Everyone has a long ranged or 1 shot kill melee.
Hunters- They have blink strike, smoke gernades, and throwing knives. Each of these has its own cooldown.
Titans- You have sholder charge which doesn't take a melee charge but does take time to activate. Storm fist takes about 3/4 health away.
Warlocks- You have thunder strike, which has a lot of range but takes a melee charge and takes about 1/2 health. The radiance 1 hit melee only procks during your super.
IMO, I think all the melees are balanced right now. Maybe a sholder charge buff to bring it back. Maybe.
btw, I main a warlock, so this may be biased, I tried to not make it be tho
Edit 1: Since the range seems very unpopular, and the majority disagrees with me, how about a 1 meter range reduction? Nothing to terrible to destroy the ability, but somthing to make it not have as much range.
-
I don't think it needs a range reduction, just make it have damage fall off or a smaller hit box. As of right now, the hit box is far too forgiving, and there's not enough of a risk for such a high reward.
-
1 RespuestaOk, so, I know this will come up, the one hit melee if meleed, titans can also get the same thing. AC/DC Feedback fence ring a bell? If you get meleed, you damage the enemy, so your next melee will essentially kill them. It's just like warlocks one hit kill Also not sure about this so dont kill me if its wrong but I think feedback doesn't work if you have your melee charged.

2 RespuestasI've been saying this for so long. Every subclass has their own special bit of awesomeness, so why not enjoy what you have?
I know nobody will listen to logic but it's true.
Editado por NeekoMcCool: 9/20/2016 4:40:25 PMBlink strike was no where near as long a range as thunder strike but was still nerfed to almost normal melee range. Throw knifes were 100 times harder to hit than thunderstrike is and yet they were nerfed. Titan shoulder charge, nerfed. So unless they plan on buffing those things back, Thunderstrike needs nerf as well.
-
Blink strike activities in a certain proximity, same thing with throwing knives, hence the hunter plunders where they try to use said melee but they a regular knife swing even with melee charged. Titans do have OP melees but honestly it's easy to counter. Also thunder strike has the greatest melee range out of them all and the certain proximity for it too activate is huge, I'm a warlock enthusiast, but it does need some reduction. I have also played on all three character types so I know these issues first hand

6 RespuestasThe feed back perk gives u a 1 hit melee just like u trigger sc it needs to be triggered

1 RespuestaWhat about my poor sunstrike
-
13 RespuestasOkay yeah you didn't explain at all why it's not OP. lol SC DEFINITELY does not need a buff. The nerf was a welcome one and a good compromise to level-headed people. Thunderstrike isn't over powered but that range is just BS. Pretty sure it's further than blink strike and does more damage than a knife. I'm not gonna scream nerf just because I'm tired of nerfs, but that range is a bit ridiculous.

14 RespuestasI have a better reasoning: The Titan and Hunter have a far better ability to close the gap on their adversaries than the Warlock does. That's why Titans and Hunters are so heavily favored: High mobility allows them to catch people very quickly. ALL Warlocks have a more ranged melee for that exact reason. It picks up the slack in the mobility department.

Stupid posts like this don't help your claim

Editado por Tunikas: 9/20/2016 1:58:26 AMmelee: just go private and check it out, the titan and the hunter actually jumpes at the target and has around the same melee range as a void walker. Stormcaller is something diffrent. Being close after the melee is a diffrent matter. And you have to be on the ground with you target also on the ground. But the general melee range is pretty similar. Make suggestions after you observe carefully. We can talk about it, but its not so simple. PS: Your suggestion related to the super gets my like!

6 RespuestasEditado por HELP1NG HAND: 9/19/2016 1:21:04 PMI disagree entirely. Warlocks have an energy blast melee that has the range of a shotgun, which also gains bonus damage and extra abilities while the melee is charged. Strikers do have the shoulder charge, but that's not their class melee ability, nor can it just be up and activated at any time with just the push of a button. Its a perk which must be selected in favor of two other perks, both of which grant increased survivability. Titans in general get a melee with a little lunge to it, the same T-rex arms that everyone knows and loves to mock. While their melee is charged, those stubby little mitts inflict bonus damage and/or proc an ability. Hunters get a bit of a lunge, and a big knife with which to stab holes in people. When their melee ability is charged, that melee attack changes dramatically into either a longer, instantaneous lunge, a knife that is hurled at the target, or a chemical weapon delivered via a thrown canister. It is important to note also that two of these melee abilities exhaust their charge when activated regardless of whether or not the thrown weapon actually connects with anything. Basically, the Warlock's standard melee inflicts the same damage as any other standard melee, but has range superior to over half of all other charged melee abilities in the game. And that's just their standard melee attack. Their charged melee ability layers extra damage, abilities, and in the case of the Stormcaller's Emperor Palpatine zap, even more range on top of that.

