It's not -blam!-ing fun

16 RespuestasEditado por GigaMode: 7/13/2016 3:11:29 AMThe irony in it for me, is that shotgun range was nerfed because everybody felt that they were getting kills out of their intended range. So now they've been relegated to point-blank range. Yet snipers are allowed to easily get kills at mid or even close range, as opposed to being relegated to long range. I don't understand why such an obvious inbalance is so hard for Bungie to grasp. Team Fortress 2 is nine-years-old and has a more logical sniper rifle. With their sniper, the longer you scope (2-3 seconds max), the more damage your shot does and the less sway your gun has when idle. Otherwise if you try to insta-fire after scoping, you have crazy amounts of sway and minimal damage. It makes sense. I feel like Bungie tries to reinvent the wheel too much with this game and it just backfires constantly.

It doesn't help that snipers can be hit by a lot of fire and still pull of a headshot, like when I'm shooting one in the face with hand of judgment that has explosive rounds. I also don't want snipers to be -blam!-ed though, if some happy medium could be meet that'd be great.

1 RespuestaNo kidding. There needs to be more flinch or... I dunno, something. I'm getting sniped by people left and right. Don't go into sniper lanes? It doesn't matter to these people. I'm getting quick-scoped from, maybe, 20 feet away (which is nothing). Yeah, my KD isn't great but I've been able to at least hold my own in the past. Gun battle begins. I see the other player whip out their little, red light. I hear a wet-crunch sound... I'm dead again.

That is the reality of Destiny, if you don't use a sniper rifle you will be putting yourself in a potentially less effective position. Most players use sniper rifle so I'm forced to use it, so it will be until Bungie decide that it's wrong, and the decisions they make just because of the numbers ... it's just ridiculous, there is no adequate weapon balance specialist in the game with multi-million dollar budget. Sometimes I just hate that all the players of Destiny for developers equivalent to Pavlov's dogs.
-
The only thing I want to see is more extreme flinch when getting shot in ADS.

I can't complain about snipers. I love my shotguns after all. You think people don't get pissed when I rush halfway across the map, or sneak up on them and kill the in one shot? I mean, yeah, there's a certain risk to rushing towards an enemy player across the way just to attempt a shotty kill. But there is also a risk for snipers who hardscope all the time. Those are my favorite victims after all. Nothing is more satisfying than walking up on a hardscoping sniper and putting my barrel to their temple and pulling the trigger. No fight to be had! Easy kill.

Bring back the patch that took away special at the start, most fun because alot of people dont know what a primary weapon is

24 RespuestasI think a great fix would be what Halo 5 did. De-scope when hit. I also think that auto-aim on snipers need to be reduced as well. Sniping is WAY too easy even for people that have not earned their scars in crucible. Just a thought.

Editado por moobz: 7/13/2016 10:58:03 AMMy comment is not necessarily aimed at the OP's post but a general comment on sniping and snipers. Here's my beef with all of this. Before the TTK came out, i couldn't snipe to save my life! I hated snipers! The only snipers you ever saw me use was the Icebreaker in VoG at oracles/atheon or Crota for ogres at the bridge and the blackhammer for that one boss in PoE that burnt the ground (cant remember his name). I simply hated them because i couldnt aim whatsoever. Shotties were my thing, not Feltwinter's Lie but the plain and basic Found Verdict. It had a worthless range and the only real advantage this shotty had was Final Round, Not that it really matters but last years my PvP KD was under 1.0 all throughout my characters, lets face it i was useless and a burden to have on your team. Then TTK came out...and more specifically, King's Fall, where at the time (before the Black Spindle and Touch of Malice) four of the most difficult bosses required sniping skills. Warpriest required many headshots, Golgy needed his stomach pounded, the sisters with the crap shaped heads and the ogres at oryx who would drop quickly only if you snipped them in the head and with the help of your teammates........ What am i getting at you may ask? Practice, that is what i am saying. TTK gave me many opportunities to develop a new skill that i thought i would never be able to get a grip on. I have noticed a lot of people saying "I can't snipe so i would rather........". Step out of your comfort zone, learn to do new things, granted it isn't fun when you constantly get killed in PvP but there are many ways you can practice, run strikes, go on patrols and snipe the enemies from a distance, just keep practicing and before you know it you will be able to also snipe. Another hint i would give is to AVOID using crutch perks such as Aim Assist. These perks do not make you a good player, you essentially rely the game to partially aim for you and i do not see much skill in that........I received my first ever sniper, Longbow Synthesis, with Aim Assist yesterday and i can tell you that i hated it when i tried it out........nuff said on that. People think sniping is bad and breaking the game, i think shotguns like Conspiracy Theory, Party Crash and Universal Remote have a disgusting range on them compared to others. There you go, mix your gameplay up a little, dont rely on what you are comfortable with and change up your classes a bit.

