First off I want to say that I reached level 5 with ease this iron banner week. But what really pisses me off about it is i am 335 and I'm being sometimes COMPLETELY DECIMATED by players that are levels 315 to 320, sometimes 305's. Bungie I VIVIDLY remember you people making a patch back in early year one that fixed this issue. So why is it now happening again? I should be taking less damage from those levels in the Banner. And DESTROYING THEM. Like why is it that say for example a team full of 335 is losing to a team of 315's? Fix this shit. Plus anyone who is gonna reply with shit talk. Save it. I've outgun most of my opponents and this post is stating past games and my opinion on iron banner. Not every game. You people seem to miss that suprisingly. Why is it that low light level weapons are doing more damage then high light level?? Like what the -blam!- bungie.

If your getting wrecked it's because they are better then you even with a damage crutch. And if your a 6 man team you should have no problem pub stomping some randoms.

I'm glad those low levels are not getting wrecked and have a good time in PvP thank you benji

6 RespuestasI've started a new account yesterday played IB today at light lvl 205 iam now 255 and just came top of my team and won the game, I have no secondary or heavy to speak of and did it with a blue 230 auto rifle, against 300 and above.

Pretty sure there isn't a noticeable difference until 30+ difference so even at max light you wouldn't see much difference until they are below 300

3 RespuestasEditado por Devasstator: 7/4/2016 1:42:49 PMIt's not news that the light levels in IB literally make zero difference to anything. IB is literally a clever move on Bungie's part to rebrand the same content that people play regularly (clash, control) with some modifications so slight, they changes nothing in the game itself and adds some dedicated gear (the ONLY benefit to IB). I don't get why people care so much about W/L. Destiny isn't competitive in any way, unless you play in a fireteam constantly (and only against other fireteams) your W/L reflects nothing about your skill and the drops at the end of every match are 100% RNG (and are FAR superior to the vendor gear).

Editado por kindaSketch: 7/4/2016 7:40:35 PMMaybe those lower light players were just better than you. But who knows. Maybe you should upload some kind of proof that backs up you're statement.

Let's not...I gutted out rank 5 on three characters the got the -blam!- out

12 RespuestasLow light level weapons don't do more damage than higher light level ones. All your post is is you crying about dying and losing to lower light levels in IB. Keep crying, it's cute
and pathetic
But you still get rewarded win or lose and the drops, at least this time for me, are great!

1 RespuestaI pulled my 269 imago loop with crap perks out of the vault today and at 305 i was killing with 3 head shots lol

yup. more rng. Taking damage and dealing damage both require god like RNG

9 RespuestasEditado por EZ Pick 757: 7/3/2016 5:41:24 PMIt's as simple as this: the light level damage difference is very low. To keep lower light players from getting discouraged when they fight someone and have no chance against them because of random selection, they instead give everyone a 1:1 or .5:1 kill ratio in light differences. Keep in mind, not everyone is lucky enough to have hit high or maximum light at this time. This is a luck based loot game, not a "get rewarded for playing and you're done" based loot game. If people with a 20 light difference could run around in God Mode because they got more beneficial drops than you randomly, the new - player base in Iron Banner and Trials would quickly be extinguished.

1 RespuestaIron banner is competitive and there is a damage drop off if you're not max level. However it's not very apparent if the player is within 10-20 light levels (1-2 levels back in Y1). All it means is that the lower levels just have to work a little bit harder pending the gap between levels. But you're wrong, you shouldn't be destroying them completely, unless they're about 30+ light levels below you. So if you're losing to 315's and higher, then you are probably getting outgunned or missed a bullet or something (not saying your bad). There used to be people who come on the forums and brag about how they went into iron banner under leveled and still came out on top, proving that skill is more important. While level advantages do hold weight, actual skill level holds much more weight.

4 RespuestasThe light level advantage is minimal, as it should be. I dont think it would be fair for someone of max light to be a god in crucible. Just because your opponent is low light doesnt mean they suck either. That could be someone good at the game who's starting a new character.
-
1 RespuestaI believe it's 2% drop off per 10 light levels. So 315 vs 335 isn't going to be a huge difference. You just got outplayed.
-
1 RespuestaI just want the last pieces of playstation exclusive Iron banner armors...
-
Agreed. And them shoulder charging titans man..... Every match has at least two on the enemy team...

1 RespuestaEditado por Nerclid: 7/3/2016 11:58:13 PMIt doesn't matter the Light level of the Guardian so much as it does the Light level of the weapon when it comes to killing other Guardians. Skill is also a factor in PvP, not that I'm saying you're bad at crucible. I'm saying you might be coming across more skilled players than most do.
-
1 RespuestaJust cause some1 is 335 doesn't make them a better player.....
-
1 RespuestaI guess you could say your light wasn't strong enough 😏
*Skates Away*
4 RespuestasAgreed, im a 335 and was wrecking with a 275 blue handcannon. Not sure what light level it put me at but it didn't seem to matter at all.

7 RespuestasYou're bad

Every 5 light causes a .5 damage difference. So if He's 320 he's doing 1.5 less damage per bullet... Just get used too getting outgunned.
-
Because thankfully Bungie isn't as try hard as some of their community... Honestly, yes, there is a light level advantage, but it isn't, nor do I think it should be, such a disparity that a 335 can "DESTROY", as you put it, someone who is 315. Everyone should have, and needs a fighting chance or nobody is going to continue to play it. The only remedy for your "issue" is to matchmake off light level and only allow +/- 5-10 LL in the difference with 330+ being the highest tier. That would also have to scan ALL of your inventory and vault as matchmaking is occurring to prevent people from dropping their LL and equipping high end gear after the start of the match.
