Hi In the past 2 months there have been about 4-5 different waves of bans/restrictions that have gone out to players that have been found to have be cheating or whose connections hampered the quality of life in the crucible. Bungie has taken cheating and punishing very serious. If you feel someone has cheated please use the in-game reporting system so Bungie can be warned of them and investigate. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/12960

  • The reports have to be researched before they ban someone. You can't expect to file a report and simply never see that person again.

  • why am i getting paired with the same people time after time and why cant they put something in place to stop people that are cheating getting on in the first place?

  • Since the pairings are based on connection quality (I think that's still priority?), it's not terribly unlikely to see the same people from time to time. That happened to me also a few times and is to be expected. How would you propose they stop a cheater before they get online? For starters, the large majority of red bar players are *not* intentional lag switchers as the community seems to have started to assume. Secondly, they depend a lot on us to use the reporting tools we have to be pointed at people that might be cheating. Lastly, due to human nature, you can be absolutely certain that some asshats abuse the reporting system to try to get people in trouble, so every report does need to be properly researched before they just start booting people. It's a process. Let it work. Good luck guardian.

  • why havent i had the same people game after game on the trials then? why does my mate who has a poor internet connection still get taken down fine in the crucible? they should kick people to orbit when their connection fluctuates rather than ruining peoples games when they have spent a lot of money on it

  • There will always be systems inplace to try and twart cheaters but new tech and methods will always find new ways to adapt and still work around it. Thats why the in game report system is there. They can't filter everyone and some methods are at first undetectable without a person literally sitting and watching the game data. That being said thank you for reporting them though. If they have been cheating against others, hopefully they will also report them snd bungie will look at their case sooner ^_^.

  • why dont you employ people to monitor the game then? its not like you didnt make enough over charging people for a game that doesnt work!

  • Do you realise that at any given moment there could be upwards of three million people playing Destiny? Using the tools we have been given is the *only* possible way to do this.

  • thats not a good enough excuse! they should account for the amount of users before they release a game in the first place so blaming the amount of people playing is just poor.

You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, I'm done wasting my time trying to explain it to you. Never let silly things like facts and science hold you down. Good luck. Edit: I'd bet that if you combined *all* employees from *all* companies that make online games, it would still be vastly less people than login to any online game in a given day. That's not how this works... That's not how any of this works. Lol

  • you didnt explain anything and to say i dont know what im on about is a joke! im collecting footage of people cheating and showing they are still on the game after numerous reports have been filed. saying there are 3 million users but it will pair me with the same people repeatedly on crimson doubles is just proof you dont have a clue

  • I explained why you would see the same people sometimes. I explained that they can't stop cheaters *before* they get online. I explained that they can't possibly monitor every user and every game. I explained that you need to use the reporting tool. I *could* explain how seeing a player after you have reported them (opposed to not seeing a player you reported) is confirmation bias and proves nothing... But you clearly just want to complain about something you don't understand. For example... Maybe they *did* look into a person you recorded and reported and *maybe* they confirmed it's just a bad connection and not a lag switcher. But I didn't mean to bother you with stupid things like logic. My bad. Maybe we can work it out in doubles... :-)

  • Of course not. That's why during Iron Banner I reported maybe five people for crap connection and one person for cheating. Using the reporting tools.

  • There are thousand of games going at once. It would be impossible to employ enough individuals to watch those kind of game volume numbers. Thats why the report tool is there. Then they can flag the games to review. But I must mention that I am a forum "help"er and a member of the community I am not a bungie employee :3
