But it seems like it's only there so that you can put a quick skin over the tower and then put anything we might actually want to win up for sale instead of actually in the loot table...
We're not paying for extra content. We are just paying for more garbage to be put into your little shop... and this after paying quite a bit for that relatively small DLC. I think I'll be moving to Titanfall for quite some time.

You don't pay for content at all.

1 RespuestaGames need money to keep making content that the players ask for. Plus it's cosmetic items. Not -blam!-ing items that make a difference in the game or items that give you a advantage above everyone else. It's not like they sat there with a gun to your head and forced you to buy shit. Destiny will be in my top three games forever and I'll support them no matter what. Sorry that y'all don't have money to buy stuff but at least people are doing it for ya so we can get free stuff from time to time.

What I want to know is why people keep supporting Bungie when it's been one thing after another with this game since year one, day one? Remember the days of blue and purple engrams dropping GREEN loot? I do. But I don't understand the complaining when Bungie isn't held to the fire and journalists continue to ignore the issue because these huge game publishers line their pockets. I've been reading about people spending this and that in Eververse...WHY SPEND MONEY AT ALL? It's not that difficult. Bungie knows that the Destiny community as a whole is nothing but competitive with each other, and that means offering nonsense crap that they know through mounds of social experimental evidence (i.e. the past two years of Destiny) you will buy to be "better" than everyone else. You blame them? I blame the idiot gamers who constantly support this stuff and then complain when it doesn't go their way. This is how gambling works, children. You roll the dice and take your chances, but you can't blame the Casino when you lose your wallet. Bungie is the Casino...the big, evil, fat Casino. And the more you visit and participate, the more they laugh. It's how greedy gaming companies function. Get over it and shut up or keep spending to make the problem worse. I love this stuff. I guess it's true that common sense isn't so common anymore. Oh, and if you want to spend your hard-earned money on things that ultimately make no difference in the real world, go for it. It's not my business how you handle your money nor is it any of yours how I handle mine. Live with it, or boycott it...either way...but for god's sake stop complaining about it.

6 RespuestasEditado por seeweedbuscut: 11/3/2016 8:25:08 PM-To those pointing out the April update was free, realise that most people would've left Destiny if that hadn't dropped. People were already leaving due to the lack of content before April update, it only would've gotten much worse if it hadn't dropped. Know that was them saving their arses, not a fun live event. -To those pointing out the live events have all been free and you don't have to pay for the extras, that may be true, BUT: This FoTL is the second FoTL event. It's also the first live event after the dlc, so it's likely to set the tone with how we will be seeing live events in Y3. It's a huge drop from the Y2 event, were everything was obtainable for free except for the skull mask. Last years event people actually played. This year, most of the festival is locked behind a paywall, and the only reason i spent more than 3 hours on this year's, was because Candlelight wasn't dropping from strike chests. -To those who are all "I got a few shaders and a broom, I'm happy", remember, it took two goddam years for Bungie to release the most coveted shader out of the 4 (Superblack), so they really shouldn't be praised on that one. The broom will be taken off us after FoTL, and the other shaders are meh. -So effectively, Eververse was created to swindle money out of us for new "live events", which were a distinct drop in quality and were used to again swindle more out of us. I love Destiny but this really is stupid.

60 RespuestasI don't understand why people complain about micro transactions, no one is forcing you to buy anything. There are other methods of obtaining the items for example the 3 free treasures of the lost from the quest line, OK, the drop rate sucks at a two percent chance of getting one of the coolest items. But if your like me and strive to collect every cool item there is, spending a couple of bucks within your budget really is nothing to obtain them. None of the items for sale enhance game play in any way so your not missing out on much other than the cosmetic aspect of having something someone else doesn't have. For those people thinking about buying silver for a couple off chests, I spent 20 bucks and obtained every item other than one weapon skin, hell i even had the ghost ghost, and deviled ghost drop in one package.

2 RespuestasEditado por Zeromazaraza: 11/4/2016 4:31:50 PMWell, no. Eververse was created as a separate revenue stream for Bungie, requiring minimal development effort for maximum return on investment. It was built to sell players cosmetic items that don't significantly affect gameplay at a high margin. It's a tricky thing, to sell something useless to someone who is dumb enough to buy it without pissing them off by making them feel dumb. But Bungie has largely pulled it off. Yes, yes, I know. You are glad (heck overjoyed) that you spent your $20/$30/$50 or more on digital makeup. Also I know you're more than happy to troll me about all of the reasons why you weren't suckered. Good for you! No really, good for you. You're a genius. That's a really lovely ghost shell.

"Free" and "Bungie" don't go in the same sentence. Don't forget...........the $$$$ signs are what drives declension-making at Bungie.

3 RespuestasApril Update was funded by Eververse, and no one ever said it was free content from eververse
-
I like Trains

Is was made as a means of post-launch monetization while paid-content (Taken King | Rise of Iron) were launched / in the works. Eververse was introduced to benefit the company and provide a means to support the studio with microtransactions. That is the sole purpose of any cash-shop that is present in a game. In one of the statements regarding Eververse and what it means to the studio, I believe they intended for it to help fund the small live-team that was handling the patches, updates and general upkeep of Destiny while the large majority of the company is busy with the next Destiny 2 title (whatever/whenever that may be).

One word, microtransactions.

No, that was a lie. Microtransactions we're only ever added due to desperate greed to staunch the bleeding from players leaving. They weren't selling enough copies of the game.
-
2 RespuestasYou are sadly misguided if you ever thought for one minute that free content was the reasoning behind micro transactions! Wake up an smell the coffee. The thing is, i would have spent money there if I could choose what I want. The RNG means I will never spend money there.
-
They never specifically stated that microtransactions paid for in game content. In fact a statement made by Bungie specifically said "we don't consider microtransactions and paid content mutually exclusive". Though, I suppose they could be working on the theory of "well if nobody pays anything for the halloween event, we'll just punish them by not offering a holiday event" It's better to just accept that Bungivision thinks of you as easy money and figures most of the people they've manipulated into being addicted to their game will keep paying out money even if they give them nothing.
-
Well over £40 in and i finally got the flaming wolf mask, still no ghosts and don't think I can justify wasting any more money haha
-
Microtransactions are used to fund events which has content that are locked behind microtransactions, which funds more events that have content locked behind microtransactions that funds more events that have content locked behind microtransactions... It's like an endless cycle!
