I've played destiny since the first week in 2014. I've done the raids, trials, iron banner, prison of elders, etc. I've mounted the heads of Skolas, Atheon, Crota, and most recently Oryx above my fireplace. I cried when I got Gjallahorn for the first time... Only to weep once again when it was nerfed to the ground. I've made new friends and new memories. At 14 cents an hour total in gameplay, I'd say I've gotten my money's worth.
But recently I've realized that this game has grown stale. More and more issues have been popping up in crucible and PvE. I've tried to look past the sweaties in crucible running year 1 party crashers, thorns, and felwinters. I've tried to ignore the increasing number of salty "MLG" raiders who kick you if you die more than once in the raid. I've moved on from the fact that my vision of confluence, Gjallahorn, and murmur (yes I used murmur) sit collecting dust in my vault. I've even continued to play through the fact that my original raid team have all left destiny in search of better games.
Bungie, I am a loyal fan and I love destiny despite all its problems, but if you want anyone to play Destiny 2 then you had better get your sugar honey iced tea together. Why do I think this? Because The Division is in a great place to usurp you.
I played both division betas, and loved every freaking second of it. It was in a word BETTER than destiny. Mechanics were awesome, no lag, bugs, or overpowered weapons. The graphics were off the hook, and the open world was better than your planet system. And I am not the only destiny player to think this. Heck, the whole world thinks it too.
Just give The Division a Google and you'll see that Destiny is about to have its *blank* rocked. So Bungie, what will you do to save yourself? How will you survive the great migration? Because it's been fun but you know what they say, "the grass is always greener on the other side", and in this case that is 100% accurate.
Edit 1: Damn over 400 responses. Thanks for taking the time to give me your take on this, you've all given me a lot to think about. Ps I'm also glad for the people bashing my opinion: it means that destiny still has loyal fans. Also I don't mean to trash destiny too bad, I still love the game and will play destiny 2, I just think that The Division has a good chance to capture the attention of tired destiny players looking for a fresh start.

6 RespuestasThe whiny, bullshit filled fan boys on here need to eat another ding ding and shut the -blam!- up. Destiny is not the greatest game ever made. BUNGIE has -blam!-ed us at every turn, and that won't stop. However, it is fun and I truly enjoy it. The Division will not be the ground breaking best game ever. It just won't be. However, it will be fun, I loved the beta, and I bought the gild edition because of it. Just because your inner fan boy can't allow you to play 2 things without getting butthurt, don't poison the forums with your garbage.

14 RespuestasGood luck on the Division! I'd argue the Division/Destiny are too mechanically different for a direct competitive comparison, but the Division does push RPG aspects in a solid way. I'm still curious for an end-game content release model. Which to my knowledge hasn't been talked about yet. (IE, Division's equivalents of Strikes, Raids, etc) While I realize talking about a DLC roadmap is ironic, Destiny had a lot of push towards VoG on vanilla launch. I'd be more comfortable with a Day 1 purchase of Division if I knew it'd feature some end-game activities to that effect.

I can't wait for the division! I'm hoping that there will be more than just story missions and the dark zone though..

It was not better than Destiny. It was fun and a nice change of pace. It has the same if not more of a grind than destiny. The DZ is the end game and we've already seen it. (That we know of) The story will take a couple days to a week. And then we will have to do it all again on hard... I liked the mechanics and stuff, but destiny is far superior.

6 Respuestas3rd person shooting is terrible for a AAA game title to the point of making the game cheap.
-
15 RespuestasOh ya,nothing like running aimlessly around in the streets and through buildings that basically look THE SAME...in hopes in finding something to shoot. If that's your thing then enjoy playing Division.Destiny is still fun for me,also a player since 1st week it came out.

Disagree with your opinions. Destiny will survive and do much better!
-
Sure, until Uncharted 4 comes out

After my Gold Tier dropped me a 300 artifact, I'd say I'm more than ready.

I'm buying division I liked it a lot
-
Not migrate, will play many games. I might be old but I can enjoy many things.
-
I agree that the division is going to be a great game and I am also wondering what bungie will do to servive the migration
-
I have never met these 'MLG' raiders you people speak of. Every raid group I've ever been in only kicks people if they suck and put us behind by an hour or so.
-
Year 1 Player - Well I guess I'm leaving Destiny too since you obviously can't play more than 1 game.
-
I'm ready, hurry up see ya next week
-
I will be moving on to dark souls 3

3 RespuestasEditado por markymarc309: 3/1/2016 10:01:32 PMDestiny won't die because Bungie created a hamster wheel dangling a carrot, and there will always be at least one stupid hamster. I played the beta for the Division and really enjoyed it. Will it have the content that will keep people like Destiny did? I don't know, but I also haven't noticed Ubisoft pushing the "it will have 10 years of relevance" like Bungie is. Honestly, we all had destiny beat within the first week of the release of the main game and each of the expansions. After that, all they did was keep us hooked with the grind, and then kept us lured in like a pedofile with candy. Look at the weekly updates for example: they were written in a way that made it sound like something new was around the corner. Deej's "I'm here to tell everybody that I'm going to hint on something great that's going to get announced at some point for something new and exciting". So everyone stays to get that last exotic or cap their light level, and then here comes festival of the lost. The division may not keep our interests anymore then other typical games, but it's something new and a chance to step off that hamster wheel and see Destiny for what it really is. I apologize in advance for any bad grammar. I'm typing this on my phone sick and just started rambling.

Editado por timmosupremo: 3/1/2016 8:44:50 PMBrowsing the Division forums and even these forums should be fun once it launches, since Division is getting timed release content that'll be on Xbox first

14 RespuestasThey said fallout would kill destiny They said bo3 would kill destiny And now you're saying the division will kill destiny. Jeezus it's like you people are in a continual Goddamn loop. No game kills another. There will always be players in destiny, and I'm sure some of you will comeback to play time from time. But that doesn't mean the division will kill destiny.
What'll really kill it is if Bungie studious burned to the ground
I can compare Destiny to only one thing in this world, A Dead Horse. and every now and then Bungie decides to hook a car battery to its nuts for a lil jolt, then all the lil devoted Bungie peons com running back to their controllers to grind in hopes they will get that chocolate ghost that never really actually dropped. its really dead to be honest, ne next jolt will be in the spring. and this dude does not fall for shady tactics.
