I know that there will be some people that will see this post and straight away check my K/D and tell be how shit it is and to get good but should we really judge a fellow guardian just by their K/D? I think that judging someone else by their K/D is a very rude and offensive thing to do. For all you know, that person could be the best guardian you've met online. He could be the funniest guardian you've met. But you'll never know that will you? Because all you care about is how bad their K/D is. Why should we care about another guardians K/D? The only thing we should care about is their personality. A K/D ratio does not make a guardian, a personality makes a guardian. I've gotten into arguments with other guardians or posted a comment on the forums and that person or someone has said, "ooohh, your K/D is such and such, git gud." Like seriously, who actually gives a -blam!- how back my K/D is? It doesn't matter. Now, Trials, I'm gonna point the finger at you for a bit. Trials players are notorious for judging people by their K/D (I'm not pointing the finger at every trials player here, only the ones who do this). Not letting someone join your fireteam for trials because their K/D is not positive or is not up to your standards is pretty sad. I understand that some would like to go flawless and I respect that but you know what? There is always tomorrow. Have some fun once in a while, life is not a race. I respect all guardians but I respect the ones who don't judge K/Ds more than the ones who do. I do understand that that there will some always be people who do this and that I have to suck it up. I know this but I just wanted to get my point across and maybe shed some light onto this situation and hopefully pressure or persuade some of the people into not doing it anymore.
For you who've read the whole post or just scrolled down to the bottom, thankyou and I hope you have a safe and happy holidays and wonderful life. Now, it's midnight for me so I'm gonna skoot off to bed so please excuse me for not replying straight away, god bless 🙏

30 RespuestasEditado por Darian: 12/27/2016 7:33:03 PMI will never get why people say they were bad in year 1 so that's why they have a low k/d and it's impossible to bring up. My k/d went up from a 0.7 because I was shit the first 2 months and my k/d is constantly changing. I guarantee the people who use that as an excuse aren't as good as they think they are

2 RespuestasOMG ur k/d is total garbage
Just kidding bro, you're doing better than I am at least
If k/d judges anything, it's how much you care. I mean if I actually cared I would study video and play a lot more than I do now. If I put in the time and effort and never slack off I could probably get my k/d to a "good" level. But I don't want to do that. Sometimes I want to -blam!- around. Sometimes I just want to get through matches for drops. Generally someone with a good k/d isn't gonna do something that will tank their k/d. They care about it. Sure k/d can give you a good guess about the extent of someone's skill. There's probably not many .5's that can play like pros. But I do think there are .9's that could be 1.2's and vice versa. It just seems to me like people put more emphasis on the exact number than the general range it probably indicates. Then they act like it's the end all be all, and nothing else matters. It's interesting how people will treat a statistically inaccurate number like the word of god.

K/D is an estimation, not an accurate summarization of a person's skills. K/D should only be used to judge how a person could play, rather than how they've always played. That particular stat changes far too often to be reliable in any situation other than an estimation, thus it ehould be used like one. Factors in Crucible are too different for every game to be the same. One game a person could do amazing, the next they could get stomped by a six man team.

14 RespuestasHere we go again. The people with low k/ds trying to say k/d doesnt matter even though the game literally revolves around killing more than you die in order to win. Even in objective modes if you are just dying a shit ton it means you arent helping your team Your personality isnt going to win games

I have a great KD but I wont give people shit for not having a good KD unless they try telling me that I'm bad at the game for wanting certain things to be balanced

16 RespuestasKD proves how good you are at PvP. End of conversation

11 RespuestasEditado por LegendWatters: 12/30/2016 6:29:08 PMTo meta player's combat rating is more important than KD. It shows what kind of decisions you make. One of my friends had a crap KD but a great combat rating because he often dies making the smarter play. Ex: capturing an objective, protecting a runner, providing support.

9 RespuestasI don't think it's acceptable. Personally for me my goal was just to get every character over 1. Now being a mostly solo player it's going to be a challenge keeping characters over 1 because I have found im getting matched against players much better than myself.

2 RespuestasMeh I was terrible at pvp when I first started. I've never really been into fps's. I mess around a lot now too. So I care not about my kd.

1 RespuestaK d shmaydee I will wreck any snotty nosed sniper that wants to call me out on k d

1 RespuestaYou forgot : Don't give a S**t!!! And why should we give a S**t about KD. Just play and have fun!
-
1 RespuestaIf you are going to look at someone's k/d, look at the past month or so. A lot of people have improved since they first started

2 RespuestasUgh, a .9 making a post like this...
Somebody probably already said this below but i didn't feel like sifting through replies so i didn't hurt someone's feelings

P.S. all people, no matter their kd, deserve to voice their opinions. After all, it has ALWAYS been the purpose of a public forum!
3 RespuestasDepending on game mode K/D doesn't matter. I would rather have a good Win Loss Ratio. Non TDM game modes of course...

6 RespuestasI haven't looked at your KD but I do want to make fun of you because of your lack of paragraphs.

Editado por High Charity: 12/30/2016 5:17:41 PMIf it's Clash or you're talking about kdr, it's totally fine to judge it. In all other scenarios it's silly because this game is a hyper casual one. Just my two cents. For example, it'd be like judging who's the best player in the MLB solely by who hit the most home runs. It's a part of the game, but it doesn't represent the entire spectrum.
-
3 RespuestasK/D is all based on RNG like right now if you don't have a god roll "meta dragon" or a "metador" with range finder you are at a disadvantage.
-
6 RespuestasI love playing with guardians that have terrible k/d, it means easier opponents for me (even though Bungie swears they use connection as their search criteria lol).
-
31 RespuestasAnother post from the generation of losers who are raised getting participation trophies and can't understand when it doesn't really work out that way. It's a metric that measures how good you are. Deal with it.
-
1 RespuestaKd doesn't reflect your skill. I have a historically bad kd because I'd never played any game Pvp prior to destiny and got utterly destroyed for most of year one and two. I made the effort to get better and while my account kd sits at around 0.81 I'm actually hitting 1.2-1.5 in each session I play and I'm slowly shrinking a 6000 kill deficit. So when someone checks my kd and tells me I'm bad I usually ignore it because I feel like I'm improving and my daily kd tracking backs that up.
-
1 RespuestaMeh, someone with a higher KD has a higher chance of going positive in that game. More kills less deaths = higher chance to successfully play objective Play objective = win So yeah, KD matters.

40 RespuestasPeople are idiots, "Whats your KD" Its all about that Grimoire. Anything Under 4100 Can't say spit about crucible balance.
