Ok I know I will get some people heated but the sleeper might just be the new gally as far as damage...(I know there two different guns so don't come back and say..."how can you compare a rocket launcher with a fusion) lol I mean on a average it does 20,000 + damage to bosses. I never really found out until I was in prison of elders and equipped it because I left some heavy weapons in the vault. I couldn't believe how much damage it did. Just curious who else rocks it for bosses?
Update: so I misspelled a word and was told to "catch up" lol why so angry. Your allowed to be nice and happy

1 RespuestaSleeper Dragon's breath Gjallarsword Nothing is the new Gjallarhorn. Gjallarhorn is the only Gjallarhorn. All of the above weapons are nice but...

Its the highest non-exotic sword heavy dps on a single target with a precision hit spot. Unfortunately, the spindle outclasses it for dps with consistent precision damage. So why get hype over a heavy that doesn't clear add mobs worth a poop, doesn't out dps the exotic special you should be using, and has too few shots carried to be more total damage or worthwhile to waste shots on yellow bars compared to a rocket or MG? There is literally nothing the sleeper is "best" at or for unless you don't have exotic swords, dont have spindle, or cant consistently be precise with spindle. That is such a pathetically small niche for a weapon what was hyped up as the year 2 gally (keeping in mind gally wouldn't have been used nearly as much if black hammer had been an exotic instead of a legendary). Sleeper is cool, flavorful, and fun. I cant deny that it looks, feels, and sounds like a gift from a sleeping monster genius wargod named Rasputin who wants us to annihilate those creeping or breaking into his bunkers. But being cool and aesthetic doesn't change the fact that it's suboptimal in a lot of situations, in fact nearly all of them unless you count its ease of use over spindle as more important than both dps and total potential damage per full backpack of ammo. Sleeper should get a damage buff, or an ammo backpack buff, or its deflection shots should get a huge tracking buff so they kill lots of ads for free when you crit something. Any or a combination of those would make it less of a niche weapon and more of an ultimate weapon (without necessarily making it OP, since you can keep its total single target damage per hit below the solar exotic sword and/or its add clearing potential below rockets and the void exotic sword). Tldr; it needs a buff to out dps or total damage spindle or have some ad clearing efficacy before its worthy of it's hype or cool factors

You mean raze lighter-_-

Think I'd put dragons breathe over sleeper simulate
-
Nothing will dethrone gjallarhorn pre nerfffffff or post nerf.
-
Sleeper Stimulant just doesn't feel satisfying when it "connects" for the hit. I think it's because it goes THROUGH the enemy and doesn't feel like it's actually connecting, /personal opinion

Honestly it probably the most powerful heavy, I use it for almost all boss fights in strikes. But it's no Gally.. The G-Horn was so powerful, u always felt super safe when wielding one no matter the situation. The Sleeper gives similar comfort but not as reliable. I still love it though, I use the SS all the time. One of my all time favorite weapons.
-
When it first became available it was doing 40K+ on bosses. Some where along the lines it got a damage reduction. I have it on my hunter because tethered bosses getting hit with the sleeper is a beautiful thing.

1 RespuestaCan I ask if armour with carry more fusion ammo works on sleeper? Or does it have to be heavy?

3 RespuestasPpl seem to not like the Sleeper but it's one of my favorite weapons. It's no Gally but I like it better than the fabled rocket launcher when it's loaded with 12 shots, it does noticeable damage to anything i shoot it at and two or more can melt any strike boss I've dealt with thus far. sure you actually have to aim it but it's not a bother to me, and it has such high aim assist that I can effortlessly crit all shots with it.

4 RespuestasYour a bit late bro. I've been using Sleeper for a very long time. Raids, strikes, story missions. It's my absolute go to exotic heavy weapon for insane damage.
-
4 RespuestasCorrect me if I'm wrong but the wolf pack rounds staggered so bosses too. The best thing about jelly horn was the initial explosion removed any shield from any enemy including Omnigul (arc shield) and wolf pack rounds damaged and prevented enemy's from regenerating shields so you could reload. Sleeper is an awesome gun but just like most year 2 exotics, it's very situational. Also dragons breath is a beast of a gun and has similar damage outputs to ghallarhorn if you know how to shoot it

Don't sleep on the dragons breath, it's godly now trust me

7 RespuestasIt's really sad that most of the good weapons are all solar: Gjallarhorn Ice Breaker Invective Sleeper Vision of Confluence Black Hammer/Spindle Raze Lighter Dragon's Breath
-
The sleeper is great for large bosses with an easy crit spot. The Gjallarhorn was great for everything.
-
2 RespuestasIt is but not on all bosses. Psions were easier to kill with Raze Lighter and the solar burn. Figured the sleeper would 1 shot... 2 shots won't do it. Doesn't work well on Omnigul either. Melts most everything else I've tried it on.

2 RespuestasI was doing 40k's against Atheon yesterday with SS
-
6 RespuestasOh yeah the sleeper is a beast. Lots of folks are still ignorant to how good it is. 3 sleepers can melt bosses.
-
2 RespuestasShhh....dragons breath....

Not even close to gally, it is however the best weapon for single shot damage. But for DPS on a boss a sniper is better. Either way it's fun as hell to use, I love getting blasted by it when it bounces off walls and kills me.

It's supposed to be.
