The Mighty Gjallarhorn was....
It was the original Hammer of Sol. A sub-orbital laser. The Deuce of Zeus. With this glorious engine of destruction upon your shoulder, [u]all[/u] were smitten.
Not only was it's blast as mighty as Hulks Camaro, it sent forth [i]tracking freaking cluster bombs[/i]. Elemental shields fell like tattered leaves, followed immediately by a furious barrage of atomic death. Oh the stories of horror that must be told to the frightened children of alien foes throughout the galaxies....
Tales of the lone Guardian that felled Crota, Skolas, the Archon Priest, and countless others, even those thought to be unbreakable.
Yeah, it was pretty good.

Hater edit: there are actually Y2 newbs who never experienced the true Gjallarhorn, and maybe received it from a legacy engram or whatnot. This post is for them, and those who fondly remember it, and perhaps wish to share their favorite memories. If you wanna hate on Gjallarhorn, make your own post.

5 RespuestasI got a gjallarhorn this past weekend from Xur and it can not be infused ? Other items I have got from Xur has been able to be infused, why not this? Do you know who to ask? I never done these forums before. Don't know where else to go to ask

I remember. Oh the days :'D solar burn nightfalls, any nightfalls, raids, strikes, crucible, you name it Gjallarhorn was there. I know most of you wont care but I just wanted to share the story of how I got mine. It was a late evening and we were running Crota. No one else wanted to run sword so I figured I'd do it on my warlock (31 at the time) and I managed to do it on the second attempt. First one ended in a tragic sword accident. Second time around I did it perfect. As we finished and the location name popped off the screen my friend was yelling that I had gotten the Gjallarhorn. In disbelief I went to orbit. By now I was shaking and when I heard that iconic noise you hear when an exotic enters your inventory I was ecstatic. There it was, this beast of weapon had just become mine. Like I said most people will scroll past this but I just wanted to share :D good luck guardians.

1 RespuestaI remember it being solar burn against Omnigul one week. We all ran through a Weapons of Light bubble and triple Gjallarhorns taking her down in 8 seconds flat. All you heard were 3 consecutive screams aaaaand done. Those were the days.

I thought he was lying, so I said "I get you give bucks that you are lying" Peter that week...... I have him give dollars.

Remember day i got my 1st ghorn was from mister archon him slef off nightfall that day forward from there made destiny 10 times better melting crota like nothing every other foe stood in your way. Wish they bring year one back i miss year one weapons year 2 sucks. R.i.p. ghorn you are missed

2 RespuestasFave moment: Winter's Run old school night fall with solar burn. Just waited for archon priest to spawn, teammates and I shot 2 rockets with weapons of light each, and began dancing. He hit the floor melting before the dance animation ended.

1 RespuestaI remember I used to get the exotic VoG chest every week hoping to get a Gjallarhorn and never got it until one week I jumped up to grab the chest and when I opened it I looked in the bottom left-hand corner to see if anyone in my fireteam got an exotic and saw that it was saying 'Ademmia acquired Gjallarhorn.' At first I couldn't believe it, I just sat there saying "GJALLARHORN! GJALKARHORN! GJALLARHORN!" Then I actually turned my mic of and cried for about ten minutes. Best moment of my life.

I remember barely hitting level 40 and being a total noob in this game. I ha it drop from the nightfall an i had no idea what it was and how good it was. It was the second exotic i got in the game.

5 RespuestasMiss it sooooooo much... When that gun finally dropped for me, I was more excited than any other gaming moment that I can remember. I took it right into Crota's End (poor wording? Haha) and lit that dude up! It was glorious.
