I hope private matches count towards KD so people start boosting and the stat becomes completely useless.

It never will, and by boosting their K/D when SBMM kicks in, non-private, matches they will get their shit kicked in
-
KD doesn't have anything to do with SBMM
-
It does...
-
No it doesn't.
-
Lol yes it does......
-
-blam!- I wish I did not have to type this on my iPhone.... Regardless of which methodology Destiny uses to determine "skill", While K/D may not be used to directly calculate said "skill" it is a derivative of players skill. Better the player better his/hers K/D.

I'd agree with that. It's still not used for MM though. It's just stat that the community says equals skill. I don't think it's that accurate though. If you're playing against scrubs then of course it's going to be higher but that doesn't mean you're good. If you play against people of your skill level then it will naturally be lower but your aren't necessarily bad. Anyways that's why I hope it becomes boostable in private matches. Make it become so unreliable people stop using it to compare dicks... I mean skill.

It 100 percent factors into skill based matchmaking. Because that's exactly what KD is, it's is a stat saying hey you get more kills then deaths. It isn't the only stat used in SBMM but you better believe it is a large one, as I'm sure Win/Loss and things along those lines are as well.

Halo never used KD so I can't imagine they would start using it in destiny. Chances are Destiny uses some evolution of trueskill. It worked pretty well so I doubt they would change much.
-
That's because halo had a straight ranked playlist and to rank up you had to be winning therefore most of the time having a positive KD
-
Editado por Kilo: 9/7/2016 3:36:51 PMWell of course naturally you would have a higher KD from winning but it has nothing to do with MM which was the point I was originally making. If private matches affect KD then people can boost all they want but it won't affect who they play in MM.
-
Private matches won't effect KD and Destiny's SBMM is nothing like Halo's. Halo you had a rank, in destiny you don't so for SBMM they use KD and Wins and I'm sure some other things and until they add a ranked playlist which seems overdue, and they continue to use this flawed form of SBMM you will be running into a lot of kids with similar KDs.
-
Editado por Kilo: 9/7/2016 3:44:01 PMUnranked playlists in Halo used SBMM too. It was just invisible like it is in Destiny. And I'm not saying private matches affect KD. I said if they do...
-
They did it right in halo. Why they can't do the same in destiny I don't know.
-
No dude..... That was the point of social matches...... So you didn't have to try your ass off every game like you do in destiny. All you got in social matches was XP. Like big team battle lol that wasn't skill based believe me I had a 3 KD in halo which means nothing yeah fine, but I wasn't playing anywhere near that caliber of players in social playlists. Because that was the point of them.

Until Bungie discloses how they calculate MM, we really won't know. Do I do hope people boost their K/D, getting hate mail is rewarding. It's why I keep my titans/locks k/d low...
