Is it possible to get an exotic engram without dropping a 3 of coin?
Everything I've read says TOC's merely increase your chances for an exotic drop. That implies there's a base chance that's always present for an exotic to drop. Is the RNG % greater depending on the enemy? event? game mode, etc? Or, is there a chance for an exotic to drop from killing the weakest of minions? I've never experience or seen other's experience a random drop being an exotic without a TOC, so what's the truth on this?
Edit 1: From the responses I've seen so far, it sounds like there's the tiniest chance for such a thing to happen. It reminds me of Dumb and Dumber, "One in a hundred?" "No, more like one in a million." "So, you're saying there's a chance!"
Edit 2: There's been a lot of legitimate requests for proof that exotic engrams can drop without a ToC. I have a piece of advice when/if one drops:
1 - Immediately go to the Cryptarch and decode the engram, so it clearly shows an exotic was received, then immediately hit your share button. This will then preserve the last 15 minutes of gameplay, so the drop is shown in context. Hopefully, it'll also capture you accessing your inventory, so everyone can see you did NOT have a ToC activated prior to the drop. This should be definitive proof for anyone to accept.

Actually it says you have a chance to get an exotic to drop, not increase the chances.

(Before I got into raiding and crucible) Seem to recall one dropping from a level 6-ish drew on patrol in archer's line. Was kinda shocked. Also seen quite a few purples decrypt into yellow, but that wasn't your question. EDIT: So no yellows in Y1. Honestly don't remember what dropped when. I was getting exotics before I really knew what they were.

Yes but not from a drop. A Legendary can and does decrypt to an exotic but my estimate is about 1 in 100.

No exotic engram dropped before y2, weapons did in crucible/nightfall but nowhere else

Ive never EVER had an exotic drop directly from a major or ultra or anything lower unless i had a 3 of coins active. Thats bot RNG at all

Its entirely possible to get an exotic at the end of a strike or Crucible match however the chances are low. 3oC significantly improves your chances though.

I don't have proof, but I had a Special Weapon exotic engram drop with no 3oC one time after killing a Taken Zealot near the Ember Caves on Venus. It decrypted into a Fourth Hoursman, and it's never happened since.
