the burst mode needs a bit higher rof than full auto to actually be viable, and the semi-auto more impact.

6 RespuestasIt would be nice if they added an on the fly switch to fire modes. Start off with it in scout for this long range encounters and when someone rushes in on ya, boom auto rifle mode. That would be the cats ass in my opinion

I like the idea of the gun but...I just feel like I have absolutely no reason to use it. My hex castor and shadow price beat it's full auto modes. It won't match with the those hawksaw and gap of malok that everyone farmed for. And it certainly won't match any scout rifle at their range. It kinda just feels like the gun exists merely for nostalgia and nothing else. Not worth an exotic slot imo :/

3 RespuestasI would honestly like it if they could make it so that, depending on the fire mode and fire rate you pick, the weapon would turn into something similar to popular archetypes. Burst + High RPM = Grasp of Malok Burst + Low RPM = Red Death? Semi + High RPM = MIDA? Semi + Low RPM = Cocytus? Auto + High RPM = Arminius or the second next in terms of ROF Auto + Low ROF = Classic Khovostov I guess. Just to clarify, I'm referring to the archetypes, not the actual guns themselves. This way it wouldn't be neither underpowered nor overpowered, but at a right spot. Its whole purpose is nostalgia anyways. Since we're sacrificing an exotic slot for what could otherwise be achieved with a mere legendary, might as well bet something decent.

1 RespuestaThe thing is no matter how its modded the khvostov is still an auto rifle. The firing modes simply alter the firing modes. What should happen is that the firing modes actually change the weapons impact range and stability based on the weapon subclass. The firing rate chaning the archetype of the weapon subclass. The khovostov as is will always have an auto rifles impact and range. So the two alternative firing modes are useless as is while it still holds auto rifle stats.

Yes it does need a buff wend it comes to impact on the 900rpm firing rate it like come on bungie made it good on the outside so what about inside where it counts.

I don't think it should quite be on part with the actual weapon types but it definitely feels like it needs to do a little more damage on those fire types.
