Hey guys, dont feel the need to read this rant. Im just bored and wanted to say it:)
Anyone else gotten fed up with all the dead ends that Bungie have put into the story in the campaign? Stuff just happens or gets mentioned and then NEVER heard from again.
I understand that the 'story' isn't what Destiny is about, its more to with the strikes and raids etc, but would it kill them to actually give an answer on stuff.
For instance, the 'stranger' from the vanilla destiny. Where the -blam!- did she go? She was in the tiniest amount of story hinting at bigger things and she hasnt been seen since. Over two years ago she was in the story and now nothing!
Or the speaker? Who the hell is he and why should we give a damn?
The traveller, will he ever come out of disco ball mode?
The darkness. Supposed to be so damn threatening, but you never see it?
Oryx, where did the scary twat go? We ever gonna see him again?
Where did the queen go? Supposedly shes still alive. If so, why hasnt anyone gone to save her ass?
Why are we the only guardian doing anything? Saladin said that if SIVA ever spreads its gonna mean the end of everything. So why are we the only -blam!-er going to sort it out!
Why are the fallen and hive etc viewed as a threat? We as individual guardians are capable of demolishing mountains of these guys, and theres an army of guardians.
Is Saladins voice in Rise of Iron, the same as optimus prime!? Am I the only one who hears it?
And lastly the main thing I personally wanna know. Who the hell is Rasputin? Bungie seems to keep changing their mind about whether he is supposed to be a good guy or a bad guy? He was supposed to be a warmind protecting Earth. But he 'supposedly' shot at the traveller. But then he helps us in a couple missions/strikes. But then Zavala says he killed the last guardians who came to make contact. And then in Rise of Iron it turns out he killed a whole load of Iron Lords. And Saladin says 'the vanguard still think of him as a warmind but he hasnt been that for a very long time'. Then what the hell is he? I doubt it'll ever even be mentioned again. And If he genuinely killed Iron Lords, then why did no one go to stop him? Why is there no mission to kill Rasputin? If he's killing us off and he's right here on Earth then surely he is more of a threat than the fallen?
So what do you guys think? And dont start with 'your looking to much into it you noob' or crap like that. I feel as a gamer I have a right to expect to explore the story of a game im playing.
And also dont bother saying things along the lines of 'Bungie Logic'. We've all know for a while that Bungie dont have any logic...
TLDR Verson - Every DLC Bungie releases seems to start off a story and not actually end it so it just leaves you with more questions than answers. I get that they have some '10 Year Plan' for Destiny but realistically I doubt Destiny will make it to 10 years...

2 RespuestasYour grimoire score is only 2990. You want a story read the book. It's in the grimoire. Thank Bungie for not killing this game with stupid ass cut scenes. I'm here to play a game not watch a movie.
-
Not sure I'm the only one but I saw that ending fight coming for the last mission I really just didn't want to do it

On the regicide mission after we beat Oryx he retreats to his ascendant realm where he can heal. We follow him into his sword realm where it's the only place we can kill him and the only place he can die. The only way we can beat him is by making his worm devour him. The worm needs light to eat and if it doesn't receive it then it consumes its host. We denied oryx of our light and his worm consumed him, his body is currently in Saturn as that's where he was heading after we killed him.

And SIVA?
We destroyed the origin of SIVA
and after that

We killed the Archon Prime and his sidekick who were the the reason for this SIVA outbreak

That's not a loose end imo. Lol

Space magic.