Buff shotties back a bit , so we can rush them better

12 RespuestasYou know what I find really funny, when shotguns were everywhere we blamed map design, now snipers are everywhere we blame map design. We all know snipers are extremely easy to use with zero risk unless you are facing another sniper. I hate being forced to use a weapon type to compete. I'll just keep using my fusions, when the sniper finally takes a hit the fusions will be the next target of the community.

if somebody is good enough to snipe mid range, why should he be punished by nerfing snipers AGAIN
-
1 RespuestaAgree. Increase flinch. Make hit boxes smaller. Reduces Aim assist. Destiny crucible should be more than just a snipe fest.
-
1 RespuestaGeez, you guys are going to end up getting sniper rifles nerfed again. The gunfights and trading are already seriously long compared to other games. Not to mention that sniping is the only way to counter laggers since laggers never take 100% damage, so it's the only high damage thing you can do to them.
-
2 Respuestastotal bs....stop crying and pick up a sniper....I don't snipe but I know how to avoid sniper lanes....they already nerfed snipers...you just need to git gud kid....
before you check I'm not gud...but I get killed by snipers maybe 5% of the time...
-
1 RespuestaThey should nerf snipers equip, switch times and handling. 1 body shot and then switch it should not exist.
-
Just got a sexy new Longbow
I lOVE IT
-
All we do is snipe snipe snipe in work day, when we go to sleep at night we snipe snipe snipe a headshot in morning brightens up my day cuase all we do is snipe snipe snipe. A few more lines and loads more repeating snipe and I'll have a hit record to go with my snipeing.

Editado por kcloudy0717: 7/13/2016 6:36:33 AMHey, about everyone shotguning at every game every map at close range is not fun either, not all the games are perfect, Bungie is already doing a good job listening to the community, they nerf the sniper once and now they are probably going to nerf it again because of some cry babies that complains about it
-
22 RespuestasI agree. The sniping is ruining pvp, that and some of the stupid changes and nerfs. All the streamers love sniping, so bungie doesnt dare to fix it. Its garbage. If some of the more popular streamers would only change from sniping, maybe all the kids would too. Thats the only way it will change. I've never played a game where a bunch of kids on twitch dictated the game this way. Its crazy.
-
8 RespuestasI think its fun. Nothing like a 20 minute trials game down to the point each round. Heaven forbid you push out and attempt to win a primary duel.... SMH. Nothing like player with two other players who insist on this strategy as well. Here I am using a fusion rifle.....
-
4 RespuestasWhat they need to do is reduce the aim assist. Then if the player is truely skilled it won't affect them. If they are not, then their crutch will be taken away.

5 RespuestasAs much of an anti-nerf person, I highly agree that snipers need to be hit, really really hard with the nerf bat. I don't play much PvP, but seeing nothing but snipers absolutely ruins the fun of this game, Destiny IS NOT Call of Duty. If you want your MLG Quickscope action, go plauge that game further. We do not need this game evolving into this.
-
Editado por Erijian: 7/13/2016 1:08:47 AMI think a forced descope when you take precision damage would work pretty well. Snipers in PvE would be hardly effected, and in PvP they'll finally have consistent counterplay.
-
8 RespuestasYea about this.... Sniping is a blatantly obvious problem in every playlist. Especially in the so-called "end game" pvp mode aka trials of Osiris, aka Rez-snipers of Osiris. This is a tricky problem for the following reasons. The main reason is the sheer amount of people claiming to be highly skilled at sniping. Skilled or not, a shit ton of people use snipers. Compare that to what they did with shotguns in Y1. There was a massive exodus of active players just after the blanket nerf to shotguns. Bungie is making a feeble attempt to nerf snipers is a way that is over time and circa other "rebalance" updates; i.e. Ammo nerfs and such, in order to not instill a massive exodus of snipers due to a nerf. Rather than a blanket nerf that would affect nearly the entire player base, they are going to hack away at it over several rebalance passes to not piss people off. The sad thing about this is snipers will remain at the top of the charts until the Dev team bucks up and does what they should and take snipers down to where they should be. The single end game pvp activity should not be dominated by a single special weapon archetype and a single playstyle, especially if this game claims to be balanced. If it were balanced, statistics would show equal numbers of all special weapon types in flawless runs. That is simply not the case, by specific intended design of the development team.
