Destiny simply isn't a big enough game ( content and end game activity wise ) to have made all year one content null & void,
VoG, CE & PoE all yield year 1 rewards.
How do you justify this to someone playing for the first time ?,
All they have is a race to 40 and the the KF raid or ToO, or occasionally IB when it eventually comes around.
Imagine if you were playing destiny for the first time , why would you bother with an activity that gives you items that are of no use,
You can't find a fire team for ( and if you did manage to find one , you'd be booted for not knowing what to do or not being 300 light level ),
How are you supposed to get new players , and there for new customers in, if 3/4 of the game is now redundant ?.
If future updates are going to render previous content obsolete , how do you encourage new people to play ?. Otherwise you will just be left with diehard players and a constantly dwindling player base.
All endgame activities need to yield relevant rewards, this game simply isn't big enough to go making huge parts of it obsolete.
And ffs add in OPTIONAL matchmaking , let us decide if we want to team up with randoms or not. Other games are looking at destiny and learning from your errors , why can't you ?.

50 RespuestasNew player - what's this "Vault of Glass" raid thingy ?, Vet - it's a raid from year one, New player - can we go run it ?, Vet - we could , but the stuff you get is still year one gear. New player - can't I use it in game ?, Vet - you can, but rare drops from patrol are better and higher light level, New player - oh, ok. Not much point in doing that , what's about this " Crota's End " raid ? Vet - erm ... Yeah, pretty much the same as the vault of glass. New player - well that sucks, how about this prison of elders thing at the reef ?, Vet - "sighs" , New player - don't tell me, year one stuff again. Vet - afraid so. New player - ok, so there's 3 raids and one 3 man challenge prison thingy , and all the decent and relevant rewards are found in just 1 of these raids ?, Vet - that's about the size of it. New player - so 75% of the end game activities are pointless ?, Vet - well, you can farm strange coins from the PoE, and buy things from Xur, New player - does he sell top end gear then ?, Vet - erm.... He used to New player - ok, so 3/4 of this game is a waste then , what about this "nightfall" strike .. Vet - to be honest, it was good in year 1, now I'd put it back in with that redundant 75%. New player - so year 1 had some good stuff in it and you had more to do, so what's in year 2 then. Vet - well, we got the same exotics again, oh , we got a dreadnaught , and , erm , we ....erm... We got new strikes to run . New player - so you got year 1 & 2 strikes to do now ?, Vet - erm.... Not exactly ... "Player has left your fire team"

2 RespuestasEditado por RawWilson1: 3/19/2016 11:51:53 AMThat last part, tho:
Why can't Bungie look at their game's mistakes and learn from them, but other developers are looking at Destiny and learning from it's mistakes?
2 RespuestasHow long has WoW been around? They have been doing it for over ten years. That being said I think content should be brought forward aswell but only after the newest content has been out for a while (not 6 months). Hopefully next Wednesday we will see all the endgame coming forward.

2 RespuestasBasically 75% of the game is wasted hard drive space.

For brand new players Id say wait for destiny 2, they missed the ship with this one. It's honestly similar to referring a friend to an old game when the sequel is already out.

3 RespuestasHmmm... This makes sense. You will now be ignored by Bungie.

I stopes reccomending destiny to new players. The game is great if you have it, but new... I simply won't say to go buy it.

Let's just be honest. I don't know who's fault it is. But they messed up with this game. Ya people play it because it's fun. But half the fan base hates the game in general. The rewards system is a limited and joke. You aren't rewarded proportionally for time played. I paid money for fun. But in fact this game is stressing me out. I play video games to get away from stress. So when a game stresses me out this much, that's a sign. Most pieces are useless and the armor you're left with to choose from is just so limited. Only a hand full of weapons are used in crucible because otherwise you suck. Classes aren't even and even sub classes aren't in any way. It makes you play the way the game wants you to play instead of how the player wants to, that is a fail in my eyes when it comes to a game like this. I don't want to be blade dancer in pvp. I like nightstalker. But I can barely get 1 kill with my super because the animation is so long, and the enemy just jumps to avoid my arrow. Because there are such limited items you tend to pick which one you want out of your choice of maybe 10 suitable armor pieces. But then you play for 3 months strictly for one piece and you might never get it. Well I guess I literally just wasted 3 months of my life. That alpha lupi chest piece is impossible to rng. The hunters got 5 helmets in a row from xur. Waste. 3oc used to give me 1/5 now it's more like 1/20. Hours of gameplay difference. Half your year one players left because it's so ridiculous all the choices made for the game. The game feels like it's against me personally, which again is a fail. Because I'm not complaining about service, I'm complaining about not getting what I want despite playing alot and grinding what I am told to grind. The whole system created was just bad. Rng lower usable items. Higher more useful items should be quested like the black spindle was. That way I'm not doing something over and over again for nothing. The fact you will give me Titan gear when I'm a hunter is dumb. I like playing auto rifle/scout, shotgun, sword. Hate fusion rifles and pulse rifles. So I go grind a nightfall or something really really hard for me. Finally get my reward and it's a fusion rifle. Well why did I just play. For something I don't want. And maybe once or twice is OK. But to almost never get a suitable reward for what I need, makes me debate if I should even go play because best chance is I'm going to get a reward of uselessness. You done -blam!-ed up. Just give me my alpha lupi chest that I've grinded over for 3 months now for. I can't stand it anymore and I'm about to go play the division, solely because I was told I will be rewarded for my time. Just like a job. Of course I will leave if I'm being treated this way. And my pay check is being with held but management just says, "keep coming to work, you'll get it eventually, stop being a bitch, I have your money, but every morning I role a dice to see if I should pay you, and it never comes up with your number. Sorry"

2 RespuestasThere is no sound, logical reasoning that would give me the ability to sell Destiny to a new player. I could easily sell the benefits to buying: The Elder Scrolls Online The Division Forza Motorsport 6 Final Fantasy XVI A Realm Reborn Dark Souls 3 Bloodborne Warframe World of Tanks or a whole host of other games. But there is nothing about Destiny post-TTK that would be logical in trying to sell the game to a new player. Those games I listed actually appreciate their players, give more content without removing content, and amply reward a player for their time in the game by rewarding a player with a wealth of equipment that they can readily use. Destiny has none of that.

I stopped telling my friends about Destiny since it's kinda shitty in its current state...

6 RespuestasMultiplayer games with player levels are too brutal for new players. They are better off with a new game like The Division, where they can run with players at their level instead of Trials vets rocking a Doctrine of Passage and Invective.

Editado por MGB: 3/19/2016 1:32:20 AMI guess a new player could get more playtime out of Destiny with it's current relevant than some other games, but a lot of them would wonder what the -blam!- all that redundant content is, and why nobody wants to run it with them.
-
Since vanilla Destiny I've been the one telling people too not buy this game and too just save their money and get something else.

That story missions don't reward other than the one quest line is an immediate turn off

Honestly, 1 major piece of end game content is fine ... if, and only if, it takes a long time to reach end game. I've played other RPG games where it takes months to reach the top level, and top level players spent time helping others level up. In those games, intermediate content is relevant to progression. In destiny, you can easily max out level and reach 280 light in a week. The entire game is an endgame experience, so one piece of endgame content is insufficient.
