Cozmo. THIS....is why Primaries have to be buffed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPXbK0Mvmk4
This video was posted today by True Vanguard on his YouTube Channel. It shows EVERYTHING that is wrong in The Crucible with regard to the imbalance between player speed, augmented durability skills...and the killing power of primaries.
In the video, you're seeing the lengths that one of the best players in the game has to go through SIMPLY TO STAND HIS GROUND against a Juggernaut/skating/shotgun Warrior. One who is basically just bum-rushing him from mid-range, and making no effort to doge his fire.
This video shows why Bungie will NEVER be able to nerf shotguns enough to fix this problem. Not when a Titan skater can charge at you from the entire length of that back courtyard on Bannerfall...and NONE of the game's primaries can do enough damage to kill him before he reaches shotgun range.
Effectively making a Matador 64 into a mid-range weapon that can dominate what are SUPPOSED to be the game's mid-range weapons.
The game's primaries are so weak, that the only reliable counter seems to be what are basically TWO special weapons: Pop the shield with a No Land Beyond...and then hose the guy down with a side arm. ....and that's once again, in the hands of one of the game's best snipers.
To those who want to say, "Oh but the game will have a CoD TTK."
This video is showing you that the game ALREADY has a CoD TTK...and that shaving a few feet off of Matadors range....or adding a few frames to its handling won't solve this game's fundamental problems.

29 RespuestasEditado por Lost Sols: 1/5/2017 3:58:26 AMThe problem is that these streamers and YouTubers can show you any spin they want. They sit in private matches and put up videos they control the outcome of 100%. Are Titan shields good? Yes, but they're not unstoppable by any stretch of the imagination and if they were it's all we'd see topping every leaderboard. What also isn't accounted for most of the time when players have issue with another class, is their own class abilities. Now I don't know if TV pointed that out because honestly after 2 minutes of him repeatedly shooting a dude with a fusion while standing there and thinking it proved a point, I really didn't feel like watching more. That said, sure a Titan can run around with their shield, but other classes can blink, Shadestep, throw smoke, use AOE grenades and countless other means of countering/evading. What Destroys Destiny PvP isn't weak primaries, imbalance, metas or lack of weapon variety. What kills Destiny PvP is the YouTubers and streamers who decry shit they don't like because
OMG something is good and kills me and makes me have to try and -blam!- that
Triplewreck getting everyone worked up over bloom because even though hand cannons are still the best weapons in their intended range, he feels he should land consistently at pulse/scout range Datto decrying the evils of having to take cover and regen shields from DoTs because apparently just dying to OHK grenades is better? True Vanguard had a video not long ago asking for snipers to be buffed back where they were to counter the shotgun use in Destiny. There are too many YouTubers pushing personal agendas and telling everyone how they should play and instead of actually using and getting good with different weapons and everyone buys into the bullshit. The fact is that in order to die to a shotgun, we need to put ourselves there within their range more often than not. It's really popular to say buff primaries, but what exactly are you going to buff? Hand Cannons are still the bossiest shit in this game at 15 - 50 yards. Palindrome, Eyasluna, Imago Loop, Ill Will, all can drop you in a heartbeat. Pulse Rifles? Grasp, Cryptic, The FWC one... All great. Hawksaw? Great. Hopscotch Pilgrim? Incredible Scouts? Cryptic Dragon, MIDA, Distant Star, Chaos Dogma. All capable of destroying in PvP ARs that everyone says are trash, yet I see people tearing up games with Zhalo all the time and I've been using year one ARs the last week and have no issues getting kills. Got a best around a bit ago using Up for Anything. Don't even fire my fusion when using an AR. I just don't understand how much faster people want primaries to kill. Are we looking to make everything a OHK and whomever lands first wins?

