SRL Sandbagging
First, a confession: since finishing the Dawning SRL book tasks (and the SRL quest line), I have been sandbagging my SRL matches, trying not to win but instead to place in top-3 (for the bounty) or 4th.
It's fun to hang behind two well-matched racers and watch them duke it out for the position.
I suspect many other SRL players are also sandbagging, so if you are, shout out here!

Since I have the book and the SRL quest done and reached rank 5, I always finish last. I stay in the back and chill. Almost stopped playing SRL though. It really demotivated me that I got only 1 Eyasluna in 175 races. And it had a crap roll.

HAH!!! Sandbagging? I'm the guy in first for the entirety of the race until the last 1/10th when I take a corner badly, got the forklift, miss the boost jump, or just plain miss three gates in a row. At which point I get passed and usually finish third

I was giving up first for a while. I would try super hard and get right to the end and then stop. Some people really liked it because they were working on the S class quest.

With out spinning out of control

6 RespuestasI'm the guy that hangs slightly behind first until we're almost to the finish line. Then, right as the guy in front is thinking he won, I put my timebreaker in overdrive and fly past him

4 RespuestasI'm at the point where I gave up trying to win, I don't understand the system, how a player can be first the whole race with a mile of lead. I see no point in trying to finish the quest or win anymore, just hoping I get something good at the end.

I always start off trying to stay back and get 3rd or 4th, but I usually either f*ck up and get last or I do too well and place 1st or 2nd.

If you're not first, you're last. Besides, we all know last place gets the best rewards.

1 RespuestaI sandbagged just because it seemed like 2nd and below were the ones who got the SRL emblems. Guess what. When I stopped placing 1st I got all the emblems. On a serious note though the emblems should have been earned through the record book or doing X number of whatever's vs rng.

I saw others doing this, I was in a fight to the finish to get first place, it was super close but he had a sparrow's length lead on me. At the very last second when it was obvious he was gonna win, he stopped at the finish line and ended up coming in last. Whoever that was, thanks for the win. Now I have my S class and book done, I don't try to place, I just have fun racing and getting drops. Then there was a clan, fireteam of 3. They didn't even move at the race start. Upon rounding the end of the first lap, they were facing the wrong way and started ramming players. That was half funny and half annoying. It didn't really do much to interfere with anyone that I noticed, one of them hit me head on and I just did a little jump over them and it slowed me down a tiny bit. They waited, stopped again for everyone to come around for the final lap, then started racing alongside and just interfering... Pulling alongside someone and aide boosting, trying to make people miss gates, etc. That was kinda lame.

Since I have a Class S license for all 3 of my Guardians, now whenever I'm in first place at the finish, I stop short of the finish line, do a180 and honk at the rest of the field as they cross the line. Then I back across the line to take last place.

I give them a 15 to 20 second head start. I can usually place in the first three places and sometimes win. Why is this? Not because I'm better than they are but because I'm not being bump'ed into or recked by a mob. At the back, all your gates are full size and you can catch them by the end of lap one or soon after. They are usually spread out by then so passing is a lot easier. Of course after getting to S class I'm happy with 4th place.

1 RespuestaI tend to just enjoy the ride. Not worried about where I finish now. Plus the rewards tend to be better for 4th than for 1st.

1 RespuestaWow I can't believe you are actually still playing SRL when you don't have anything left to complete. Really? Go play a real racing game. SRL got super boring for me after 10 races. Once I got my book and license it was adios. Now it's the broken Crucible for Shaxx bounty and some random patrols for Gunsmith bounties.

1 RespuestaIt's surprisingly hard to loose on porpoise. I try to hang back, but the people I'm matched with just aren't making turns correctly or using their boosts. I can't stay out of the top 3.

I went back to the first sparrow I got and use it to race. It is kinda fun. :)

I mostly get first place, I try to keep my distance from the people shoving and pushing.

I give everyone a head start, quickly make it to first for most of the race, and then stop at the finish line. I'm in this for loot.
