"One thing I will say to hopefully try [to] dispel a lot of the hype/rumor mill about snipers and aim assist that's going on right now, is I will say that 1000 Yard Stare, the sniper that everyone is running, is, [from] data that I looked at this morning that is the most current--[the] 1000 Yard Stare is flat smack in the middle, so, it's not making you any better, it's not making you any worse, it's pretty much right on the 1.0 k/d line. It's easy to get, lots of people have it, but as far as this whole thing of like: 'yeah it's got this insane aim assist that is magically bending bullets into people's faces; regardless of anyone's anecdotal experience of being shot in the face with 1000 yard stare, the data is showing it as a very flat weapon.'"

1 RespuestaYeah, it's just because it's one of what 3 snipers that can res snipe? I maybe wrong on that but it's certainly easiest to get . There is a lot of snipers at the moment but I don't feel there camping. I'm getting body shotted then one shotted with a primary after , a lot . Smart play I suppose . I just prefer running a sidearm , more fun for me . I like pvp at the moment . Primaries feel pretty balanced , shottys are still ok, Gotta be real close though , so got to adjust your style . Hence I prefer sidearms . Fusions need a buff though , they need to be the medium range special of choice . Would stop a lot of people sniping

Regardless of Perks, aim assist or whatever, I will use whatever sniper can hit off revives. It's the only reason I use 1k stare.

16 RespuestasIf 900/1000 people are using the 1000 yard stare, the average is going to be around 1 because of the consistent use over time. Bad kids drop the kda, good kids raise it. Someone going 10-1 with it (harder to do) will need a 1-10 to balance it (which is way easier and more common). To me, the problem is there's hardly any alternative now. Bungie listened when everyone complained about the overuse of Felwinters/Party Crasher/Matador because supposedly "everyone" used them and you needed to use them to compete. So what's the difference now but with 1000 yard stare and other high AA snipers? Why aren't they nerfed to allow more variety? If shot package was OP to most people because it made other shotguns/fusion rifles obsolete, why is the ability to highly increase accuracy/headshots that's inherent to a very common gun not OP as well? 9 times outta 10 someone's using it to combat someone else using it, like the high range shotguns.

I like their input on fusions

28 RespuestasEditado por Gzus: 12/24/2015 6:22:13 AMI mean quite literally a higher aim Assist will make it easier and give an advantage to a player in a fire fight. In terms of 1hit kill or two hit kill weapons aim assist makes all the difference. The quicker you can get it on target, the quicker you can fire. The quicker you can fire the more likely you win that fight. Obviously becAuse of the massive aim assist and ease of access and default great perks the 1000yard is being used by every player, not just the good players but also the absolutely horrid and those numbers will generally balance out but they shouldn't here because of the volume. Now in terms that means a good player is great, a shitty player is worse because he can't match the reaction time of the good player or the great player even with the help in moving the reticle by the assist. With everyone having this it should be around a .8 because as we all know from doing averages in school those absolutely horrible .1 kd players will drag your 10kd players average down by a ton. The fact that the worst players in the game are running this weapon and the average remains at 1 is mind boggling. The simple fact is if these guys think a 1kd on a sniper primary(secondary but never used as such) on small maps by the sheer number of people using it and differentiating skill levels that should inevitably be brought down below a 1 by the worst averages tells me that 1. They've never taken a statistics class 2. They've don't understand psychology 3. They don't understand how aim assist benefits the user or how adding mass aim assist to someone with fast reflexes essentially guarentees their victory and relieves the skill involved on the other half of the game of which is main thing your reticle on target while also utilizing the reflexes to kill said target quicker. Aim assist is destroying the skill cap of shooters and it sucks. So few games let you turn it off these days and for some reason they called people good at utilizing it "pro". I wouldn't dare call someone who didn't work to become a scout sniper a scout sniper would I? No. Then I'm not calling someone that didn't have to do the work to get the kill a pro either. Eirene is a good shield because of its lower aim assist and anyone that kills me with it I applaud because of that. I can beat 1000 yards with my eirene simply because I'm faster. It takes me longer to get my scope on their skull but I fire faster and that makes all the difference unless I'm facing off against someone else that's as fast as I am. In which case I lose because they can get theirs on target and therefore fire before me. This whole argument on aim assist can be summed up by using two clones. Both have the same everything but one is getting help to aim his weapon quicker. They turn and one has to move his pistol up and adjust to get the kill shot, the other only has to move his to kill shot level and the weapon adjust at the same time. So the first clone has to take two steps for the same result as the second's single step process, but since they're identical in every way the clone with a single step faster process kills the other equally skilled in every single way clone. It's unfair, is it not? and doesn't actually exist in the real world and don't used to in games either. In tournaments you used to have to be more skilled than the enemy, but now you just need to have a better aim assist (in destiny at least) and that's where this game fails. An aim assist perk? I suppose that's fine, but the aim assist defaults should be low or non existent on all weapons with perks as the options to use for players with ordinarily bad aim to help them. This developer that claims it's balanced is also part of the group that created the various meta's claiming for months at a time they were balanced while destroying other weapons claiming those too we're balanced. If that doesn't scream "fire me, I don't understand how my job works", then I don't know what does.

9 RespuestasAnd yet 20% of people in trials use this one gun. That is nowhere near flat, that is an extreme abnormality. This percent may even be higher than the thorn in previous metas.

Its funny how many people in this thread claim to know better about how the game mechanics function than the actual designers of those functions. Ive used snipers almost exclusively since I started playing and I havent noticed any real difference.

17 RespuestasLol keep at it desticles... snipers and scouts have been the only unchanging monolith in the meta evolution and if people keep bitching and making up shit like curving bullets they will get nerfed to shit too and then what will we play with?

I listened to this podcast a couple days ago and i loved what sage and jon were saying, they went into detail about how fusion rifles worked, how 1000 yard stare is not op, and how we all need to start using other weapons because there are a few hidden gems out there

Snipers ease of use is the issue. Not 1kys. It's just the most common.
