Primary Weapons in the Crucible
I've been playing lots of crucible lately and I've really been trying to get back into using my primaries as my main weapons instead of my special. I feel that when the time comes when primaries become relevant again I will have an advantage. In our current meta of snipers and shotguns, I find using a primary very frustrating at times. I often match up against talented players who absolutely demolish me with their special weapons and I simply just can't counter them. For example, if I am facing a talented sniper, every time I bury my hand cannon crits in them they always seem to just pop a headshot on me with their sniper without any difficulty. Also shotguns for me are very difficult to counter because there are a lot of abilities (shadestep, twilight garrison, titan skating, etc) that make the person wielding the shotgun extremely mobile and hard to track. It is very frustrating when I finally am able to track them down, but they kill me instantly because I simply wasn't able to put enough damage in them before they got to me. I am not asking for anything to be nerfed here, I simply just wanted to explain why I think primaries could use a good buff. This is just my opinion and yours may be different and that is perfectly fine. I respect all opinions. Have a great day, guardians.

To all of those who think I am complaining: I made this post as my opinion. I do not want anything to be nerfed here. Please read the title. I do not think nerfing things will solve the situation here. :)

17 RespuestasNo offense, but this community is a sweat shop. Primaries are fine, it's just no one uses them. Take a look at Juggernaut. It wasn't being used before, but now its a huge problem because more are using it. Stop thinking that because something is overused that it must be overpowered. Shoulder charge was nerfed to shit thanks to whining Hunters who couldn't adapt... and guess what they got now, jugg... and now they're whining about that. Primaries are fine... trust me... when more people use them, then you'll whine that secondaries need a role.

Editado por Goldship: 1/1/2017 7:00:33 AMHere's a guide on how to counter a good bit of the current meta with about 70%-90% success and a bonus guide for newbies some alright gear Snipers (if your bad at sniping and/or want to avoid them) -Look for a red flare -If you see one please leave the sniper lane, unless you can snipe or get lucky with a scout there is little to no hope of killing them without dying Sniping (if your sniping) -Despite popular belief high rate of fire/low impact snipers such as 20/20 are pretty good at body shots at the cost of twice the ammo -high impact snipers a good for countering supers Shotguns (if bad at fighting them) -look for one and if you see one run (you can fight but if you need this guide then you might want to consider the run option a bit more) -the current meta is based around the highest range and impact shotys around with the matador being very common -avoid conners, in a shotgun dominated map hiding in a sniper lane ain't a bad idea, unless there are snipers List of shoties that can hold up well if you don't have a meta weapon (yes I know these aren't "godly" but not everyone has a super good matador, I do but I rarely need to use it) -winters end -44 curtain call -last ditch -occam's razor -high counsel -her champion -lord of wolves

For secondary I mostly use sidearms, but I have been trying sniping lately. Do I think people rely on secondaries? Yes, I do. Do I think it's a problem? Nope. The only problem I have with weapons in Destiny is how many people there are running the same loadout, because someone says it's the "meta". Most people seem to run with what they think they need as opposed to what they want, or what would be more fun. It's not so much a problem, just that certain weapons get overlooked because of this. I don't have a hard time outgunning Clever Dragon users unless they are simply better than me or had better luck on the strafe. I am a great supporter of anyone using whatever they want for whatever reason they want.

1 RespuestaPrimary and crucible are 2 words that just don't go together at all. This game is hands down the worst PvP fps I can remember playing. I'm only ever in it for quests and not 1 second of it is ever enjoyable, I can feel my soul just dying whenever I'm forced to do this shit. Miss my old account where I had no land beyond. There wasn't enough matador noobs in the world to stop me when I had no land beyond :( :(

Easy solution to balance crucible. Remove all nerfs on every weapon ever nerfed, keep all buffs ever added to the game. There would be so much more variation to people's loadouts, primaries would be used alot more often because they'd be much more effective.

1 RespuestaI say make 0 special ammo spawn in the course of the match. In exchange everyone starts out with full special. You use all of that up...well...use your primary. Switching weapons make you lose all special ammo still. Making you commit to your weapon choice. This is make ammo regen...and ammo conservation perks more sought after. Ice Breaker and Invective will feel exotic again.

Personally I think they could use a buff but the main problem is people are just running around with the mapador because it takes no skill.

1 RespuestaIf someone is better than me than I don't think buffing primaries will make much of a difference for me vs them lol. At the end of the day, just give people their props. They might have killed you 10-15 times with their shotty or sniper. That person could be even better with their primary but you just do happened to be in their shotgun range. As for getting sniped. Its definitely more hard to dome someone when you're getting shot at. It will happen if you continue to challenge snipers. As I sniper myself, I will challenge anything but a pulse rifle. You should spam your shots while strafing to keep the sniper flinching or quickly pop in and out of cover and pray you dont get domed when you pop back out if you insist on challenging a sniper with a hand cannon. Imo, I just think autos need serious buff and handcannons need to feel more accurate. Clever Dragon and grasp needs a nerf on the range stat. Low rate of fire weapons in all categories need to made more relevant. Skip nades and axion bolts need a damage reduction. They should do the same damage as arcbolts and firebolts. Sunsinger needs a buff. Pvp today is wayyyyy more forgiving than what it use to be tho lol. its definitely getting better tho

Yes some primaries are better than others. I have a beloved uffern hc4 hand cannon with solid range and perks but that damn bloom effect shits on my accuracy so I'm basically stuck using my almost perfect hawksaw and perfect auto rifle. But having great primaries doesn't mean you are the best. Play a bit more defensive to gauge ranges of shotgunners and where to anticipate movement and against snipers, try to get them at an angle that they don't see you.

For gods sake, special weapons are used as primaries because bungie is giving out a shitload of ammo for them. I think the ammo of crates should drop only for the person opening it, therefore less sniping and shotgunning. The result would be more primary fights or people camping for special ammo, since they can't use primaries. I am just not for a primary buff because if we have 2 burst pulses or two shot HC we would basically have special weapons there, at least in my opinion. Also since we're at it get rid of high cal rounds, they make gunskill irrelevant and make the guy with first shot win 90% of gunfights

i got an AR with counterbalance perfect balance and it shuts shotguns down so well then i dome the sweaty LDRs with my god roll bitter edge or ex machina

3 RespuestasI'm only touching the POS PvP in this game when I have a good reason to but I went through the latest IB with a +2.5 k/d and 52 % primary kills (playing solo without sound on and watching stuff on a second monitor).

2 RespuestasAny High RoF scout rifle does the trick when it comes to snipers. As far as shotgunners go, well, stay in very tight hallways.

1 RespuestaI don't get it. Last IB I ran my Blind Perdition and a sidearm for all the shotgun rushers. My K/D was so high I went up by like .3 or .4 overall K/D with some pretty upsurd stats. Primaries are fine when you have a thing called POSITIONING.

1 RespuestaSame. I mainly use my hand of judgement in pvp. Usually if I encounter a shotgunner, I immediately use double jump(or whatever the jump is for character) and melee them from above. Then they get confused where I am and I either run off or stab them again.
