I met my fireteam IRL :)

[spoiler]Why do people have to explain everything to you in this place[/spoiler]
So I've been playing Destiny with two other guys regularly, for a while now.
One of them I know from the 360 days, back in HoW and the other has been off and on for a while, but became a steady team mate this last spring.
I play with these guys daily. We chit chat about everything and nothing. We also live in kind of the same general area of the country.
Last night we finally met up and grabbed our first beer together. It was so strange to watch.
Here's this kid that just finished high school. Then there's this tall skinny dude in his mid 20's and a 32 year old man. Sitting in a bar, talking for 3 hours straight. Laughing and teasing each other about stuff from a video game. If anyone tried to eavesdrop they would not be able to make out what the -blam!- we were saying. So funny.
I had never met them before in real life, but like, as soon as we saw each other we just started yapping on and on. It wasn't like "Oh I've never seen this person in my life. This is awkward". No. It was like we were in party chat being business as usual.
A great evening and I think we bonded even more.
There, just wanted to share this with everyone :) Destiny is so much more than just another video game.

I met a dude on my fire team once. Been playing together for 5 years or so and we met up in Houston. He had the connect for some badass Cajun food.

2 RespuestasBack in the old HoW days I had a regular fire team I played with. We were all from different parts of the country but now 3 of us are in the same graduate school to become pharmacists together.

4 RespuestasSame here but on bigger scale. Back in 2000 I played a game called dawn of aces. Was a ww1 aircombat game on pc. Had a convention in ohio met guys from all over who I talked too on headset for past 2 years. Was hillarious. Drank scotch and met face to face people I had been shooting down and vice versa for years. Funny how you picture some people then meet them real life and they are opposite what ya pictured). Was a total blast that weekend. Was well worth it and made even more friends that I still talk to today.

Does accidentally meeting someone i play with at an X-wing tournament count as meeting your fireteam? If so, I've done it.

I'm from the Netherlands. If I hadn't broken my leg I would have spent part of the summer in the Dordogne in France, with part of my clan ... we rented a nice 15th century house with a large private pool. It's good to have friends who play Destiny.

I met one of mine too. Had to fly out but it was worth it. Couldn't see the other one which sucked but seeing one was still pretty cool

Nice, one guy i play with regularly lives an hour away and we meet up occasionally, i wish i other guy didnt live so far away, in Scotland!

I travelled from Va to Long Island a couple times to meet with clan mates. Once a year we would have a LAN party for a weekend. Always good times.
