The Outpost
The Outpost is a desert social hub located on Deimos (Mars’ other moon which happens to be very small) that consists of tents and stone buildings. Inspiration comes from early Destiny concept art and the Star Wars Cantina. The Outpost’s design has a market style setting with most vendors hanging around outside of buildings. It is available by default. As lore the Nine sent an invitation for the guardians to prepare to enter the outer system and the Outpost is a refuge for them there, since the lack of Cabal officials has caused the Cabal to abandon Deimos and move to Mars as reinforcements. Lox oversees the Outpost as representative of the Nine.

The Shooting Range:
This is a mini game within the social hub. At the end of the first area is where you will find Lox. She will have bounties that call for you to get so many points or precision shots or enemy target type matches. To start a match you go past her to an interface board (much like exotic armor/weapon board). Here you pick between what type of enemy you want to shoot (Fallen, Hive, Vex, or Cabal) for a set amount of glimmer. Once this choice is made and verified a door opens that only you or a fireteam of up to three can enter.
This brings you to the another area of Deimos. Cosmetic Crates, transmat flags, weapon crates, landed city ships, and transmat spots for turrets litter a rocky terrain much like Mars. The area is fairly large and has a couple hollowed out buildings. The entire area is walled off or meets rocky dunes. There are a few small objectives like finding a station to upload a sparrow link, or transmitting a relic without letting enemies touch it (much like the Vex conflux public event), can be done but is optional. No experience is earned in the range, but Outpost bounties will give experience once completed.
Enemies are light blue hologram version of their respective counterpart. These are projections from a tiny ghost-like A.I. seen inside the hologram. They fire weapons but deal no damage. There are no majors. They will constantly spawn from certain points all around the map. Enemies can drop a “Data Cache” which can be turned into the Cryptarch for 200 glimmer. After a certain amount of time or kills a random unnamed ultra will spawn. This can be killed in any time frame. After its defeat it has a chance to drop something called a “Range Token.” This can be turned into Lox in exchange for reputation much like Petra and Etheric Light. Ultras can be one of the following:
Hive Ultra:
Ogre
Knight
Fallen Ultra:
Walker
Archon
Cabal Ultra:
Primus
Goliath Tank
Vex Ultra:
Gatelord
Cyclops

Finishing can be done by simply holding “Y” (Xbox example). No rewards are given in the endgame menu. The amount of Kills, precision kills, Ultra kills, and time spent in the Range are shown. Kills count as 1 point, precision kills count as 2, and Ultra kills count as 5. Precision killing the Ultra will grant an extra point as well.
Outposts Quests and Easter Eggs
1: A Rugby ball can be found in the Outpost which can be interacted with.
2: At Gunsmith Rank 5 Roman-17 will sell a legendary machine gun called “Starlord” which has stats and perks identical to Thunderlord except it deals kinetic damage and does not have the exotic perk. It can be bought for 175 legendary engrams. A string of quest steps will have to be completed when a player buys Starlord and by the end you have the option to pick between The Firelord, Thunderlord, or Novalord based on what materials you have like the legendary swords.
3: Ghost fragments will be scattered throughout the Outpost.
4: Quests for the Shooting Range are
“Cabal Targets”-75 points on Cabal Mode

6: Bella Orskan will give a quest once the player is rank one in Outpost that requires gathering materials. This involves donating her regular materials, VoG materials like Ascendant Energy, Crota’s End materials, Hadium Flakes, and Etheric Light. This rewards a legendary pulse rifle called the “Pouncer BNGL”. It has a signature perk called “Unseen”-Precision kills while crouched have a chance to grant invisibility for a short time.
Notes
1: Finishing a match of Shooting Range gives 10 points of Reputation if the match lasted 15 minutes or longer.
2: Consumables do not work in the Shooting Range.
3: Bounties may be subject to increase the amount of points required.
4: “Pouncer BNGL” has paint job synonymous to the “Stalker BNGL”. It also has a silencer muzzle with muffled firing sound.
5: Once a relic is claimed, the fireteams will get the “Boundless Light” buff for ~1 minute.
6: On weekends Orskan could sell exotic shards.
7: Debating on whether or not the Pouncer BNGL questline would require King’s Fall Materials.
