We've seen fists, pistols, wheelguns, fusion rifles, shotguns, rifles, snipers, machine guns, rocket launchers, swords, knives, hammers, bows, grenades, mines, light vehicles, tanks, turrets, and space magic so far. Certainly a lethal cornucopia and an impressive start. So what type of weapon should we see appear in Year 3 and beyond? Here are a few ideas, but just for new exotic weapons but for new weapon types:
0. Submachine Guns
I know that these have been mentioned from time to time. However, figuring what SMG's essentially are, well... they're already here. From Payback SOS through Doctrine of Passing and Soulstealer's Claw, and into Y3 guns, they're simply guns that fire lower-power cartridges with a shorter range at a higher rate of fire. If the Answering Chord is Destiny's answer to an M-4 or AK-101, the Doctrine is its answer to an MP-5 or FN P-90. Therefore, while I wanted to include submachine guns, I couldn't really do it.
1. Kosugi's Blowpipe [Hunter Exclusive]
Weapon Type: Suppressed Dart Gun, special slot
Flavor Text: Strike from nowhere and vanish in the night. That is the ninja way...
Exotic Perk: Phantasm. Invisible Guardians can fire this gun and remain invisible
Damage: 3 initial plus 63 DOT. Kinetic/poison.
ROF: 12 rounds/min.
Magazine: 1
2. The Luminous Spear
Weapon Type: Laser Rifle, primary slot
Flavor Text: If you want to run and play, come along the beam today!
Exotic Perk: Continuous Fire. Weapon shoots a continuous beam of light that inflicts solar damage.
[b]Damage: 15 per 0.1s body, 22 per 0.1s precision. [/b]Solar.
ROF: Continuous
Magazine: 5 seconds of fire
3. The Iron Scepter
Weapon Type: Morning Star (shaft with spiked ball at end), heavy slot
Flavor Text: There's nothing subtle about this medieval instrument of destruction.
Exotic Perk: Berserker. Consecutive attacks do increased damage, and player flinch is slightly reduced. Both perks stack up to five times.
Damage: 150 initial, +15% per berserker stack. Kinetic damage. Note that in Crucible, you will have to land three hits before you start landing reliable one-hit kills
ROF: Slower than a sword
Magazine: N/A. Unlimited use.
4. [b]The Onager[/b][Titan exclusive]
Weapon Type: Heavy Slug Thrower, heavy slot (obtained via the Cabal)
Flavor Text: Named for an ancient weapon that hurled fiery death at those who dared oppose the Empire.
Exotic Perk: Brutality. Provides heavy caliber and armor piercing rounds, and extreme damage. Due to its weight, you cannot sprint or jump with it in your hands.
Damage: 88 body, 110 crit. Solar damage.
ROF: Similar to slow ROF machine gun
Magazine: 17
5. Pelee's Wrath
Weapon Type: Flamethrower, special slot
Flavor Text: When the eruption comes, there's no escape.
Exotic Perk: Incinerator. Shoots a stream of deadly solar flame that does increasing damage.
Damage: Increasing, enough to take down a Guardian in 1.5 seconds. No increase for precision damage
ROF: Continuous
Magazine: 9 seconds of fire
6. Thumper's Daddy
Weapon Type: Grenade Launcher, special slot
Flavor Text: "If ya can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothin' at all."
Exotic Perk: Launches non-sticky explosive shells. They bounce off walls and explode 3s after discharge.
Damage: 88, lessens with distance
ROF: 50/min.
Magazine: 3
7. Striker's Lament
Weapon Type: Machine pistol, secondary
Flavor Text: "If only I had had one of these in my days as an active Guardian." - Zavala
Exotic Perk: Bulletstorm. Fires at extreme rate of speed, but loses damage with distance
Damage: 9 body, 11 precision. Void damage
ROF: 1,350 rounds/minute (register a hit in 3 consecutive frames, none in the fourth)
Magazine: 42
8. Merlyn's Bangle [warlock exclusive]
Weapon Type: Armband, special slot
Flavor Text: Drink from the luminous river. Drink deeply.
[b]Exotic Perk: Siphon of light. This "weapon" cannot actually be drawn, and takes up your special slot. However, having it equipped causes the warlock's melee energy to recharge at three times the normal rate.[/b]
Damage: N/A
ROF: Continuous
Magazine: Infinite
[b]9. The Concave Scream[/b]
Weapon Type: Sonic weapon, special slot
[b]Flavor Text: The only silence you hear will be your death.
[/b]Exotic Perk: Riot Stopper. No lethal effect, but it sends a short-range pulse of sonic energy that disorients minions of the Darkness and causes Guardians to flinch.
Damage: 0
ROF: 25/min. Takes a couple seconds to charge.
Magazine: 3
10. Blacklight Predator
Weapon Type: Coilgun, primary slot
Flavor Text: In space, no one can hear you scream...
Exotic Perk: Extreme impact. Weapon must precharge before shooting, like a fusion rifle, but fires one scout rifle-type shot, with maximum range.
[b]Damage: 77 body, 116 precision.

