    I don't necessarily agree with the tripmine or throwing knife nerf, but I did try all the adjusted classes supers today during the nightfall/heroics(which they actually changed back to having more than one modifier) and they seems pretty awesome in pve. I haven't played crucible yet this week so it could definitely go poorly from this point. Lol.

  • My theory is that Bungie needs a way to force you to continue to play and use new things and that is why the meta gets nerfed. I main a GG Hunter and used almostly exclusively TM nades.....for two years. Many other Hunters did too. So instead of Bungie giving you new nades to use as part of a DLC or expansion (per sub-class), they nerf the one everyone is using to make you use something else that's just been uselessly sitting there. Same goes for guns. Everyone starts running around using the same 3 guns and they nerf them and buff something else and a new meta is created. This is how they evolve the game even if it isn't what people want.

        I want to comment on the tripmine grenade. The nerf to it was either unwarranted or too imbalanced, depending on how you view my argument for it. Bungie claims it was intended to be a trap, not a sticky and that we can't have the best of both worlds. So they removed the sticky effect of it, meaning in their eyes it is now exclusively a trap grenade. Only it's not a trap, is it? It sticks to a wall with a 50cm stick that can be fired upon to trigger an early detonation and also has the glowing, red, unmissable laser beam sticking out of it. EVEN THEN if an enemy is retarded enough to walk through the big, red beam that literally screams "Something bad will happen" they're granted a delay between the point at which they break the beam and the point that it explodes. Now assuming they didn't detonate it early and they did walk through the super f__king bright laser beam AND they didn't walk out of the detonation zone within the time frame it grants your enemy...it doesn't kill them, not even if they have no armour stat. Great, sounds lethal enough to me. EDIT: Suggested fixes, ONE of the following; -Removal of the ability to see the laser beam for everyone except whoever planted it. -Removal of the delayed detonation. -Both the above but add a less noticeable tell-tale such as a high pitch humming. -Increase damage so that it kills enemies (I'll add more as I think of them)

          TBH, doubt a lot of people had problems with trip mines (I know I didn't, heck I had a bigger beef with skip grenades than tripmines). Agreed though that nothing felt truly overpowered before this patch, was the most balanced crucible yet. We shall see how this round of nerfings change the game. Really all bungie is doing here is creating artificial excitement for some classes and disappointment for others, nothing new here, just move along and play the game I say. They are going to do what they want as it is their game.

          So the Titan's fusion grenade sticks to people, insta-kills (with a slight delay) AND has aim assist/slight tracking ability. How is this even remotely a fair balance?

          • So. Anyone else willing to bet money that all of the losers and toddlers who run around yelling "Stop crying!" and "If you don't like it stop playing!" are actually employees of a public relations firm that Bungie has hired to try and maintain their crumbling reputation? There are actually companies who do specifically this. For software developers, for politicians, for bands and brands. Their job is to seek out anyone who has negative sentiment and attack them instead of their legitimate arguments, or manipulate search engine results, locate negative comments and get them removed by flagging them for abusive content and what have you. I actually am to the point that I think all of these trolls who want to attack people instead of considering their viewpoints are in fact employees of private firms. Apparently it's cheaper to work on your public image than it is to actually be decent human beings.

            • Am I the only one who is smart enough to consider that maybe we have some new gear incoming before the update and these nerfs are to prevent shit being op? Such as the Hunter arms that buff skip nades. And you gain an additional. People worry and cry to much without knowing wtf is going on.

                    • My friend has played hunter since day one and he complains about trip mines. He says it's too easy to use when e is killing People and I myself see how annoying they are this is a good change

                      • Trip mines and throwing knives did not deserve a nerf! Yeah tripmines were intended to be a trap grenade but why nerf the damage. We can't even kill a low armored guardian with it now. And if it was meant to be a trap why put a shiny red light and loud beeping noise on it! No one ever complained about it getting stuck on them anyways!!! Throwing knives weren't even a one hit kill -.- you have to damage them first and hope that the throwing knife will hit. Bungie doesn't make sense anymore!

                      • After an evening of playing gunslinger post patch, I have to say I did not notice that drastic of a difference. I'm not a good player by any stretch of the imagination, and I was still able to make trip mines work for me, and finish up kills with throwing knives. That said, I'm still reserved about game updates or "balancing" based on community feedback. The game is still fun, and I'll continue to play it as I continue to play various MMOs that do the same thing. Just my 2 cents.

                        • Tripmines finally got me into PVP, they were fun while sticking them to walls and guardians, but it takes practice and skill to get a decent amount of kills. I almost never used the golden gun because everyone would head for the hills if they heard it and there is no radar while using it. In Trials it was already difficult to beat another guardian because of high armor, now the tripmines are even more useless. I didn't use the golden gun and I'm not going to so the buff on that is useless for me too. So, my main character that I had from Y1 is useless now, the fun is gone. Thanks Bungie, I'm seriously thinking of quitting now.

                          • What I want to know is why the hell they buffed the amount of damage Golden Gun does. That things does plenty enough damage. I'd understand in PvE but jesus, a 50% increase?

                            • Imo even though those were some stupid nerfs bungie did gunslinger is still the same the only thing that's really different is that you can't stick people with tripmines and throwing knifes do less damage. Gunslinger didn't totally get nerfed to the ground but those nerfs were definitely stupid though
