How to get Thorn Year 3
All credit goes to the original founder on reddit. Link is at the bottom.
You get the quest randomly when turning in bounties to Shiro at Felwinter's Peak. From that the steps are:
Step 1: Echoes of Darkness: Face "The Wretched Eye" and defeat Kovik, the Devil Splicers' high priest. Doesn't matter what difficulty
Step 2: Harvest of the Lesser: Wipe out Fallen in the Plaugelands to feed the weapon's appetite. Quite a bit of splicers have to be killed.
Step 3: Feast Upon the Light: Use Void Damage to defeat Guardians in the Crucible. Private matches don't count. (No death penalty)
Step 4: Cleansed by The Light: Consume Motes of Light to Cleanse yourself and the weapon. 5 motes.
Step 5: Where it Began: Find a Skeleton Key and open the Strike Hoard at the end of "The Abomination Heist" Strike.
And thats it! Now I just gotta get the quest to drop.

4 RespuestasSounds alot easier than the thorn bounty was in year one. Crucible part was 500 points, +5 void kill and -2 getting killed or maybe it was -3. Any way sounds like a better deal

25 RespuestasCall me bitter if you like, but I feel that there should be a death penalty with the crucible part of the quest. Yr 1 thorn bounty made me want to jump off a bridge, but I stuck with it and eventually got it done. I actually did yr 1 thorn bounty a second time for the hell of it....... Yr3 thorn owners will never know the struggle

Plus the new relic that reduces dot that will further neuter it. This gun was hard as shit to get and thats why its effectiveness should not have been destroyed. Edit: I am not saying Thorn did not need a nurf, just that it was so over-nurfed that now its just a cool gun for casual players to look at. It isnt a viable option at all anymore.

Bump for later, thanks for the post. I have the quest... I thought it was just another standard RoI quest and I was going to get around to it whenever. But now that I know it's for Thorn, I'm jumping on it tonight! As for the no dealth penalty, yes, year 3 guardians will never understand the struggle that was year one Thorn. But whatever, I don't care. I'm happy to have the gun back regardless!