5 RespuestasWeak primary weapons is what got perks, grenades, supers and even ammo nerfed. Once primary damage was reduced.. starting with the great AR nerf in yr 1, it went all down hill. Rotating meta my ass. Nothing ever rotates. Every primary should be given a slight buff. Fusions need a charge buff Shotguns need range and damage for PvE Ammo needs to be un-nerfed.
-
Cozmo is out playing infinite warfare and Titanfall enjoying smooth gameplay and fast match making
-
you dont need to buff primaries to fix the issue in the video Step 1: Revert the juggernaut buff so that it only activates on the ground Step 2: Add stopping power to primary weapons (The more you get hit the slower your sprint gets) There no more shotty blind rushers and no nerfs to weapons. win win
-
2 RespuestasThe real problem is the abundance of special ammo. Buffing primaries to compete with specials really makes no sense. A primary shouldn't beat out a special weapon. Special ammo is so common that there is no need to use a primary. I don't think they can buff primaries even slightly until they actually balance all the primaries. I know we are more balanced now than ever but there is still a meta. Disable extra ammo perks and limit special ammo pickups in PvP.
-
There is plenty of ways to counter juggernaut titans, yes primaries aren't the strongest but also jug shields only last for a time such as shouldercharge. if you have a shotgun yourself you can just slide into the juggernaut titan and atleast 60% of the engagements you will either win it or trade, just requires a bit of timing since they dont expect you to push them while they have a shield up. Just jump into the air and shotgun them in the face or slide and shoot them in the feet, it's not hard to do.

Cozmo. Put on your big boy pants and go do your job

The video doesn't prove anything but how long it takes to take a juggernaut shield out while standing still. So many more options at his disposal. I'd like to point out that weapons time to kill has changed very little if at all.

7 Respuestas100% agreed I go through cycles and reach a breaking point with the crucible. When it becomes "the more I play, the worse I get", it's time to pack it up and move on. Every match, every scenario, on every map plays out exactly the same. I engage The enemy takes damage and runs, I pursue, pumping round after round He escapes with a sliver of health Back up to reset, Check map for team mates Multiple radar pings from all sides Try to get cover, double teamed Respawn I engage The enemy takes damage and runs Check map for teammates radar pings ahead "Wow someone is engaging" Ready up, get cover, Supered immediately -frustration sets in- Respawn I engage The enemy takes damage and runs, I pursue, pumping round after round He escapes with a sliver of health Supered again Respawn Heavy is up Supered at heavy, (if teammate doesn't grab it) Replay the entire scenario with sprinkles of sniper deaths, more supers, incompetent teammates, grenade traps, and being double, sometimes triple teamed. Save the advice, and I don't care if anyone thinks I'm a scrub... I'm just done. It's not fun. It's not the meta, shotguns, op weapons, juggernaut, wombo combos, or any of that... It's exactly what's detailed in Kelly's post. Primary's aren't powerful enough to have meaning in the game outside of a few. They are the skill based, situational weapons rather than secondaries, and that causes extreme frustration for me as a player. There is too much shit everywhere in the maps, room clearing or tracking grenades, one shot specials, freebie supers, diverse movement options and heavy weaponry to have such low time to kill for primary weapons. It's not only damaging to balance, and the outcome of engagements on a personal level, it's damaging to teamplay(especially if you solo que). Half the time, your team is either perched up sniping somewhere or running around rampantly trading shotgun kills with the enemy team... Surely not assisting you or other teammates with focus fire and/or shield trading. It's a god damn joke... The only alternative to quitting and even remotely enjoying the game is to join a clan or team up... But most of the hardcore PVP players I play with only want to train for trials in elimination ... Elimination, and all other 3v3 modes are a complete special-fest and an amped version of what I hate about the crucible in general. I totally understand why people play the way that they do really... Because it's the best way... Passive, campy or the binary rushdown counterpart... It's one dimensional, predictable and boring playing this way. I asked myself tonight after being slammed over and over... "Why can't I get any better, why can't I sit down and enjoy this game In multiplayer" It's because I don't enjoy it and I'm trying to play it the way I want to play. It will never work. I subconsciously cannot get better because I'm not enjoying what I'm doing... It's sad really because I enjoy the hell out of PVE, and would love to invest my time in a game that has both PVE and PVP options, especially a game that I have invested days into. Over 15 friends and clan mates over the years felt the same and all quit because when PVE dries up, they refuse to spend their time in the crucible. I guess it just took me a while longer. I sincerely hope that Bungie changes the entire way that specials work in Destiny 2. I spent an entire year being sniped repeatedly, and struggling to adjust to a game that has such weak primary weapons, I'm not doing it again.

