Is Destiny dead?
Who is still playing? And why? Are you new? Severe pvp head? Just love repetitive grinding? Seriously, with no new content before Destiny 2, what keeps you playing? The joys of sparrow racing or lost festivals?
Edit: When I say that Destiny is dead, I don't mean for good. I know people will be back when significant content drops, probably in September. But it's pretty damn dead now. My once overflowing friends list is a ghost town.

Yeah I'm just here for PvP and getting my hunter and warlock to 320. Its very dead right now sadly but when you play it all the time like the majority of us do you get burned out sooner or later :/

Not Dead just dry. Destiny has been lacking content for too long and I agree that Bungie has been too silent and seemingly doesn't care about everyone voicing their concerns. Because on the inside we all want Destiny to be the game we all expected it to be at E3.

Nope, it takes no time to find a pvp game to play. Weekly strikes matchmake me quickly as well. Always people in the tower and reef and LFG sites are always full of people looking to raid. Not dead in the slightest, there are many great games to play and Destiny will be that game for many for years to come. [spoiler]pumped for the division[/spoiler]

3 RespuestasNot really dead or dying, just a two year old game. Makes perfect sense to me that people aren't really buying it or playing it as much anymore... Did you all expect it to stay buzzing like it did when like dark below and stuff was coming out? This community is so damn delusional. Destiny 2 is coming out!!! This first one can die! It doesn't have to stay at the same lvl of popularity that it had a month after it came out. The buzz will be back for destiny 2, in fact it will probably be more because the player base is built now and Bungie will have most definitely learned from their mistakes in destiny 1.

Interest is dying out for sure, and the community is shrinking (here and on reddit it's quieter, streamers with much lower viewing figures, I think everyone can see less friends online playing too). But it's completely understandable. The game is 16 months old, with no new substantial content for around 4 months now, with (what feels like to me at least) a big lack of end game content. Bungie probably aren't that arsed though. They've made shed loads of money from Destiny. They'll just be holding up until they've got a sequel announcement.

Been in it since the Beta. Played everyday since then. Quit two weeks ago. Love the game, love the Crucible. I meet amazing people on this game. But sadly there's nothing new for me to do at the moment. I'll be back for sure, either on the next dlc or Destiny 2.

Destiny does run out of substantial content like any other game but the progression system is still there and the game is fun hence why people still play and come back But believe it or not other games do come out. So when call of duty or halo comes out some people will play that. But that doesn't mean destiny is dead. Because when the next new thing comes out people will stop playing cod to some extent and go play that. The key here is do people keep coming back. Which they obviously do

9 RespuestasI think it's pretty washed up. Bungie has abandoned it, allegedly to get Destiny 2 ready. I'm just going out on a limb here, but I think they abandoned their periodic paid dlc due to dwindling numbers. With each dlc came fewer purchasers, and I'm thinking they realized there wouldn't be much profit left in continuing that model... So they scrapped the game a year after launch. Just my guess. I still play it though ugh

to keep myself busy I have now set my task of getting faction exotics, my hunter is lvl 8 FWC, and my titan is lvl 4 for new monarchy. Let the glimmer/heavy ammo grind begin :)

Been gaming for over twenty years, all games are a repetitive grind...just with graphics upgrades now and then lol, but this game can be fun and I enjoy farming niche builds. Don't have time for MMO's anymore so this is fun easymode for me.

9 RespuestasNo. No game that is less than a year and half old is going to be able to supply enough new content to allow people to play for 3 hours a day....>EVERY DAY....and not get bored at some point. Fact is, I'm seeing a LOT of Christmas noobs running around, and they seem to be having a grand old time. I stopped to help a couple of level 20s fight their way into the Black Garden just yesterday. I am a daily player since the Beta and Day One. I keep playing for one simple reason....I ENJOY PLAYING THE GAME. I don't need loot. I don't need new story. I am able to take pleasure in subtle changes and challenges. I play all three character classes....and not three versions of the same character like some people do. So there is always something to do....and always something to do DIFFERENTLY, even if I've done it before. But for those gamers who need an endless stream of "new".....this is the wrong TYPE of game for you.
