Free ghost = bungie is desperate
I hate to post this shit but I'm calling bungie out here. That free 320 ghost is desperate marketing at its finest. I guess player log in time has been decreasing of late (no duh, where is our PvE content) bc throwing a 320 item out for free will certainly get people to come back even if it is just to get 7 matches completed. Then bungie can have an article posted about how log in rate has never been higher. Cmon bungie just give us another PvE related dlc, I don't care if I have to pay for it. I'm tired of doing the same raid over and over and over again!!
*edit: well hell this certainly blew up last night. Glad to see I've rustled some jimmies by posting something controversial! Too bad half the criticism is in the form of squeakers and die hard desticles bad mouthing everyone left and right that goes against their precious belief that this game is inherently good.

No, it was because it is legitimately impossible to get ghosts. They advertised this event as ghostfilled, but people have played for over 30 hours and only gotten one ghost. They made a major programming error and this is their apology.

Did you not read the latest information? There is a dlc coming this spring followed by a much bigger one this fall.

Listen to Lief on the planet destiny podcast. The expected drop rate is not aligned to the expected completion time.

I mean, I've almost been through as many HM raid ghosts as I've had HM completions and not one of them has been 320. So to go from that poor RNG - and a bell curve that seems to peak around 312, when it should have been 315 - to hand out 320 for participation........ Hence, even if getting a 320 ghost benefits me it would have been more consistent to just give every character two ghost, one of each in the valentine event, and with random stats. Lastly, I did play valentine's but only after the announcement of the 320 Ghost and only those minimum 7 games so I do feel a bit hypocritical.

4 RespuestasSo I get where you're coming from. Seems like they need to panic and try anything to get their player base back. Would make sense. Desperate times come to desperate measures. But... to play Devils advocate. Is it possible that they are just listening? I know it's hard to believe. But with something so small as crimson days. They need it to work. Just like srl did with the sparrows and helmets. If your drop rate was broken then, people would have really reduced how they played crimson days. I know many people say they want srl back. So they definitely need to make sure if it's not working on only a week long event, they should reward their mistakes. So they can keep creating these weekly events. Just a thought man. I know everyone has been really hard on bungie, I have also. But in the same, depending the direction they take this game, is gonna depend how many people stay or new plays they get. They are here to make money for there investors in the end. They just happen to love games like we do. "Never do something for free if your good at it"

I for one NEEDED this... the past three iron banners and every week inbetween i have GRINDED for a 320 ghost.. all three characters got to rank 5 and i continued to play nonstop hoping to get the 320 ghost..hell during the last IB i joined a team that was intentionally being mercied just to (increase) the chances of getting the drop.

Just like what King Gothalion said. 320 ghosts will be irrelevant in atleast a couple of months. So it's abit foolish and very selfish to criticize others who probably get kicked from raids just for been from a different country or been young.,

Ever thought this is the new ceo doing this. Ever since he took over they've sent out the survey, addressed crucible, finally addressed the lack of pve and now have fairly quickly addressed the low drop rate In CD. I say good on them. They are a company and all companies make mistakes they are only human at least they are trying to fix it it seems