1 RespuestaEditado por magburner: 1/5/2017 9:54:15 AMMore clickbait... Why is this Guardian waiting until the Titan is right on top of him? Anyone who has faced one of these types of attacks, starts shooting the moment they see them! He actually uses the best defence, a primary, then switch to a sidearm to burn them down.
-
Agreed. I've been saying this since year one. The ability/agility/mobility is what's overpowered when factored into map size and design. Certain tweaks should be made to subclass abilities. They already addressed shadestep and blink. I think that jug shields should not be able to tank a golden gun shot or generate when the Titan doesn't even have shields and is under fire. Speed+invulnerability+matador=frustration
-
Who cares. F streamers. They're the ones that ruined this game with their salty tears. Bungie listens to them One of my clanmates said it best: If you can't beat em, join em.

3 RespuestasEditado por Unbrandedpie: 1/5/2017 3:14:57 AMLmao you guys arguing shotguns and juggernaut really are stupid. All that video showed is if you see a guy running at you and stand still you'll be at a disadvantage. He literally did not move. He also stated how "shotgun warriors" have to be linear to be effective. Any type of map knowledge and movement would effectively make their rush useless. Learning when to engage and disengage will solve all of these problems. Not once did he use his abilities... Another sad attempt to try and cry for nerfs.
I wonder why movement becomes a giant argument when it's used to attack but not once have you nerf guys ever thought of how useful it'd be to defend or escape.
3 RespuestasExactly, primaries have to be buffed.
-
Jugg is fine, primaries arent.
-
The problem is the balance between archetypes. The high rof pulse rifle dominates almost all other weapon classes right now including scout rifles at long range. Autos are oK at best. Face a decent opponent and you will put yourself in a real challenge since they have high damage drop off and hand cannons or clever dragon will shred them. It's the meta. Jug shield definitely needs to be tweaked a bit since it can tank so much damage while traveling across the map. It even tanks a golden gun shot.
-
2 RespuestasBungie will not buff primary that is to much work they will just nerf juggernaut or nerf the fastest firing pulse rife so that it comes into line with the other primary kill times.

4 RespuestasEditado por LeGrand Daddy: 1/5/2017 3:39:52 AMI will validate what you're saying but I don't agree completely. If you allow the guy to charge you in a straight line... you deserve to get killed. Because of the shield you have to work harder to out maneuver him but it is possible. You have to change the engagement to work in your favor; jump, side step/run and time your shots. Honestly though I agree with you in that primaries are not the best counter in these instances. I use a shotgun almost every time and just time it right to get him when his shield goes down and move to the side or jump when needed. I don't think it's a primary weapon's job to take down a charging Jug/Titan straight on. That's what secondaries are for along with smart movements.

6 RespuestasIt's a good Vid and I like how he goes through several weapon combos. However 2 things come to mind. - he's not using any abilities (grenade or "ranged melee" Not saying they are always effective either but a well placed grenade can help with the shield at a distance too. - I feel to me it more points out how broken 1 subclass is in terms of mobility. This is the only subclass that makes this argument valid. Either remove the exploit that is Titan skating (you can't tell me that Bungie knew it was going to be used this way. Their QA is too inept) OR make Jug shield go away when you jump. It actually fits the name more if its purely a running ground based perk. You fix those and the problem goes away without effecting any weapons.
