No, it never states that slavery is wrong: it does, however, give instructions on how to treat their slaves.

If you read it you'd know that alot of the laws he gave the isrealites was to at least add some morality to the immoral behavior

No, you are right. In the bible it does tell slaves to listen to their masters and always preform their tasks. However, the slavery during the time of the Romans had much better conditions than the slavery in America. Also, in the bible it said for masters to free their slaves every 7 years.

1) Deuteronomy was way before Roman occupation 2) The Jews held slaves long before Romans were in Canaan; the 7 year rule is actually a Roman tradition 3) It's still slavery

I was more talking about references to slavery in the New Testament, not in Deuteronomy.

Alright, my point still being that the "heathen" Romans were the ones who applied the 7 years' rule (granted I have a much more broad knowledge of Roman culture, considering my 4-ish years of Latin).

I was just stating the facts in the argument. In no way do I support slavery, but that was a thing in the Roman Empire, and the situation is laid out in the bible
