Destiny will NOT make the 10 year mark.(here's why)

As many of you already know, a games success hinges completely on its playerbase. If the game becomes more of a frustration to play than an enjoyable experience then players leave and don't come back. Destiny lost it's fun factor long ago.. The ONLY thing that keeps most of us playing now is false hope.. we grind the same boring content over and over hoping that maybe we get lucky enough to get a suprise event from Bungie. Many of us, myself included are only playing Destiny because at the moment there is nothing quite the same out yet..We are waiting for some other developer to release something that would draw us away. Once we leave Destiny we won't come back The Bungie we once loved and respected is gone for good.. Their best developers have all moved on and been replaced by less experienced people.. The newbies at bungie have no idea how to keep the fans happy.. the don't read any of the comments on these or any other community forums. they look at numbers on stat charts and believe that those numbers mean anything.. Bungie's supposed 10 year plan for Destiny was an empty promise.. at the rate that they are killing their own game I would be suprised to see this game make it 5 years... Destiny 2 will be moderately successful at best due to the 2 years of repeated and consistant screw-ups,bugs,nerfs and other BS we have all seen and struggled through..Yeah they will sell games, people will buy Destiny 2 because they will still hold onto some hope that it will be better than the first. But believe me when I tell you now.. Destiny 2 will be as full of bugs and nerfs and glitches as this one is..Bungie got away with it this time and because of that they will continue to release broken games. No one wants to spend their hard-earned money on a crappy game and these past 2 years have jaded more than just a few gamers.

  •
Destiny 2 will be as full of bugs and nerfs and glitches as this one is
Guardians should be worried about Destiny. Almost 80% of players quit after they hit level 20 and before they could fully level up a legendary weapon or armor. The original DLC plan was not financially viable. Destiny 2 has been delayed by a year. Bungie officially replaced it's CEO earlier this year. Supposedly Luke "throw money at the screen" Smith took over the story. None of the news is encouraging. However, some franchises have come back from the brink. Destiny 2 was delayed but the delay gives Bungie time to fix major issues with Destiny. Bungie may have finally fixed player progression with the April 12th update and exotic quests that aren't dependent on RNG. Rise of Iron might make the raid fun again. Most importantly, DeeJ has been less condescending. None of these changes would have occurred without the community. Keep your voices heard and we may salvage this series yet.
As many of you already know, a games success hinges completely on its playerbase. If the game becomes more of a frustration to play than an enjoyable experience then players leave and don't come back.
The smart one's don't come back. People that wake up and realize that this game is built only to consume one's life. Look at the hours and hours and hours a gamer has time spent. Most spend every day playing this game and barely achieve anything. For some it's just for PvP and it's the only thing that they have any intrest in. Yet PvP is the main issue in this game and has the most problems in this entire game. It's a mode that turned into a profit outside of Bungie's company, and it's the worse addiction in this game. If you have to pay someone 2 to $300 to run a stupid event to go flawless. You are literally pathetic. By all means trials isn't a pathetic game mode. It's the gamers concept that ruins it. The over achiever that is so obsessed with his precious Kd that ruins any PVP game mode. PvP in Destiny was ment to be a casual game mode but the gamers in Destiny and this forum turn it into something it was never meant to be. An overly competitive event PvP gamers have gone so far as to over (analyze) everything in PvP. Look at this forum. It's flooded every single day about nothing to improve this game, but maybe a couple post that get buried because most gamers only care about PvP. Yet PvP gamers will blame the PvP nerf babies and wont take the responsibility for their own actions. Am i saying PvP gamers are the problem with this game. YES every single one of you helped Bungie create your lovely PvP game mode. You PvP gamers helped Bungie create the future of this entire game. Your obsession wanting to tweak everything to fit your needs is the problem. And 95% of you PvP gamers will deny it. Do you guys want it to change? Then stop over (analyzing everything)
Destiny lost it's fun factor long ago.. The ONLY thing that keeps most of us playing now is false hope.. we grind the same boring content over and over hoping that maybe we get lucky enough to get a suprise event from Bungie.
This is where Bungie comes in with their lovely wonderful rewarding RNG. it was the perfect plan to keep Gamers playing endless hours hoping for that one drop. Leaving Bungie to say hey, guess what guys! We don't have to add actual content. These fools will grind for days and months for One thing thay may not drop for an entire year in reality no one can deny that this game lacks major content. Yet Bungie has treated Ttk as if it was a full game and made y1 obsolete. By doing so Bungie made a good portion of this game irrelevant. Leaving nothing to do in this game but regrind everything in Ttk over hundreds of times, and Bungie removed content while being full well aware that there wasn't even that much content in this game in the first place.
Many of us, myself included are only playing Destiny because at the moment there is nothing quite the same out yet..We are waiting for some other developer to release something that would draw us away. Once we leave Destiny we won't come back
I made that decision a while back. Until Bungie come out of the bata mode. This game will (never) improve and i wont bother until i see that change.
The Bungie we once loved and respected is gone for good.. Their best developers have all moved on and been replaced by less experienced people..
Hopefully the ones that left will get together and make an actual game for their fanbase. Unlike the so-call Bungie we have now.
The newbies at bungie have no idea how to keep the fans happy.. the don't read any of the comments on these or any other community forums.
How could they? You jump in a company that chopped the shit out of their entire game and are left trying to make something out of it. But that doesn't excuse people like Luke smith and others that are still there.
they look at numbers on stat charts and believe that those numbers mean anything..
Ooh Look at this! The PvP gamers are using that too much.. Let's nerf it and it's entire category. Great job guys! Problem solved. Thanks boss!
Bungie's supposed 10 year plan for Destiny was an empty promise.. at the rate that they are killing their own game I would be suprised to see this game make it 5 years... • I was an avid player but left after the April 335 patch. Haven't been back since. Tired of the grind and feel of double rng based luck for everything involved. If they bundle everything together on the one for 30/40 I will buy back in for my one. If not who cares...... I'm not spending the cost of a new game for a DLC update. To many other games coming for that to be justified.