2 RespuestasThe exo hunter at the vanguard table, can't remember his name but Nathan fillion does the voice, there are lots of hints that his A.I. was Rasputin and he is unaware of his past while the other guardians would like to keep it that way

1 RespuestaList not in order on my end Oryx dies in the raid. Its kinda obvious what happens to him. Queen is dead unless shown otherwise. The Exo Stranger is hinted to return eventually via the "No Time to Explain" exotic questline. Probably supposed to come back in Destiny 2 (which to my understanding would have been coming out this year but some sorta contract thing that Bungie didn't account for caused them to make RoI? Either way Destiny 2.) Traveler is healing, leave a message at the beep. Also since the game does have planned sequels the Traveler probably isn't supposed to actually become active till atleast the halfway point of whatever story they have. Speaker will probably have more relevence before the Traveler, probably in the next game as well. Darkness: Probably gonna be the overall final boss, and if you are counting the grimoire cards instead of only what shows up in the campaign is featured in the Book of Sorrow cards. We aren't the only Guardians doing things...cause the other players are doing things. As far as the story is concerned your character is currently the best one, but other Guardians are helping with the new threat. Humanity is vastly, VASTLY outnumbered by every enemy race except maybe the Fallen. Most Guardians can't reach our level of power (at best the story would probably presume only up to 5 others match you to go along with the raid), and given that ressurections are actually acknowledged by the story that clearly is taken into account for how we can do what we do. The Hive still have atleast three gods left who possibly have become stronger than Oryx, Fallen's House of Kings has only been encountered once and appears to be the strongest in the system and possibly working with the Darkness already. Also may have Siva since the Devils work for them. Vex are still a huge unknown and can pull from an army spanning billions of years, and the Cabal only had a small part of their overall military in our system. And who knows what other forces might be out there ready to take humanity down if we somehow defeated all four enemy factions. Rasputin is crazy. Crazy awesome at times, but crazy. We'll almost certainly learn more about him either in Destiny 2 or, possibly, in an "April" update if we have another one. For now he seems to trust us and isn't off making friends with enemy factions.

And I thought Lost was bad :/ I think bungie forgot the traveler even existed
-
Ikr! Bungie starts the story in each dlc but never finishes it. We wait for the stranger to return, but now we much fight crota. Then we wait to find out why the nine released Skolas, but instead we have to fight oryx. Then we wait yo find out if the queen is alive, but now we have to fight Siva. And now we are wondering if Rasputin can be trusted and none of the other questions have been answered

Yeah ,now you got it. Now follow thread... ...Cause there's sooo much more... .... Wow... .... -BLAM!- Now forget about it, kid 'cause that's all you're getting!

Just based off title, didn't read your post (no disrespect, didn't peak my interest) but Destiny is a growing game. Very possible that they will pick up on other unfinished parts of the story later on.
-
You would HATE Game of Thrones...
I love it though
-
I'm probably in the minority here, but I've never really given a crap about the story lines in video games. So the fact that destiny isn't hardcore driven by story doesn't bother me at all.
-
1 RespuestaThe Stranger didn't have time to explain why she didn't have time to explain.
-
I think they did well with the story. It's better than the Y1 stories where they are just scanning, shooting, bullet sponge bosses and thats it
-
The story is supposed to develop as the game moves forward. I'm not saying they're doing an amazing job at it, but the idea is that we're still early in to the story. Remember their "10 year plan"? Plus it's not all dead ends. The hive story is essentially wrapped up for now.
-
Do you even read bro?
-
Yes Need more story line. I was hoping to know when SIVA started or Rusputin went bad. ROI had the shortest story line and less mission. Bungie need to give us more or at least have a begin when the colony went down and who was the first enemy arrived into our solar system when the traveler arrived. I know Destiny is a 10 year project at least have more story mission to explain things.
-
I agree with the Rasputin part. He's definitely more bad than good. Maybe he's the next raid boss?
-
You read my mind. I was just thinking about all this the other day after finishing the RoI story. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but yeah, there are too many story starts and then nothing ever comes of it. I feel like RoI should have been a side story happening in conjunction with the main story from Vanilla to Taken King. After the story in Taken King, Siva seems like a minor threat. It needed to be dealt with, but it just seemed sort of anticlimactic after everything else that has happened.

2 Respuestasyeah, the story seems like it was put together on the back of matchbooks while being drunk of their asses. The story bugs me no end. Roi seems to be the worst. we don't know how the iron lords find siva in the first place, rasputins part in all this and why he chose to kill the iron lords in the first place. Seems more or light= good, darkness= bad
