BEFORE YOU READ, I HAVE BEEN TO THE LIGHTHOUSE OVER 20 TIMES, CHECK MY STATS. THIS IS ABOUT THE COMMUNITY, NOT ME. ATTACK ALL YOU WANT. DEAF EARS ;)
This is not an original suggestion. Many have suggested before. Of course we know the suggestion could be circumvented. Two measures can fix it.
- Only one lighthouse trip per character, per week (max of 3 trips).
- To prevent carrier streamers from resetting cards before a flawless, make it to where the fire team must have ALIGNED CARDS. That way the system can't be circumvented. What I mean by this is, if wins on cards on the fire team do not match, then you cannot enter the activity..
Another fix could be a tier system as many suggest.
The "carry" or even the steamer carry has completely taken over ToO and it's just dumb. It's become so ridiculous that the community actually has this weekly thread (this is indicative of a PROBLEM)

Regardless of steamers or just insane keyboard and mouse players with a massive advantage over those using a controller, there are people in Destiny who play trials merely to keep others out. You want to talk about bad for the game? Cure this cancer.
For the "git gud" and "KD matters" people
Trials is supposed to be competitive, and in it's current state it is NOT competitive for the upper skill tiers. Therefore, it is not competitive for lower tiers because they can't compete. What's ironic is that the elitist PvP players always say " playing tough opponents makes you better," yet they have no desire to play people on thier level in most cases. They jsut want to stomp casuals and feel superior. If they actually face an opponent of thier skill level, they complain that it's too hard and that they're mad lol. Total hypocrisy
.
Like and bump if you agree.

Thanks everyone for your (non salty) responses. The thread went way farther than I ever thought it would, and hopefully Bungie is taking some of the ideas put forth by us all into consideration.

7 RespuestasNO THIS IS HOW YOU FIX IT. What you need to do is take the team add all the times theve been flawless then divide by 3, to get the average, then put them in a bracket with the other teams that have that many average flawless runs. The brackets could be: Never been flawless 1-4 averags flawless wins 5-9 average flawless wins 10-16 average flawless wins 17-25 average flawless wins 26-35 average flawless wins 36-50 average flawless wins 50 and above average flawless wins This way people compete against there own skill level and it gets harder for people to carry bad people and the god tier players play against people like themselves and dont always stomp on teams that are no match for them
-
I can't believe the response tho this thread, thank you everyone.

8 RespuestasGoing 8-1 is terrible on its own but to add insult since you have a loss on your card you have to start a new card to possibly go flawless I suggest that wins should be able to clear loses in that if you are 8-1 if you win the next match you should go back to 8-0 Of course if you lose three straight you would be removed from trials and have to get a new card. The stakes would still be high as you are still going against team with the same number of wins This would ease the time commitment and increase enjoyment of trial... Just saying
-
How would you practice. I think itd be better if you got into a flawless lobby for the rest of that week with that character.
-
DEAF EARS ;)
Wut.

So because I want to visit the Lighthouse sometime, and see its glory, and get the ghosts and grimoire there, you want to make it almost impossible for me to get the necessary help to get there? Wow dude, that ain't cool.
-
-
Agreed.
-
I think if your going to do this the solution isn't to lock players out after a completion. The solution is instead to make it so any losses against players who have gone to the lighthouse that week don't count. If the enemy team has at least 1 player whose account has been to the lighthouse the loss is discounted. This allows steamers to continue to play as normal. It allows players to continue to compete. It also keeps the population together without segmenting it into smaller matchmaking pools, therefore maintaining higher connection quality. The only people it angers are those who want to ensure other players don't make it to the lighthouse. The "lighthouse police" would lose their ability to grief other players.

3 RespuestasSomething like this would never work... Two words why: Account recovery. A lot of twitch streamers will gain the account details of the player who wants to be carried, log onto their character and then do it all on their character. If your idea was to be implemented, I'm willing to bet every single twitch streamers will switch to this
-
A lot of streamers do account recoveries, where they play on someone else's account. It allows for basically a triple carry.
like the guy I paid to run my characters.
-
That change would literally kill destiny. Would you like that? Trials is most likely the most played activity in the game and keeps the PvP community coming back, without that, RIP

Someone just said trials isn't competitive... It's more of a case that some people are bad
-
20? that's nothing. I was light house 20< before ttk even released.
-
Only have gone flawless because of a streamer. I shouldn't feel happy about it. Making people miserable. I never want to go flawless again but I need to do I'm not a scrub like everyone thinks I am. The only way to be good in this game is flawless. Trials in general. That's all people care about now... I think if they remove it more people will be happy than sad.
-
3 RespuestasSo I'm only allowed 3 trials runs over the weekend..? I don't like that idea..

My idea to fix this is go back to the old trials matchmaking. It was easy then. Now it's just -blam!-ing dumb. I could care less to go flawless now it's a joke.
-
It's fine as if is. The streamers are not unstoppable, we beat some really good teams on Monday, it's hard and disappointing when you lose sometimes but what's the point in playing if it was easier?
-
Terrible idea...... Trials is tough...... I am average, maybe a little below, but when I face streamers, I am excited, about the challenge and opportunity....... Limiting lighthouse runs. Is a bad idea......
-
I love the tier ideas as well guys. My solution would be easy for Bungie to implement quickly. I think tiers is something that's more realistic for D2 as that would require a good deal of work to implement.
