I was about to say the same thing.... doesn't make sense it cost you a shard every time you level up your weapon or armor..... I'm almost out of shards myself

Just farm them from the exotic kiosk at the tower. It's the easiest thing ever.

I think they patched that. I did it a few days ago and only got 1 shard in return. Unless it was a fluke.

I just did it yesterday. You need to spend motes on the heavy to get it fully upgraded. It only takes 6 if you've got a telemetry or increased upgrade rate gear.

I did that. Must have glitched on me. I bought Thunderlord, leveled it completely with motes and then dismantled it. Got 1 exotic shard. Thought Bungie patched it. Guess I'll try again today.

Huh, it worked great for me yesterday. I thought that at one point they even suggested people use that method.

How do you farm it?

Buy thunderlord/truth for 1 exotic shard Use heavy weapon XP booster from gunsmith Use 6 motes of light Dismantle for 2 exotic shards Glimmer is going to be your main problem.

lol buy the exotics you don't need mote of light it then dismantle for 2..

When HoW dropped, it took about 50 helmet engrams to get the ram. So, still have an abundance.

I'm overloaded on exotic shards because I had 7 and for whatever reason transferring a few of them multiplied all of them by 10.

It's cheaper to buy them from the kiosk. 2500 glimmer and 6 motes.

When you don't have any shards this didn't work
