Last week, I completed a the raid 5 times (3 times for rewards, twice to help out friends) and EVERY RAID i went into, someone would moan at me for using sleeper simulant instead of gjallarhorn/iron gjallarhorn) People should know by now that sleeper does so much more damage than gjallarhorn, as ghorn took a big nerf before the dlc dropped.
Basically, if you have sleeper, USE IT. It's the second most damaging weapon at asksis, only losing to the cannons. To get the most damage use 3x sleepers 3x cannons, weapons of light, tether and Viking funeral. so much damage
GHORN IS NOT AS GODLY AS IT WAS IN YEAR 1

1 RespuestaEditado por chickengoujohn93: 10/7/2016 8:56:52 AMThat means you have to stand idle in front of the Scorch Captain taking hits whilst Sleeper charges for a couple of seconds. With Gally, I can jump shoot in a general direction from a safe zone, kill the Captain and any ads that may be around him in an instant. That's the difference between Gally and Sleeper.

39 RespuestasEditado por SpakulatorX: 10/5/2016 8:47:47 PMTried one with someone using a sleeper He 1. Never once helped wipe the captain 2. Did the least dps in the group 3. Was a douche So I've concluded all players who use the sleeper are selfish, douche bags that don't want to help with captains, using a gun that although does the highest per shot damage in the game is out dpsed by most mg. Ghorn at least is versitile and can be used to dps and kill captains and heat cups of soup. Not mine, badass gaming proving sleeper is a horrible dps weapon. It's from ttk though and try use a y1 ghorn in it, so ignore ghorn dps. Be nice to see them do it again with y3 weapons. https://youtu.be/g9o6h_lRkTc I'll be leaving any group using sleeper.

4 RespuestasMy team runs 6 Raze Lighters and we 2 Phase him every time. Literally drop him to the comma in the first round.
-
Just tried using Sleeper in response to this post. Pretty much everyone else using Gjallarhorn. On Aksis. I was on top in terms of damage every time. Just have to hit the shots.
-
6 RespuestasHaha, I'm pretty sure the Raze Lighter does more damage than the Gjallarhorn at this point.
-
Datto put out a video earlier this week comparing the two using all the numbers with it. They're pretty identical, as long as you hit crits with sleeper. https://youtu.be/ON__V_HYGWE

15 RespuestasThe Sleeper is a waste of a good heavy/exotic slot. I still prefer the Black spindle and cannon combo. The sleeper fires to slow and if you miss a critical shot you have lost most of your dps. Keep your cannon and charge every shot during all dps rounds switch to BS and 6 critical shots on average for massive damage. It is hard to tell how much dps everyone is doing too because the players throwing the orbs get massive damage too. Then if you are empowered and have to switch sides you lose dps. Basically GHorn add control, stationary boss Black Spindle and if you are using a scout for add control. Go to bed and rethink things. Get up go to vault and dismantle all scout rifles except Mida and Shadow. Oh yeah the Sleeper is good for something!!! An EXOTIC SHARD!!!!! Looking forward to seeing how the Outbreak Prime stacks up though.

Exactly. Nerf fusion rifles

I agree, also when noone is shooting rockets at the boss he just sits there perfectly still for sniper shots.

4 RespuestasThanks! I am planning on trying to rain tomorrow for the first time so I guess I will have to get mine ranked up as high as I can!

I didnt read the comments but ill say anyway that sleeper is hands down better than gally at boss dps. There is no comparison. But gally is way more affective, or effective idk, on other enemies. Gally takes out adds better than sleeper, sleeper dishes out damage better than gally and i think thats the way it should be. Makes both guns very viable choices for the raid
-
I use both but I think it is way easier shooting ghorn close to the captain and let tracking do its thing than trying to get a perfect precision shot. That's a little more tough.
-
1 RespuestaLol. Thank you iv had so many arguments over that point, how people don't see that is nuts. it holds more ammo, in both the chamber and stock, you get more per heavy pick up, and does three times the damage.

9 RespuestasNot a scientific test, but I used Sleeper to headshot the Ultra Knight. It took his health to the K. I went to orbit, came back and shot the Ultra Knight with one Gjallahorn rocket. It took his health down further, I think under the A. Attack value was pretty close on the two weapons and there were no buffs, debuff etc involved. Obviously the Ultra Knight is low level, but the same logic probably applies. The big advantage for Sleeper is ammo capacity imo.

While op is right (Dattos video goes into further detail) it doesn't really matter a huge amount what heavy you use as long as your team gets the cannons into Aksis, my team all run swords as there heavies to kill the captains as quick as possible and we can kill Aksis in 3 phases only using 2 pillars and also saving a cannon on the last phase for when Aksis hits 5%
-
It's not about ghorn being weaker it's about the critical shots you can land with sleeper . I definitely agree with you

1 RespuestaTaken Tots and Iron Pups will never know the adrenaline-filled rush of blasting a Dreg with a pre-nerf Y1 Ghorn and laughing in a fit of maniacal rage as the Wolfpack rounds danced upon the Dreg's lifeless corpse.
-
It doesn't do "so much more damage" than gjallarhorn. It's slightly better.
-
5 RespuestasI don't even use ghally for dps. Just to kill the captains. You are doing enough dps with just snipers and cannons.
