Making players use all the primary weapons is just a bad idea for a quest achievement. Especially since I was not aware the quest existed throughout the year and only found it in my abandoned quest vault. Hand cannons are proving my downfall and I just do not feel like doing this anymore.
Edit: To the haters, you did not help at all. To those that were positive and offered constructive advice, thank you. I took Hawkmoon into Control and got the requirements done in about 2 hours. This is actually faster than I managed with all the other primaries, including scout rifles, which I usually use. Thanks again to those that offered constructive advice.

Good for giving it a go man. I hated being forced to do that quest. But got it the end still hate pvp only more now I had to trudge through that garbage of poor connections and worse sportsmanship.
-
I'm skipping year 2 this time around
-
3 RespuestasI have my beta emblems. Nothing else comes close to being worth getting.
-
Get a hand cannon with rifled barrel, they're heads and shoulders above hand cannons with no range perk.
-
If you can find a friend who is a competent bubble bro who'll run weapons. I had a couple bubble titans save my ass during the HC part
-
2 RespuestasI don't want to do the raid. Fortunately enough, I don't like the emblem.
-
Hand Cannon - Byronic Hero or Hawkmoon Auto Rifle - Righteous VII or Arminius-D Pulse Rifle - Oversoul Edict or Hawksaw Scout Rifle - Hung Jury or Vision of Confluence
-
I thought you were joking until I read the edit...

3 RespuestasI am beyond terrible at Crucible with a hand cannon. The mechanics just don't suit me. Having said that, don't give up. While I wouldn't claim I had a fun time, I nonetheless slogged through that portion of the The Mountaintop, and the kills came for me as they will for you, if you keep with it. It helps if you have a good Imago or similar strong hand cannon. What I discovered is that if you play multiple crucible matches in a row, you subconsciously do get better with the weapon, and will get the kills. Your k/d may suffer (mine sure did), but I assure you that with patience, you will get the hand cannon kills. And I had no trouble at all with the other three primary weapon categories. So don't give up.
-
THAT is your problem?!

I thought the mountaintop would be an absolutely miserable expereince. Don't get me wrong, it still sucked and I hated every second of it but it turned out that during my little PvP'ing over the year I had already managed to knock bits and pieces of it. Still had a lot to do but I got it done in one long sitting. I thought elmination and salvage would be the worst but in hindsight it was probably the AR games, those were incredibly boring.

9 RespuestasEditado por juharr: 8/1/2016 2:17:43 PMI'm thinking about giving up on it because of the fragments and the HM Raid since I don't have a group to raid with. But the Mountain Top was one of only 3 MoTs that I had done when it came out.
-
I already had the mountain top almost done, so actually trying to finish wasn't too bad.
-
Hand cannons did prove challenging. Ace of Spades was my choice.
-
Don't feel bad. All I need is 3 fragments and I don't intend on doing that.
-
3 RespuestasI'm a little late, but to anyone struggling, I'll help. Mida for scout rifle Monte Carlo for auto rifle Hawkmoon for hand cannon Bad Juju for pulse rifle I got all of these done very quickly.

3 RespuestasHey I was in the same boat as you. never played much PvP in year 1, so when I got this quest, it went in my abandoned quests vault. when MoT year 2 came out and I realized Mountaintop was all I had left, I just had to do it. And I agree that the weapons part has proved to be the most difficult for me thus far. I have not used a HC since my Hawk Moon in year 1! Everybody always says Last Word is "OP" so I took it out of my vault, leveled it up and ......nothing.....I absolutely SUCKED with it. that thing has ZERO range. As an IB rank 5 reward last week, I got the IB HC with 3rd eye, so I figured I'd give it a shot. what a difference!!! I played 7 crucible matches with HCs last week. first three with Last Word, remaining four with Finnala's Peril. If you look at my stats from Friday night, first 3 matches had k/d of 0.33 or less; last 4? at or above 1.0! got all 4 matches done with the IB HC. My point to this very long post is: you can get it done! don't listen to the Meta. find a gun that works for you and just have fun with it! if Hawk Moon's not getting it done for you, switch to Ace of Spades. Now I just gotta wait for damned trials to be over so I can do elimination and get this quest done with!!

8 RespuestasNot doing the mountain top. Don't really play pvp much and not going to be bothered for a crap emblem I'll never use. Got the shaders, all I cared about.
-
Try inferno 6v6 this week. Because there is no radar you can easily sneak up on your opponent and get a kill.
-
Hey man I hated PvP and rarely participated in any activity other than being forced with friends (and getting Eye of Osiris) but I know what you mean about the MoT. All I can say is keep playing. The last steps are so easy its just completing matches. Hope you get it!

-
I did not have the problem with that. I hated the last quest though "The mountaintop" after playing a lot of different kinds of crucible it will ask you to play more and win more which is not that easy when you go solo.
-
It was a pain to be honest as it kinda forces you into using weapons you don't like. People who main hand cannons will say it was easy, but if you only use pulse or auto rifles it's a nightmare (especially after they nerfed the crap out of hc and introduced ghost bullets). If you hated that you don't want to go for The First Curse (Imprecation is a hateful gun) or Chaperone!!

1 RespuestaWhat Y2 emblem is this quest from?
-
I got it done 5 months ago lol finishes on all 3. I didn't see why it's hard
-
It's your fault that you didn't notice the quest...
