I'm not complaining about how bad the weekly update is, but now that bungie made it "official" in the weekly update that skill-based matchmaking is in fact a part of the way players are matched up (we all knew this was the case since ttk came out), I figured I should post something about it. TripleWRECKS's opinion isn't any more important than ours, but I 110% agree with him. SBMM is ruining the experience for me and many others. The sole factor that should belong in matchmaking is connection. Nothing else. I'm not insanely skilled at pvp, and the amount of lag due to the several other factors that go into matchmaking really kills it for me. The fact that the variety of weapons used right now in the crucible has hit an all time low doesn't help our PvP experience also. PvE is dry too, but this topic is about PvP only.
Now, if you are one of those rare people (if any) that support this system, then why don't you ask for ranked league play and/or private matches on the feedback forums? That way if SBMM gets back out of regular crucible, then everyone would be happy.
Edit: SBMM is skill-based matchmaking
Edit 2: 27 Likes on this post already. Ya...the majority of the community hates crucible right now.

If they want to implement a system where similarly skilled players face each other, introduce a ranked playlist and introduce dedicated servers. You can't match players on a peer to peer hosting system and NOT match them based on connection to each other. It's absolutely ridiculous. If you want the good players to stop stomping on the newbs, then give us private/custom matches and give us a ranked playlist. Otherwise, prioritise connection. Nobody is enjoying crucible right now, be it the tryhards or the casuals and it's been like this for FIVE MONTHS. It's little wonder people are saying this game is dead, because it just about is and it's bungie that's killing it.

SBMM causes a problem with reverse boosting it was so obvious with COD AW.

7 RespuestasI quit 2 fps for having sbmm. Destiny is one of them. I called it 2 days after the srl started and that's when they implemented it. Sbmm only ruins the game.

As someone who lives in Australia I can no longer solo queue on my hunter because there's not enough players at that skill level playing at that specific point in time, so I'm forced if I'm lucky to wait 10 minutes to find a match with only 7 people in the game, and no one joins ever
-
Sbmm should be in ranked playlists for sure... But we don't have those so let's try and focus on baby steps, eh Bungie? Maybe limit 3 red bars per team?! Now that's progress

3 RespuestasSBMM belongs in ranked playlist, not casual game modes.

23 RespuestasEditado por White_Ducky_: 1/23/2016 3:34:47 PMIf top players are currently put against to players, nothing they do is a true representation of how they are in the scheme of the total player base. Now kd only represents how good you are against your current elo bracket. People saying thier kd had improved since ttk, but bungie is giving everyone a flat 1.0 since you are put against people your skill level and not the general population. Now you can achieve a 1.0 and be one of the worst players in the game and some of the best will have the same kd. It's basically an artificial number now. Who knows of you got better to achieve that. The second problem is the lag it introduces. Sbmm isn't a good thing to use. The only players that think so are the bad ones who couldn't win against better opponents and wanted free wins. Edit. I think sbmm is a good thing, but only when in a ranked playlist

1 RespuestaI think one of things I like to highlight is when he talks about the trust between the developers and the community

The ease in which one hit kill weapons can be sustained makes any amount of lag suck that much worse. Getting matched up against euros or aussies gives about a half second delay. Just figure an extra half second staring down a scope before anyone sees you in the hall, or hard charging with a shotty.

2 Respuestas
The sole factor that should belong in matchmaking is connection. Nothing else.
I think connection should be first priority for sure, but can skill be second? like a filter tier list?
The fact that the variety of weapons used right now in the crucible has hit an all time low doesn't help our PvP experience also.
Idk man. I think there is way more variety right now. more so than thorn and TLW from year one pvp, and Ghorn only in PVE.

2 RespuestasI'm just tired of having to sweat in every game of pvp when I just want to get online and play a couple of fun relaxing games
-
Took me a while to even enjoy destiny PvP, and it took me 8 months to bring my .6 to above 1.0. Crucible is just horrible now. The sbmm is making it unbearable. Getting wrecked most games. It's bs. I'm not good enough for this, and it has stopped being fun.

As much as will probably agree with you post if I read it, I stopped at 110%

10 RespuestasI like playing good players. It helps me get better. Every match I play is loaded with flawless emblems and scarabs. It's a lot of fun. But every match has at least one red bar. Usually 2 or 3... And I play skirmish... Lol but when we all have solid connection and we're all good players it is so much more fun to have a challenge then to just pub stomp crappy randoms all day long.

Bungie likes to make things hard for players that were initially easy. Just looking back at all those dump updates...

3 RespuestasEditado por PhNx Hellfire: 1/23/2016 9:40:49 PMYou ever seen a non SBMM game? Go play gears of war. Heck go play any of them. You play any of those games as anything competitive? I'll give you one month before your sick of backpacking kids who go .1 k/d in a match... That simple simple phrase... "You went 1 kill for every 10 deaths..."

Matchmaking needs to be like the one in Halo 3 I think

I wont complain about sweaty games but those lags -blam!- me everyday. I am in UK and i have to queue vs ppl from US and Japan cuz this shitty new matchmaking system
-
6 RespuestasDude, what you should be asking for is Dedicated servers, skill matchmaking helps everyone.
-
3 RespuestasFireteams of more than three should only be matched against other fireteams of more than three. I'm sick of being grouped against huge teams every IB when my team is all randoms. There are plenty of four+ member fire teams playing in IB, so just make them wait for each other and sweat it out.
-
2 RespuestasI don't care about matchmaking. Just for the love of god STOP PUTTING ME IN GAMES IN PROGRESS
