I don't know if it's been mentioned in the comments, but I'd like to take some time to explain why. The Eliksni (Fallen) were obviously a noble house, in fact, the Traveller once visited them, and even stayed with them for a time, giving them the gifts it's given us, which explains why they're incredibly technologically advanced. But when the thing only referred to as "The Whirlwind" happened, the Traveller left. What The Whirlwind is, exactly, isn't known, but the main theory is The Whirlwind was Oryx and his Hive (Whether the Taken were there or not isn't known), invading the Eliksni and slaughtering them to feed the Hive's worms. However, the Eliksni may have been noble, but they were considered sinners by The Traveller, and it deemed them not worthy enough to harness it's power, and left them with no defence against "The Whirlwind." Which is why The Eliksni became known as "The Fallen." The Fallen, as they're known to us, are called such because of their slaughter and fall from Nobility, to waste scavengers, and pirates. They're constantly looking for technology and ether to grow stronger (Since the Fallen hierarchy is ether-based, that is, the bigger ration of ether, the bigger the fallen will grow and the more powerful they become). But most importantly, they're looking for a way to either destroy The Traveller as revenge for leaving them, or find a way to take it back (this isn't speculation, they'll literally settle for either). The Traveller refuses to give them it's gifts, or it's light, even if peace was made, The Fallen would be overcome with jealousy and hatred for The Traveller and eventually revert back to trying to take it back, and if there was peace and everyone's guard was down, they would have a much better chance of doing so.

2 RespuestasThat would make for a compelling, complex, and overall interesting story. Obviously it has no place in destiny.

Didn't know Guardians spoke Elinski. Variks speaks broken -insert language of where you live here- and that's it. There are no other Fallen that we know of that can do this. Unless Variks wants to be useful this DLC and teach us how to communicate with the Fallen, we can't do anything.

Sorry in advance for long text. This is the product of a series of events. Having left the Eliksni because of the Whirlwind, the Traveler arrived some time later in our Solar System where it began our Golden Age. Then the Collapse happened but the Traveler stayed, for various reasons, and now we have Ghosts and Guardians. Now the Eliksni didn't just stay to die. They took off, escaping the Whirlwind, scouring the universe for their Great Machine. And then they found it. But when they found it, it had a new civilization with it. Guarding it against them. In their zealotry, the Eliksni thought of us as enemies, and launched attacks all of the world. I would imagine it was here that they changed from being Eliksni to being the Fallen, but tjat's my opinion. London, Mumbai, and even launching an attack on the Last City in an effort to get rid of the aptly named Guardians holding their Great Machine in custody. But that didn't work, and only went on to establish the Titans as the heroic defenders of the people today. Guardians like Saint-14 and even Osiris are remembered for this battle, now called the Battle of Six Fronts. Then they tried again. This time, though, it wasn't just one House. It was the entire Fallen race. And we almost lost, had the million-strong House of Wolves not been stopped by the Awoken in the Reef Wars. The remaining Houses though, they fought for their Great Machine. It is here, in the Battle of Twilight Gap, that Saladin was called upon to lead the defense, along with his proteges Shaxx and Zavala. Many Guardians were lost in that battle, including powerful Guardians like Ana Bray. Her Golden Gun left pools of Light that are still there even today. So having done all of this without any prior aggression from the Guardians, how can we even consider uniting with them? Especially when we consider there are still Houses out there with such hatred that they look down upon even their own kind? They would stop at nothing to get at us, just look at how the Devil Splicers tried to use SIVA against us just now.

The Fallen thought we stole the Traveler They attacked We attacked Maybe we and the Fallen thought about making peace but then somebody on the other side -blam!-ed everything up.
-
An attempt should be made to form a peace. Allow the Fallen to join us and gain their Light back. But how long before the Traveler abandons us both? As it did the Eliksni before us.
-
No, we should wipe them out
-
We have their shit. They want it back. There will be no peace.
-
Lol @ spices.
-
The fallen also worship machine gods..... We have exos, problem solved
-
2 RespuestasTry making peace with an alien race that nearly wiped out our race and tell me how it goes....

3 RespuestasEditado por Swiftlock: 10/8/2016 1:10:09 AMBecause the Fallen slaughtered a bunch of people, ravaged the remains of Earth, conducted heinous experiments on the Hive, and want the Traveler for themselves. There also aren't many humans/Exos/Awoken left and it'd be foolish to leave ourselves open to betrayal. On top of all this, the Guardians already have the power to destroy gods, come back from the dead, and create constructs out of light. We don't need any alliances.

Because they have no oil reserves?

-
Only if they leave our planet. Aliens not welcome.
-
Why would they agree? They have control of 99% of the earth and outnumber humanity 100 to 1 at least.

Are the Fallen like Salt and Pepper?
-
They do not care for other species, all they want is the traveler "The Great Machine" they call it
-
I don't think they want peace. Also, the Traveller probably left them for a reason.
-
Yeah, except we like to kill all of their leaders and such. We just killed another one. Probably too late for that
-
They were but the traveler left them and wont take them back

Inb4 Saint. It would be great to make peace with the fallen because we'd be able to reclaim like, 97% of earth. The one issue however, is that the fallen attacked us without provocation. (or so I've been lead to believe) There's going to be a ton of hard feelings and "peace" would be...difficult, to say the least. Not impossible, but arduous.

4 RespuestasBecause humans are assholes I believe there's a grimore card that say the fallen tried to make peace with us at first an were turned away
