People just need to realize there are very few people on either extreme. Just Internet and media blow them up and make the issue seem like a black and white race war and you [i]must[/i] choose a side. Another aspect that is often overlooked is that the extreme racism expressed by some officers in [i]some[/i] incidents is a very precinct by precinct phenomenon. Just because the cops in your neighborhood are the nicest people you'll ever meet, hang out and do fun community events doesn't mean racist, abusive cops don't exist. The same goes for the opposite. If one cop acts like a racist nut job that does not imply all cops act like this. For some reason people tend to think all of the police in America are one group and generalizations are ok to make. The reality is no one is for police brutality toward any ethnic group so that issue should be addressed by the people as a cohesive movement to weed out and hold officers to higher standards. It's completely ridiculous to ignore and brush off any shooting of an innocent as that is exactly what the police are supposed to prevent. We are all Americans, we are all people, and when you say all lives matter actually mean it. Don't just spew it as BS to further 'your' side of the media led race war. Yes accidents can happen and there will never be 0 police shootings of innocents nationwide however certain precincts do have higher rates of innocent killings, some have higher rates of stereotyping, etc and these issues should all be addressed and we should be striving to get the amount of police violence to 0 not just ignore it because we haven't been witnesses. It's not a national epidemic but it is a problem in some areas and those areas should be targeted and programs should be designed to reform the police as well as forge a new trusted relationship with the people.

Edit: not to mention that it's becoming an all black/all white thing. even if you support BLM, if you were white and showed up to protest/riot with them, chances are you would get beating up by the BLM that you support just cause you are white

The problem is that there isn't any real organization to the group so anybody can call themselves a part of BLM, including rioters. Furthermore, when the riots do break out the few "leaders" of BLM don't strongly condone the violence. Yeah, they might say we don't support this, we want peace and then they go on about police brutality and give excuses to why the riots started. BLM members need to go to the riots and actively show that they truly want peace. They need to be the people who stop the rioters from getting involved. As of now they sit back and let the riots happen. For example in Milwaukee we saw two different groups, both of which are considered a part of BLM. The first group were the people who burned down shops, targeted white people, and caused a riot. However, two days later a actual peaceful movement came along where people came together and helped clean up the mess. They even had a picnic at Sherman park (where this all happened).
