I have seen a lot of talk about the low amount of gamemodes, and compared to big games like CoD and halo it certainly doesn't have much (3-4 at launch, lowest other number I can think of is BF4 with 5 at launch).
However, the more I think about it, I can't find many gametypes that would actually work really well in Overwatch. Deathmatch gamemodes would just be 2 teams of tracers and reapers, it requires much less teamwork. One sided CTF wouldn't really work, as soon as the enemy team gets the flag they just tracer back to their base (2flag could work, and you could turn off the flag holder's abilities and adjust spawn areas on ctf maps). The complexity of Overwatch's gameplay just doesn't allow for that many traditional gametypes to work well.
So #gaming, I ask you, what gametypes do you feel could work well in overwatch? How would these gametypes work? What gametypes would you like to see implemented in some way?

MVM style game mode? Against omnic swarms? Instead of waves, it could some sort of never ending....or 12 players vs a never ending horde until time is up. Team with most kills wins. Forbidden heroes include torbjorn, bastion and symmetra.

I came up with a fun game mode You need: 1 Tracer 2-6 Reinhardts In custom games put the ability cool down on 0%. The goal is the reinhardts have to pin the tracer within a time limit.

Well they said they don't want to do standard TDM, they want to focus on objective-team based gametypes. So one flag, koth, oddball (style), horde, VIP would be fun.

3 RespuestasIt needs a co-op mode like Battleborns and/or a horde mode. Something, anything other than just a few PvP maps. If it had more to it i'd buy it but there is nowhere near enough content to justify that price tag and small scale PvP bores me after a day or two. I either need more action, larger fights or much more options for something to do.

Maybe, like you said, a CTF where the flag holder's abilities are turned off. Would be more team work. Tanks defending the carrier, healers keeping them healed up, etc.

Maybe something like supremacy from battlefront if you've played it, it's basically tug of war with control points. The three modes which are planned for launch were enough for me though. :P

One flag would work if carrying the flag canceled all of your abilities. That way everyone moves at the same speed. Having more objectives like domination or classic ctf would spread everyone out and make it boring. I really like the current gamemodes. I don't really see the need for anymore right now.

I'd like a co-op horde mode of some sort. The AI in Overwatch has the capacity to be robust and competent (did you try playing against hard AI? They wrecked). This would also offer a chance for some sort of gamemode that fits in the lore/story of Overwatch, since its hard to justify via lore seeing two Winstons tesla the crap out of each other in competitive play.
