Thats pretty much the problem. A constant flood of new and often non-committal players frustrates veterans, for one. Additionally you have a much higher chance of encountering very young children in a free to play environment, which can spoil the experience for some. Nevermind the fact that its pretty unfair to those who did buy the game.
