A fair comment...and less like calling people childish for not accepting Bungies decision - which I disagree with. I personally think that Bungie should take responsibility for us not being able to access Iron Banner, after all it's a tournament they promote and only allow access through PSN - whether this is by choice or not, their service uses PSN to function. If their service is not accessible in the time period it was advertised, it should be extended. If you missed your cinema screening due to a power cut, you would expect to be given a free viewing no?

  • Why have Bungie take responsibility for Sony's problem? Did Bungie cause PSN to go down? No. Why would they take responsibility for something they have absolutely no control over?

  •
Why have Bungie take responsibility for Sony's problem? Did Bungie cause PSN to go down?
No, but Bungie did post the wrong finish time and didn't correct in until 2am GMT by which time I was in bed and reasonably so. To get on in time in the morning only to find I wasn't because Bungie -blam!-ed up and to not receive my rank 5 packages a result is frustrating and annoying and demonstrates to me again that Bungie is so inconsiderate of its customers outside of the USA that there is indeed an institutionalised racism within Bungie HQ. The corrected post didn't even have an apology attached to it.

  • You should know by now when IB ends. Also, racism indicates hate or discrimination against a person based on their race. Last time I checked, timezones are not a race. Bungie is an American company and they use American timezones.

  • Their blatant disregard and ill treatment of customers outside the USA suggests more than that, we paid more for DLC than the exchange rate suggests, we are not worth of even an apology when they make an error and as for knowing when IB ends, I did know, because Bungie posted it as 1am PST. Why would I expect that to be wrong?

  • You should know when it ends by now without bungie telling you. Grow up

Because their game forces us to use a system that failed. I'm not suggesting that they should be 100% responsible for the PSN downtime, but they should've extended Iron Banner or provided some other recompense for the time we couldn't access Iron Banner. If your product relies on a third party, and that third party fails and affects your product then surely you are partly accountable to your customers because your product is not functioning as advertised.

  • Now if it was an event that occurred on a single day, I would agree. But people had all week to do IB. I understand that during the holidays people don't play much to be with family, and with that why do you even care? One missed IB is not the end of the world

  • At the same time I see where your coming from, when you account for the bonuses you get once completing a character along with the bonuses you get the later I. The week t is a lot of people like to do ib on Mondays and Tuesday's mornings because you rank up stupid fast

  • Then it's the players fault for waiting. They know the risks.

  • They know the risks??? What are the risks lmao there is no warning on the side of the box that there third party people might be offline with no warning lol That was really not a good argument or anything though.

  • Also, bungie isn't responsible for PSN or Xbox live. They don't have to do everything

  • First off, by now people should know when IB ends, but apparently that's too much to ask for. As for the risks, they risk not getting the loot they want and get the rank and packages they want. They also risk the game servers, hosts, and services being down. They had the entire week to play. If you wait till the last second to do everything it's your fault if you miss out or something happens

  • You literally are stretching to come up with a defense for no one that cares about you lol because your defending bungie and Sony. Bungie has proven time and again they are in it for money not customer satisfaction. Sony didn't even apologize for the disruption except to try and say it was server maintenance, which if that was the case they should have given a warning or at least a email out. I said i saw it from both sides I wasn't hating on anyone or saying anyone was wrong or right. But since you've went there, those players that you speak of that took these huge "risks" know when it's over and they when they needed to have their stuff done. That's why they were irritated when they tried to log on and couldn't. And it was down all day almost. Shit happens man why you so mad lol. Maybe some people don't have your open schedule! I'm done later pumpkin.

  • Not mad at all bro. Try checking player facts before you rage post. I couldn't care less if PSN was down. Hell, it can stay down for all I care. It's when people think that bungie has to be responsible for things out of their control is when I get pissed

So you'd agree if YOU hadn't had time enough to do what you needed to do? I'm not saying it's the end of the world, and if you don't care, that's your choice. But you cared enough to post on the topic. The simple fact is people did not have 'all week' to do Iron Banner, the advertised time was reduced by downtime, and then incorrect information made the issue worse. Whether the event is a day long or a week long is irrelevant, if the only time you had available to play was Monday then you would have missed the opportunity to play, which is not fair on all players. I'm not weeping into my hands because I didn't get a 314 ghost, but it's irritating to have spent time ranking a character up and then not be able to finish it. I value my time and don't appreciate it when it feels wasted.
