Wo here actually thinks that K/D matters or is a reflection of a players skill

With things like joining matches in progress where the entire enemy team has heavy, or throwing yourself on objectives instead of going for kills, k/d is a very small part of judging pvp skill IMO. Anyone can sit in their spawn with a sniper and rack up kills, or anyone can spawn into a game that's already being lost and a stacked team.

Well apparently your not allowed an opinion, if your kd is under 2, so I'll be quiet.
-
Meh. In my eyes every opponent I see is of neutral skill. Idgaf if they have scarab, full trials armor or using guns with insane rolls. I judge them by how they play, not by how they look. And more times than usual I'm correct in assuming some guy with scarab has average skill and easily stomped out with a shotty 😛

Does not matter.
-
Depends. I am from Australia. lag can be horrendous and make pvp unplayable 75 percent of the time, i still try but shit my k/d sucks balls especially when i go red So for me meh, no big deal
-
With a WL ratio like mine, I guess you do care about KD because if people see your WL ratio is low you'll likely be thought of as a bad player. Therefore having a high KD tells people "I'm actually a good player but Bungie prefers me to carry the people who have no idea how to aim." Or rather, "fail to carry despite topping both leaderboards."
Truthfully, I haven't checked my WL ratio but I am convinced I've lost more than I've won
I think KA/d is more important

KD is not the whole story about a player's skill but it's a good indication taken in part with the number of matches they have played. KD is an indication of how well a player kills other players while staying alive. In playlists that the main purpose is to kill other players it's especially important, but in objective based gametypes, KD isn't very important. In objective gametypes it's more important to stay alive than it is to go on killing sprees even though often times going on killing sprees let's you live longer and deny the other team objectives. Maybe medal count would be a better indicator of skill than just KD. TL;DR version: KD is an important indication of PvP skill but it's not the entire picture.

KD definitely matters. If you have less than a 3.0 don't talk to me peasant.

4 RespuestasWhen you're friend gets a 0.07 k/d twice in a row in two gamemodes, you know that trials isn't necessarily a good thing for him to do...
-
Is a player with a 1.75 kd good if He camps all game and makes his Team lose? No Is somebody with a 1.0 kd but a Lot of assists (teamshot) and an interest into playing the objective good? Mostly yes

4 RespuestasEditado por Insanity: 4/8/2016 8:50:40 AMI bet that all the people who say kd doesn't matter have a low kdr
-
8 RespuestasWe still have skill based match making. A k/d of 2 in a scrub match is not the same as a k/d of 2 in a top tier match K/d means nothing
-
Unless you have like 0.7 or under lol
-
2 RespuestasIt doesn't matter in most cases but if you have a kd of .5, then I'm gonna assume you do something wrong

4 RespuestasEditado por ISaidLigma: 4/8/2016 7:54:54 AMK/d doesn't mean shit. Think of all the times you dick around, let friends kill you for quests, etc.

If i cared about my kd i would have a baaaaad time

61% of this community has under a 1.0 and thinks pvp is ruining destiny.

5 RespuestasPeople act like K/D doesn't matter, it's a stat like in anything! Why does the amount of goals a footballer scores in a season matter to a footballer? Why does the amount of medals won matter to an Athletic runner? If you love doing something, be it Football, Athletics, Darts or anything of course the stats/awards matter to you. Bragging about it and belittleing others about theirs is a dick move though!

19 RespuestasK/D is for salty sweaty ass try hard that think video games are tru competition sport. It is just electronic entertainment nothing more.
-
My kids play Gunsmith weapons Crucible quests Using uncompetitive weapons So many reasons for a low kd. It means nothing to me.
-
you cant tell a players skill 100% of the time I saw a dude getting a 0.3 k/d because he wasn't able to hit anyone because of lag compensation. how did I notice? It felt like a saw him seconds earlier and he was shooting where I were 1 sec ago
-
.5 or less is kinda embarrassing tbh, but honestly I'll respect you for having around .8 or up. So rly low standards for me.
-
5 RespuestasDoesn't really mean a whole lot in a game like this.

1 RespuestaAnything above 0.9 or so usually means you can hold your own, most of the time.
