling on it , and if caught, banned for 24hrs. like 5 votes you start to kick in a few hrs, for no reasons, ext...... but need afk 2min if 3 people in party from invite,

The problem is theirs nothing in the system that can tell the difference in playing but not killing and between being afk while you deal with life while having a elastic band wrapped around the analog stick to keep you moving.
-
I honestly don't think this will make a difference. I've started strikes where someone will leave right away and my team won't get a third the entire strike
-
Then people will do the bare minimum to stay in the strike. These kinds of qualifiers never work, people just find a way to adapt and once again do the bare possible minimum.
-
7 RespuestasNo. I switch up weapons at the beginning of a strike. Teammates will kill everything close and I'll easily be enemyless for a minute depending on the strike
-
Hey do what I do if they rush ahead or afk when they die don't revive them an hope your second random doesn't revive them or your friends don't revive them. Maybe they will get the message.
-
5 Respuestaseh, who cares. depending on the modifiers you can do it solo without a problem anyways. i dont mind if people dont play. more kills and medals for me :) as for afkers getting rewards.... well, what rewards? a blue engram or a coin? we are in year 3 now, those things became pointless anyways. all the "rewards" drop during the strike, or at least for me. i get more engrams from killing enemies and the boss.
-
Yes. I am to the point I will troll them. If you can't be bothered to play the game, then don't play the g ame. For the people saying they don't want to lose their streak, well it's a game so ease up. It's funny, you want other people to do it for you. Speaks volumes to the current state of people's views.
-
I don't like afkers either but there were times I had something come up and I didn't want to lose my strike streak. People that stay afk through multiple strikes is annoying but I did nightfalls in year 1 solo so I'm plenty capable and equipped to do them myself. My advice ignore it because it makes you a better player in the end.

4 RespuestasSo it's ok if your friend has a real life issue but not anyone else?
-
3 RespuestasMaybe 5 minutes, but not 1. Sometimes I go grab something after 1 strike is over or I'm setting up gear
-
3 Respuestas1min is too short.
-
5 RespuestasWhen I was on patrol on Mars (completing test weapons), I saw a team load in for the Dust Palace strike and one person remained behind. At first I though...hmmm..AFK'er but I saw he would dance every few min and shoot a few shots without moving.
-
1 RespuestaVery easy to find another lobby. That always solves the issue for me. I do like to wave at them as I vanish.
-
6 RespuestasNah. It has to apply for fire teams too
-
2 RespuestasIf ppl going AFK on a STRIKE really bothers you then please feel free to drop out or run strikes with a Fireteam. What you said about friends holds true for everyone.
