There have been a good amount of unnecessary bans on the forums but I want to talk about 3 recent ones.
Let's start with ''A cellar door''.
Earlier today he posted a thread titled ''You have an urgent need to poop''. Pretty harmless title, nothing graphic. The post included a picture of Kylie Jenner along with ''and you see this in your bathroom, what do you do?''
There were no edits to the thread or anything about it that was considered a violation of the Code of Conduct.
Then there was a person who goes by ''Wookie on crack'' who replied to the thread. He had commented ''I'd bitch slap the 20 layers of makeup off her''. Kind of harsh, but nothing that breaks the CoC. In the CoC it mentions nothing against disrespecting or insulting a TV "star" or someone who is not part of the forums. There were no personal threats against her or any racism involved.
Then there's a user named ''Brando'' who posted a satirical thread about acronyms and how the ninjas do not understand what they mean. All he did in his post was give the wrong definition of the acronyms and nothing else. Just a little funny post. Yet it got removed.
Here is a quote from the user ''Lethenza":
"In response to your unfair ban post (I am currently banned); can you please mention me? I was banned for one whole month because I spoke out against ISIS and Islam. I made no direct insults, and I said nothing offensive (no swearing at all). It was a completely serious, politically correct, opinion on the matter. Regardless of your stance on the subject, we should agree that it was unfair to receive any sort of ban for this, especially a one month ban (for insults/disruption, which doesn't make sense). What's worse, I received no help from the moderators I messaged. They completely ignored me. I think this story would be another good example to add to your post."
Conclusion: The moderation team needs to reread the CoC and figure out what they're doing wrong or the CoC needs to be really specific about everything on its list.
Here's a link to Brando's thread about his thread's removal: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/210332363?page=0&sort=0&Banned=0&path=1
Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in. See Cozmo's thread for more information about the #Feedback tag and its uses.
Feel free to private message the moderator who moved your post, link to topic for further clarification about why this topic was moved.
Ninjas have quotas. If they don't reach them then they lose their ninja title.
-
Bump and I agree. Ninjas need to answer for their actions as well

1 RespuestaEditado por Gordonian Knot: 8/5/2016 3:59:16 AMLmao The ninjas don't need to reread the CoC, pretty much everything is covered under: "you have no rights, play nice" They could literally ban you for anything if they wanted. I've rarely seen any cases for people being banned for no good reason. Edit: Also, the ninjas have been getting stricter lately, but in most cases I wouldn't say unfair, just enforcing things a little more than before.

Unfortunately you need to realise that what you consider "funny" others may consider "offensive". This is a public forum which must attempt to be "non-offensive" to all those that may visit the forum.

Editado por GrundleBeans: 8/8/2016 7:23:56 PMWhat you consider "funny" or "innocent" doesn't make it so. Not for everybody else. When you offend others, you don't get to decide for everyone else that your words aren't offensive to any of them.

Where's Walter Sobcheck when we need him? The OP is Smokey and his toe is over the line.

I can't believe these posts are still happening. You realize moderators are just doing what's asked of them. They are doing exactly what they should be doing.

5 RespuestasEditado por OurWildebeest: 8/5/2016 2:49:11 AMWhenever the French truck attack happened, before any information about the driver came out, I posted a poll asking what his name was, with a bunch of French options such as Pierre, and "any Muslim or Arabic name." The post body said "thoughts and prayers for victims and their families." Otherwise, I expressed no opinions in the OP. A SJW freaked out and called me a horrible person. I replied "you can have any opinion if me you like, just please don't behead me." I then went to sleep. I woke up to see I had a warning from Bungie, followed by a one-week ban. I am still not sure what rule I broke, other than successfully baiting a SJW (who, in all seriousness, desperately needed baiting for his own ultimate good).

2 RespuestasI agree. I just served a week ban because I posted something that was deemed "Gory Violence/Explicit Sexuality". This was simply not the case. Why should these ninja bastards be judge, jury and executioner. We need true justice and not power hungry mods randomly banning people because they have sand in their vaginas. We should be judged by regular forum users and should be able to face the individual that has taken offense with our posts. Bungie, institute a jury system ASAP because we need real justice. No justice, shit posts!!

I got banned from the group wall for being inactive and told I disrupted insulted and disrespected something as I was inactive.

1 RespuestaThis exactly. The ban team is a little trigger happy lately.
-
I got wall banned for calling myself-by my old name(which people's comments just above and below had labeled me as)-A flame-starting retard.

Of course.. Make an alt to complain.

4 RespuestasIf you were a ninja.... Wouldn't you have fun banning people? Then seeing them go crazy because they don't understand why they got banned Then see posts like this and smirk
-
2 RespuestasI got banned for a week for making a post that said "Easiest people to trigger" I should of put Ninjas at the top of the list

Watch them carpet ban this entire thread. They can't handle criticism at all.
-
I got banned for posting an adult joke (and a very tame one at that) in a thread for adult jokes. The joke was the "blind man in a nude colony" joke. No cussing, no genital slang, no racism or personal attacks, nothing bad at all. I was (once again) banned without a warning. Sometimes it seems like the ninjas have a personal vendetta against certain users. Must be a sad existence to be so power-hungry that you have to get your fix by banning people for no reason.
-
2 RespuestasThe moderation here is fine. Don't want to get banned? Don't post insults, use slurs, or belittle groups even as "jokes". Don't like it? Go to a different website. These aren't your forums, nor are they public property. Bungie's mods can ban anyone at any time for any reason.
