The Mighty Gjallarhorn was....
It was the original Hammer of Sol. A sub-orbital laser. The Deuce of Zeus. With this glorious engine of destruction upon your shoulder, [u]all[/u] were smitten.
Not only was it's blast as mighty as Hulks Camaro, it sent forth [i]tracking freaking cluster bombs[/i]. Elemental shields fell like tattered leaves, followed immediately by a furious barrage of atomic death. Oh the stories of horror that must be told to the frightened children of alien foes throughout the galaxies....
Tales of the lone Guardian that felled Crota, Skolas, the Archon Priest, and countless others, even those thought to be unbreakable.
Yeah, it was pretty good.

Hater edit: there are actually Y2 newbs who never experienced the true Gjallarhorn, and maybe received it from a legacy engram or whatnot. This post is for them, and those who fondly remember it, and perhaps wish to share their favorite memories. If you wanna hate on Gjallarhorn, make your own post.

Getting it is one of my favourite moments from year one. Earlier that day, i did a nightfall, the other 2 in my team both got gallys. Then i got kicked from poe for not having it. At that point i gave up on pve and went into the crucible. I got it at 2 in the morning and may or may not have woken my whole family up [spoiler]oops[/spoiler]

Good ol' Gjallrhorn was the first exotic I got, on the first nightfall I ran.... I still remember the outrage in my friends voices, the tears of joy I shed. I always keep her in my inventory, as a good luck charm. There will never be another like her.

I was a day 1 player that never bought it when it was sold the first time and never had it drop from a raid or anything else since, I stopped playing when HoW came out but recently came back as I got the taken King dirt cheap and thought I'd give it a go. Very happy so far and guess what!? Today I bought an exotic engram from Xur the whole time thinking to myself I wonder if today will be the day I get it.... I decoded the engram and there it was my first G-horn and even though i know it's obsolete I was still seriously excited :)

I still have 3 in the vault. I deleted my 4th and it felt so wrong I couldn't delete the others. I still break it out on occasion for daily missions. It still wrecks.

2 RespuestasYear one boss killer and made learning the crota raid that little bit easier on launch day thank vog for my gally and mythoclast. Id love a year two version for strikes and having fun in pve. Ive kept one for a trophy weapon.

I remember I was legitimately mad when I got my first Gjally because I saw the Grimoire card pop up and I thought it was Red Death but it wasn't.

I enjoyed watching all the YouTube videos of people's reaction when it first dropped for them. Hopefully before the 2nd Destiny comes out they can make all raid weapons from year 1 to 335 light.

I strongly believe the majority of Year 1 players had their most enjoying moment when Ghally dropped them the first time :) It was a special gun and it's glory will always remain in our memories. It will continue to keep a place in my Vault as long as my Character lives :)

2 RespuestasMy Ballerhorn. I recall. Year 1. All of my friends had it, I was the last in the clan to get it. That Sepiks Prime Nightfall, a couple weeks before TTK. I was known for getting the crap drops from everything. But we killed Sepiks. And that beautiful boss burning machine descended from the heavens and into my Inventory... *Tears*