11. Hadrian's Wall
Weapon Type: Shield, heavy slot
Flavor Text: Many Guardians have fallen under the iron boots of Cabal Phalanxes. It's time to return the favor.
Exotic Perk: [b]Testudo[/b]. Most of Guardian's body is shielded. If a sidearm is in the special slot when the shield is deployed, Guardian will automatically equip and use it (but not aim with the sights).
Damage: By Sidearm

12. [b]Double Your Pleasure[/b]
Weapon Type: Pair of sidearms.
Flavor Text: Why use only one gun when you have two hands?
Exotic Perk: [b]Twice the Fun[/b]. Fire two sidearms at once. Aiming is impossible and accuracy is limited; damage is somewhat reduced.
Damage: 31 body, 46 precision
ROF: Trigger-limited, extremely fast
Magazine: 24 (12 x 2)
13. Fryzz B
Weapon Type: Disk Launcher
Flavor Text: No bullets will be dodged today...
Exotic Perk: Circle of Death. Gun fires razor-edged disklike projectiles that veer toward any hostile target. Think aim assist, but about three times more powerful.
Damage: 37 body, 55 precision
ROF: Comparable to high-impact Scout (it does 3/4 the damage of one, that's the price you pay for seeker projectiles).
Magazine: 18
14. Sun in a Bottle
Weapon Type: Scorch Cannon, heavy slot
Flavor Text: After considerable effort, Banshee finally figured out how to produce a miniaturized version of the infamous Fallen weapon.
Exotic Perk: Fusion Core. This weapon cannot be reloaded, but regenerates ammo over time. Does not function in the Crucible unless heavy ammo is retrieved.
Damage: 226
ROF: 40/min
Magazine: 3
15. Black Flames
Weapon Type: Fusion Rifle, primary slot
Flavor Text: A melding of the Vex Mythoclast and Hive Murmur, this weapon draws its power from both the stars and the endless nothingness between them.
Exotic Perk: Variable. This weapon can use solar or void damage
Damage: Slightly less than slow ROF autorifle. This is a weapon for melting shields or capitalizing on burns, not for engaging Guardians in the Crucible on equal terms.
ROF: comparable to slow ROF autorifle
Magazine: 25
16. The Reaper
Weapon Type: Scythe, heavy slot
Flavor Text: "...and then, there was only death." - Eris Morn
Exotic Perk: Touch of Oblivion. Special attack involves spinning in a circle and doing normal sword damage to everyone in reach. Kills regenerate player health and increase Super energy.
Damage: Equal to sword.
ROF: Normal attack equal to sword. Special attack is slower
Magazine: 68. Special attack drains 5 ammo
17. Voidstorm Cluster
Weapon Type: Multibarrel Rocket Launcher (takes heavy slot)
Flavor Text: Live every day as if it were your last, for one day will be.
Exotic Perk: Voidstorm. Fires a total of nine shots, no tracking, that seperate into a 3x3 pattern and blanket the target area.
Damage: 80 per shell. Some shells overlap for increased damage.
ROF: Takes several sec. to reload
Magazine: 1 nine-shot cannister (you can carry 3)

EDIT 3: Made some tweaks: renamed the Sound and Fury and the Praetorian, and increased the damage done by the Blacklight Predator. It can now two-shot enemies. All changes highlighted on bold.

1 RespuestaI like the ideas of a hunter exclusive weapon. I especially like the ide of there being a blowpipe in destiny. I also like you can remain invisible when firing this weapon. The one question i have is what kind of arca type it is. Would it be a fast rate of fire low impact weapon, or is is a slower rate of fire high impact weapon. Other than that I think that these are all great ideas.

You should change #4 with the no jumping to only lift abilities can be used to jump. The cabal do the same thing with theirs. None the less nice stuff.

We get an armband that decreases melee cooldown so everyone can complain about our OP melee ranges more often :) also #9 Sound and fury. If I'm not mistaken isn't that the name of the raid rocket launcher?

Fist of Wei Ning [i]"With every punch, a little bit of her power is experienced."[/i] Titan gauntlets Exotic perk: Wei's Love Tap Titan melee ability is swapped with a charged attack, once the attack makes contact you will push back an enemy until they are crushed. The attack charge takes 3 seconds to charge and decreases movement speed by half. Does not work on Majors or Ultras. Design is based off of the TDB vanguard Shoulder pieces but with a hive knights helmet on the right shoulder, with a burn marks on the fists leading up to the forearm. Base color is a iridescent orange.

3 RespuestasMage born ally "More than a comrade, less than a soul" Warlock class item Exotic perk: Right hand/ left hand Right hand: When supercharged your melee is replaced by a pure light blast emitted from your right hand. Blast provides a 25% damage buff from all sources. Lasts 10 seconds and has a 15 second cooldown between uses. Staggers and deals mid impact sniper damage (1KYS, LDR, etc) in pve. Matches the element of subclass. Left hand: When critically wounded unleash a barrier from your left hand that covers about as much area as ward of dawn. Health continuously regenerates inside barrier. Lasts for 20 seconds and can be destroyed the same way as ward of dawn.

1 RespuestaTry focusing on armor pieces too, weapons are nice and all, but the way they make weapon exotics could very well take your ideas and throw them in the gutter. Where as exotic armor pieces are usually over looked in terms of usefulness so they just disregard them.
