... awesome
...helping to keep the gaming industry alive
...continuing a great community
...going to have a great time
see you in Felwinter Peak guardians.
Edit 4: I'm putting this at the top of the edits as it's my reply to quite a common comment here. Some people are saying preorders are bad for the gaming industry as it takes away the incentive for Developers to make a good game. They also say that the devs are getting all our money and then just kind of giving up on the project and don't care anymore because they already have our money. My response to this is, Forget about preorders for a second. When a game is released and they make millions of dollars from people buying the game. Does that mean they no longer care, they no longer put money into the game, they ignore the fan base and say hey we have their money now, we don't need to listen to them anymore. No, they don't. They hire people to patch the game, do updates to the game, make new content for the game etc. (this isn't just about Bungie and Destiny btw, I mean ALL developers). Do you really think that the devs want to sell a bad game? You are really really stupid if you think they no longer care bacuase they have your money.
Edit: for those saying this community is not good, don't judge the community based on the forums. A lot of the forums are a horrendous part of the community. Go to places like this to see how good the community really is.
Edit 2: This whole post is in response to this so when I said 'helping to keep the gaming industry alive' I didn't mean that preordering this DLC is single handedly helping keep it alive. I was merely saying the opposite to this guy who thinks it's killing the gaming industry, I don't think it is.
Edit 3: this whole post is in response to this post. I don't actually think pre-ordering is keeping the gaming industry alive. The gaming industry is already alive and it isn't going anywhere, it was just a response to that dumb comment saying pre-ordering is killing the gaming industry.

2 RespuestasLmao great community?
-
9 RespuestasYou're actually jumping the gun and might want to wait for reviews. But hey what the hell Gjallerhorn! Lol I'll be waiting for many a review.
-
2 RespuestasHow is paying for something in advance keeping the game industry alive? You didn't really give any kind of reason for it and I have a lot of doubts that it's a fact.
-
3 RespuestasPreordering made sense when games actually sold out all the time, but now you can just buy a copy on the internet and get it the same day it ships. Preordering is not necessary anymore for anything, except inflating the egos of developers. They seem to think popularity of sales/preorders=quality, which it doesn't. But hey, if you want to guarantee you'll have a copy before anyone reviews the content, go right ahead.
-
1 RespuestaYou miss the point of the people saying it is bad. With so many pre-orders it is easier to cut content. Why should a company release all the content if they already have a lot of money? The more money they have, the less they talk about what people are actually buying. The more money they get, the easier it is to cut content. Too many pre-orders when it is still too soon is bad because companies will see how much money people are willing to pay without even knowing much about the product.

27 RespuestasOf course I am preordering, I love this game. Bungie has proven that they listen to the community.

Yah, in general...pre-ordering may encourage some pretty bad practices in this industry, but this is the only 1 of 2 games I've ever preordered (the other being some of the Halo series). As someone already said...I put a pretty big investment into this game already.

Circle jerk the thread.

Getting free shit

2 RespuestasI'll buy RoI at launch, I see no need to pre-order games these days.
-
3 RespuestasIve preordered cause ive invested over 1000 hours at this point and i might as well go until the end.
-
$40 bucks, to me it's not that much. Granted I haven't played much since I ran out of stuff to do, now just waiting on the new DLC. I'm super stoked.
-
Sensible price so I ordered it
-
I might save my money and buy Titanfall 2 instead. I'm not preordering, but if it looks good I'll buy RoI.
-
Pre-orders don't keep the game industry alive. GOOD GAMES that build positive, profitable, ongoing relationships with their audiences keep the industry alive.
-
No look at mobile games. It's all money and ads and micro transactions.
-
Well said guardian.

36 RespuestasDestiny was the last thing i ever preordered and ever will. i learned such a valuable lesson by preordering destiny and that is wait a month after it comes out and if you still want the game then buy it. dodged the division bullet dodged no mans sky dodged call of duty: next year edition dodged starwars battlefront dodged streetfighter dodged homefront dodged pokemon go to be fair ive saved hundreds of dollars because of destiny destroying my will to preorder, and many of my friends are jumping on this financial bandwagon... WE ARE NOT BUYING TILL WE SEE THAT IT IS GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT! id rather wait a year and get the premium gold bundle edition with all the DLC and the finished product for an 8th of the price.