38 RespuestasEditado por NyDeviiant: 9/19/2016 1:28:57 PMAs much as I hated warlock melee's (thunderstrike specifically) I didn't ask for a nerf for it, BUT when people make post about balanced comparisons to subclasses melee I've got to just laugh. You have got to be accurate with throwing knives to get a hit with it you can't just press RB any and everytime, people can sidestep it EASILY, you CANNOT side step a warlocks melee ESPECIALLY thunderstrike. You know how many times I've hit walls or a floor with throwing knife? I've gotten hit by a warlocks melee around a corner, show me a throwing knife that can do that. Also they just nerfed throwing knives damage and it's burn perk doesn't activate all the time, yet you have the nerves to compare it to thunderstrike? Lmaoo
-
All of the melee range are fine except thunderstrike when you have amplitude activated. Thunderstrike on its own is enough of a range melee.
-
1 RespuestaEditado por MrMelonized: 9/19/2016 2:24:06 AMI think everyone just bitches about anything that kills them. Wombo Combo, Amplitude Thunderstrike, Throwing Knives, Shoulder Charge, Tracking Scatter Grenades and the list goes on. I hope Bungie doesn't listen to these people who bitch and moan all the time because they are the ones who are ruining this game.

1 RespuestaYou can melee the shoot a shotgun and do 50 damage with it and get the kill
-
Hunters don't have as much range, blink strike, throwing knives you have to aim, and smoke grenades do 8 damage a hit
-
Nerf the range of amplitude a bit, half the range you would normally gain as extra range. EXAMPLE: normal range bonus +8m (not treu just a example) now gives you +4m. to compensate, buff arcbolt and pulse grenade. (maybe storm grenade)

6 RespuestasShoulder...charge buff?

2 RespuestasIts not op especially when combined with my special shotgun 😂

2 RespuestasHold up....Those hunter ability you just mentioned have a much higher chance of missing the mark than your thunderstrike does. Blink Strike Short stops like crazy, throwing knife (which got nerfed for a reason that NOT A SINGLE PERSON EVER COMPLAINED ABOUT) and smoke bomb do miss if the target oh I don't know jumps to the side? Meanwhile you have a melee that can kill someone from a ridiculous range with that perk that doesn't penalize you in any shape or form for using it. I ran two games on my warlock with that build (before I deleted it to get a Khostov again) with a bonus damage to melees shotty and was easily able to be in the top 3 just tagging people with a shotty and smacking them with Thunderstrike. Heck did a few games with a party crasher without the bonus melee damage perk and still top 3 just tagging and smacking people. Thunderstrike with that doubled ranged perk is too strong without a down side to it. Smoke bombs got balanced so to kill someone with it effectivly you had to actually hit them and people can jump out of the smoke, Blink strike still needs work, and everyone is still giving Bungie the WTF look on the throwing knife nerf. Titans did get an extension to those Trex arms but those still like to whiff. Warlocks tho, Scorch hits most of the time, Energy Drain hits as often as Scorch does, and Thunkerstrike hits more often then either of those. Being killed by Thunderstike at its Max range is like being mapped with a Last Word back in HoW, its bad balancing and its gonna get nerfed so be prepared to take your own advice and adapt to the nerf when it comes, though I doubt it will be with RoI I wanna say they'd do a Class re-balancing sometime after.
-
2 RespuestasStorm fist is designed to take half health. Throwing knife do a little bit less than half. Blink strike only one shots from behind. Smoke hardly does any damage. Scorch causes lingering damage depending on your set up. Thunder strike can chain to enemies plus the range makes it a little op

3 RespuestasMelee at shot gun range following a shotgun blast = easy top 3 scorer. It's fun. That being said, it's guaranteed to get nerfed. (Because it is fun.)