Yup...I agree. 10 year plan...it's pretty much over half way through 2. They listened to whining, need everything handed to them now, participation trophy generation. Everything is so easily obtained it gives us nothing to look forward to or grind for. Remember how you couldn't wait to get home and play on Tuesdays year 1....or waited up Thursday night till xur arrived? Now It's ALL ...meh....thanks to them listening to the causal gamer and the 12 and under demographic.

      • The rng killed the game a long time ago. The weapons that feel like shit killed the game a long time ago. The grinding to replace content killed the game a long time ago. They wanted to keep the game alive with grind and a bad loot system.... and that will fire back. I would rather die then pay 30 $ for the next dlc.

Once we leave Destiny we won't come back
How long are we going to keep saying this? Destiny has been out for almost 2 years and survived and outlasted even the "best games" like Witcher 3, Fallout 4, Bloodbourne, and many other "Destiny Killers" including the direct competition in CoD, Halo 5, and Battlefront. At this point, you can't rationally say it anymore. Like it or not, we're at a point now where Destiny is one of the best games on the market. We should give it the proper credit. But we dont, and won't, ever. Why? Because Destiny is "the fat girl" or that one Ricky Martin song. Everyone likes them, just won't admit to it.
Alot of people will definitely wait for reviews, I know I will. But with it being current gen only and not bound by the restrictions of its predecessor, it will and does have alot of hope associated with it. But regardless, I think for now this franchise has, at the very least, found its niche and will continue to be a success in some fashion.
But believe me when I tell you now.. Destiny 2 will be as full of bugs and nerfs and glitches as this one is..Bungie got away with it this time and because of that they will continue to release broken games.
What game won't or doesn't? In this day and age, it's understood due to the complexity and scope of today's games. Hell, some have said this is part of a Bethesda games' charm. The trick to navigating this is the first couple months in dealing with issues that come up. Do it right, you've got a winner. Don't wrong or succumb to too much player pressure for adjustments, and you've got The Division.

And yet you've invested 76 days into it, and over $100... Meanwhile Destiny has survived: BO3, Watchdogs, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and the Division. All games promised to bring it to an end. So while Rise of Iron adds hundreds of more hours I'm sure Destiny 2 will bring on at least 2 more years of solid Destiny content and you will, in the words of our favorite Luke Smith, "continue to throw money at the screen".

Destiny is a great game and my personal favorite. I can't name any other games that better cohesively tie competitive fps pvp play to a fps pve world. I don't understand how people can complain and be so unreasonable other than bitter people who get crushed and are terrible in PvP like TheShadow. What are these people comparing this game to? We all have a bunch of games that we never touch after playing for a while, Bungie has kept this game fresh. Destiny was the first game with a great cohesive strike / patrol and competitive setup. Destiny gets so many things right and that's why so many players are passionate enough to write long rants good or bad. Why do so many hold Bungie to such high expectations, they don't even need to do half of the job they are doing to sell the games, but they are trying to do the best they can, which has been far far better than many other games.

                • I agree...I actually don't think it's going to make it to d3 at all. The constant lying, the vanilla debacle, loosing all of their good experienced talent, the constant nerfs...never before have I seen a company so willing to run their game into the ground like bungie has. Digital Extreme and Warframe are the complete opposite of bungie and destiny. destiny done right and bungie done right.

These posts were everywhere last summer, and do you know what happened? On TTK launch day my friends list exploded with people playing Destiny. It didn't return to what it was last summer and is now (about one page) for quite some time. When RoI releases, you can expect the exact same thing to happen. And then again with Destiny 2 and every subsequent DLC. People come back for new content, exhaust it, and then play something else during the content drought. Why is this so hard for some people to understand? A lot of the people who will purchase the expansions are playing other games right now, and that's fine. This franchise is not in any kid of trouble at all.

I would say better game engine and deicated severs cuase even with ps4 running the show a p2p programmed engine can't handle the place we put it though and we have showed time and time again what a rubbish place of crap it is.

People, aren't you forgetting to evolve alongside with the game and its patches ? It would be unfair not to give newcomers the chance to figure out what strike holds the most rewarding loot, nor which weapon inflicts greater damages. Struggling myself about nerfs and enemies' spawn, I fear not Destiny's "lifespan" because of constant improvements of visual content and addictive soundtracks... Creators are maybe working on stuff which doesn't necessarily impact on gameplay but on game experience. A facet of Destiny wakes the RPG fan I've always been. My characters are living in the universe Bungie has kindly put in motion as if I was leading my very own StarWars. Throughout the year of discovering - and rediscovering - tableaus have painted themselves before my eyes, challenges have been renewed, elders have started quoting about allies, rivals or travel location and even have been seducing me by recognizing my guardian's class. Time after time, the fidel ways of this new gaming generation proves me, righteously, we are heading closer to what I would like to call the "Matrice experiment"... Be that gardian to whom saving the worlds with Traveler's light is sacred and dive into your creativity instead of blogging about how you cannot use that "weapon of choice" you've been using for two years.

Although this game has been a growing frustration that the casual to nearly steady players may walk away from. They will find a way to keep enough to leech off of, that's for sure. My personal opinion tho is that if they do successfully make it to 10 years. then by the end there will be so much lore that i could actually see a movie happening.
