So, I recently returned to Destiny. I left shortly before the Dark Below DLC so it has been a while. Seems as though everyone favors Pulse Rifles now, and that is fine...but the nerf to Hand Cannon range is kind of bumming me out. Not that I am really locked down on hand cannons, I just play best in PvE and PvP with them over other weapons. I have Bad JuJu, Red Death, etc. I have used both for PvE and PvP and while I like them, I do not get the same accuracy with pulse rifle as I do Hand Cannons. I like the do a snap shot type of game play, where I move slowly side to side lining head shots. This works for me best, and I do not get good results with pulse rifles in PvP or PvE compared to heavy hitting single shots. The reason I am here today is because in some strikes, I noticed a massive drop in damage when shoot at a range with my hand cannons. I do not have a good sniper rifle yet, which I intended to wield a Hand Cannon and Sniper for multi ranges. But, I am here today to ask two questions. One about Hand Cannon with the best range and one about Scout Rifles being likewise to Hand Cannons with damage / impact. So to ramble, I guess I like to explain to much rather than just asking lol.
Question 1:
Which Hand Cannon has the best range, I am seeing The First Curse has a good range but I only looked at exotics. I have been thinking between Ace of Spades and The First Curse for my Hunter.
Question 2:
Are there any Scout Rifles that act like Hand Cannons? I have used a few, and they seem to have ok impact, good range, yet hit kind of light. I am fond of making each shot count with a hand cannon, but I am open to Scout Rifles if they perform in a similar (hard hitting good impact) fashion.
I main a GunSlinger right now if anyone is curious or needs to know to help with answers, since some weapons are class specific now I am told. Ace of Spades and The First Curse have my attention, plus they might look nice with my Golden Gun being the same model as those Hand Cannons lmao.

5 RespuestasEditado por SOB BADD0GGIE: 3/16/2016 5:09:23 PMWith regard to scouts, they're all going to hit a bit "light" in comparison to HC's. Hand Cannons are designed to hit like a truck but fire relatively slow to balance the high impact out. They're supposed to be aimed deliberately as opposed to spray and pray (at least the higher impact HC's follow this niche). Similarly, the higher impact SR's will have a higher range, and lower RoF are to be more of a deliberate or precision weapon. The highest impact you can get on an SR at the moment is 61 (as opposed to an impact of 90+ that you can get with HC's). An impact of 61 will give you a 3 shot kill (pending all three shots are to the head) which isn't too bad considered the near sniper range that you get with higher impact scouts. There's three different archetypes of SR's those being low impact/high RoF, mid impact/mid RoF, high impact/low RoF, and they're pretty much the same with regard to statistics within their respective groups. The low impact/high RoF scouts (like the NL Shadow) aren't all that great and take a lot of rounds in order to kill (hence the high RoF). In PvP these will take 5 (apparently) rounds (or more) to kill which is why they're not all that great in comparison to other weapons in a different class. The mid/mid SR's (Hung Jury is probably the most popular of these) are where the majority of SR users hang out at. These are the "jack of all trades" with regard to weapon use. They can be effective in PvP and PvE alike. In PvP, these will usually kill in 4-5 headshots, depending on your target's armor build. If you're using exotics in your primary, Mida most closely fits into this category and will kill in 4 HS. The high impact/low RoF scouts (like Colovance's Duty) are generally good for PvP but are situational in PvE. SR's in this type are those that can three shot as stated above. With the right perk rolls and the appropriate situation you could potentially two shot with them (reactive reload, crowd control, bubble-buffs, etc). Of course, your best bet is to find what best suits you. SR's are meant to be used from mid to long range. If you're not that type of player, then you probably shouldn't be using them. HC's are much more forgiving with hipfire than SR's are. Since you're running GG, a single shot from Curse followed by a throwing knife will usually be enough to finish off your opponent. It's relatively easy to obtain, also, so that might be your best bet. Edited for accuracy. I never really liked the high RoF SR's so I kinda guessed at it.

