Bungie, I'm a huge fan, but not having the option to pet the wolves might have done it for me.
Seriously, I've had an account on Bungie for over 5 years, have played this game religiously, posting my thoughts and opinions on this game here, most of them in a positive light.
But upon hearing a detail that we cannot pet the wolves, I realized this is probably too much for me to handle.
A ton of players definitely feel the same way.
The wolves are our allies, they need all the cuddles, and Bungie, you are denying this.

Not being able to pet the wolves... Not a care on my meter. Being able to see them and possibly seeing them move around in a social space or in the wild on Earth then that's a step in a good direction. Making use of environmental elements which will challenge us during combat is something I want to see and possibly having an ability that can make the wolves assist us then yes. I play Warframe where they have companions that can go out on missions and such however I was looking forward to it but all in all I placed my pet in stasis. Didn't need the distraction of ensuring my pet stayed alive or stoping play to revive it. Also having it tucked away on the ship and having to care for it otherwise it would start to go down that dying path etc. Not to say that Bungie will do the same as they have borrowed from Warframe and possibly that have of Destiny. If they do offer more interaction with the wolves as our pet or something else then I hope it doesn't take away from the point of the gameplay for the character guardian.
