I really wish one of our comunity reps would pipe up and explain the reasoning for this already. What's the point in trying to cover up or be vague. It reminds me if something my kids do when they are making an excuse for not doing something they should have done, or for doing something they shouldn't have.

  • Here's the reasoning. They never said "coming fall of 2016". A handful of kids made an ignorant assumption. • If you recall however, in the transition from year one to year two all year one exclusives were unlocked for XB. This established a president that this would occur each year. It's a logical conclusion. No one from Bungie came right out and said it was so, but no one has come out and said it wasn't so either. So yes, I feel it would be a great move for a Bungie rep to clear the air with some cold hard facts and a bit of an explanation as to why they have decided to make this move. They don't owe it to us, but it is good customer service, especially considering the outcry from certain members of the comunity over the issue. A simple act can calm the waters, why let this go unanswered?

  • There was no "precedent" set. If the contract between Sony and Bungie so states, you don't ever have to get the exclusives...

  • The end of year one. XB players recieve PS exclusive content. The end of year two. XB players don't recieve PS exclusive content. I'm saying that there was no reason as to why they changed the way they set things up from the year one/two transiting to the way things are set up for the year two/three transition. That is what has people frustrated. For me it's not that I feel entitled to it, it just doesn't make sense to me as to why they made the change. Did the contract get re-drawn? Was a new payment made from Sony to keep the content locked longer? Was it to much work to roll the content out foe XB players in light of the release? Does Bungie just feel like trolling entitled children? We don't know. All we do know is that XB players don't seem to be getting year two exclusive content anytime soon.

  • You do realize the terms were at least until fall of 2016, right? Not until, right? With that terminology, there is no need for a contact to be redrawn, those were the terms of the contract. Somehow, you and others have come to the erroneous conclusion that it was simply a one year contract. The contract was until the terms of the contract had been met. The reason that you aren't getting them is the contract between Sony and Bungie. THAT IS the reason. Just as another commenter stated, it could simply be that the timed exclusives were until the release of Destiny 2. The real reason doesn't matter, does it? I mean really, does it? Would it make you feel better if they simply stated that was the terms of the original contract? Would that somehow make you feel better or worse than hearing them say they signed a new or different contract? Would it feel better to know that Microsoft let the exclusivity deal go...again? Which of those outcomes would make you feel better about not getting them until fall of 2017? Regardless, Bungie is not beholden to discuss with you or the others the terms of their contract with Sony.

  • Dude. I know you think I'm some entitled idiot. I'm not. I really don't care if I get the exclusive content or not. It means very little to me in the end. That being said. Their original contract allowed them to release year one exclusives for year two, and their year two exclusives can be released as soon as year three starts but they decided to not release them until year four with no further explenation than 'Because we can.' All I am saying is that there are some upset customers and perhaps by simply addressing what is going on as far as their decision making process might help alleviate some tensions.

  • No, you don't know what I think. Unlike some of the others on here, you did not come across as an entitled idiot.
and their year two exclusives can be released as soon as year three starts.
This is an assumption on your part...you really have no information to support that claim. You don't know the terms of the contract. At no time did Bungie or Sony say that one year was the term of the contract for TTK exclusives. That is what I am trying to clarify with you. I'm also trying to say that due to the terms of the contract, Bungie may not be at liberty to discuss the matter further. I was sincerely trying to reason with you, not chastise you... I really was asking if the reason makes a difference...will it satisfy you to know they can't discuss it further, if that is the case? Will it help you if they tell you that one year was never the term? I know that just from the wording "at least until fall of 2016" I get the understanding that the term was NOT one year, but could be as little as one year. Will any answer really help you?

  • It's not about helping me. I was simply talking about customer service. If they're not at liberty to discuss their reasons then they could say as much. All I'm saying that if I was running a business and my customers said to me "Why are(n't) you doing this?" I wouldn't answer them with silence, but that's just me and my two cents.

And as a customer, if a business tells me it will be at least seven days, then tells me it is going to be at least another seven days, I don't need to know their supply chain to understand. They communicated that it was going to be AT LEAST another year... The same can be said for a month or a year... Games don't always come out at expected release dates... Movies don't always come out at projected release dates... Shit happens... The reason you aren't getting it for at least another year is due to contractual obligations.