Editado por XM3RKDX: 3/16/2016 8:16:39 PMDoctrine of passing ................... High rof used to death right now in crucible.i know it's not a scout but just thought I'd throw it into the mix. Nl shadow is pretty nice too btw and yes that is a scout.

You left before TDB and HoW era?... wtf that was like the best time to play destiny!! Smh
-
Jade rabbit, cocytus, last extremity, and Colovance's duty. 3 shot head shots in pvp.
-
Hard hitting scouts are pretty much described by rate of fire and impact as always. Colovances duty and last extremity both have that sluggish fire massive hit. Both crit over 70 per shot so definitely a three shot kill. I would suggest these over hand cannons now for sake of range and accuracy. I haven't been fortunate enough to get eyasluna yet but from what I can tell it's pretty stout and accurate for a cannon
-
Iron banner scout rifle + First curse hands down - ace of spades if you love a good firefly - they are both exotic hand cannons so it's an easy mid game exchange if needed
-
i have 2 HCs that i love. an eyasluna with rangfinder and revelator with explosive rounds both really good. eysaluna with rangfinder gives quite a good increase in accuracy.
-
My eyasluna on my titan has good range.

6 RespuestasAuto rifles are the best in crucible now bud

2 RespuestasHand cannons suck now, it just bums me out. If you try to use them in a raid you will be running around with an empty primary most of the time. The reserve ammo sucks. They have absolutely no range what so ever, and half the time it feels like you are shooting blanks. They really screwed up Hand Cannons.
-
First Curse will probably be your best ranged handcannon. And Jade Rabbit is the hardest hitting scout technically since body shots will increase its next headshot's damage per body shot you did. Other y2 scouts with the same impact, but no damage buff like that include Last Extremity (crucible vendor), Cocytus SR4 (Gunsmith package), and Covalance's Duty (Iron Banner). I believe they're all 72 damage per headshot within optimal range. On a side note, they hit for 99 damage per headshot if you run a weapons of light bubble.
-
The thing with hand cannons now is that, you can't rush your shots. The First Curse excels at some precision shooting especially if you got the perk to proc Ace of Spades isn't bad from what I've heard, and people like the mini-hawkmoon (can't spell the name, starts with an e)
-
High impact scouts hit as hard as most handcannons . Jade rabbit is the best of this high dmg archetype.
-
I love the first curse, big fan of that gun, range is great but still notice damage falloff.
-
With hc first curse is definitely the best for your play style although if you can get an eyasluna or imago loop with good range perks you'll be set. For scouts cocytus from the gunsmith jade rabbit exotic, last extremity from crucible and colovances from ib are your best options.

Editado por Kramer: 3/16/2016 2:41:52 PMOmolon Cocytus. Max scout impact with incredibly good base stats. Check my Titan and Hunter. Pick up an order from the gunsmith and wait for a good roll. I have two, both 320. 1. PVE roll Small bore (hand laid stock is ideal) Firefly Life support 2. PVP roll Hand laid stock Third eye Triple tap (life support would be ideal)
-
First curse has the highest range of any hand cannon but ace of spades and Eyasluna are also super good choices with decent clip sizes, if you want a scout that hits like a handcannon then get last extremity from the crucible quartermaster, covelances duty from iron banner, or the cocytus from the gunsmith as they all have an impact of 61 and trust me they all hit like a truck. Happy hunting :)

Editado por Impurity41: 3/16/2016 2:21:32 PMBest impact on scouts is 61. Jade rabbit, last extremity and one other that I forgot have 61.

2 RespuestasEditado por TheGreatestScrub: 3/16/2016 2:02:34 PMFirst curse, besides its already great range, also has 2 perks that increase it. One of them does it at all times. As for scout rifles, I like the cocytus sr4 from the gunsmith. It's from the hardest hitting archetype. ~TheGreatDC
