So far so good. I had a little time to kill before work today, so I logged a bit of time, played a bit of the campaign, collected some gear and weapons.
The good:
1. The atmosphere is terrific. Leaving old gen appears to be paying immediate dividends in the visuals.
2. The light snow falling in the Plaguelands is outstanding. Wolves roaming at Felwinter's are cool.
3. The weapons I've gotten so far appear effective in the campaign and aren't intrinsically ugly or distracting. The Crucible vendor scout in particular so far is a winner for me. I have a scout, auto rifle shotgun, and have also picked up some blues I used to infuse my way to 341.
4. Progression seems to be quick for now, though it will undoubtedly slow once I hit chokepoints.
The bad:
1. There is recycled content. It's handled well so this isn't terrible, but yeah, it's there.
2. It may be that I didn't have time to completely look around, but I didn't find the vault at Felwinter's. I'm probably just stupid (I hope so), but if not, it's going to be unhandy to have to go to the Tower and then to Felwinter's to take care of tasks (similar to how there is no arms dealer in the Reef).
The ugly:
1. There was really nothing yet I felt was awful. I'm sure stuff will pop up, but so far the ride is smooth.
