The reason I'm making this poll is to find out how many people are in the same boat as I.
I'm 25 now and over the course of the past 6 years I've had a total of 8 jobs. The longest employment being just over a year and that was when I was 19.
Since that, every job after has been a slow decline in time spent there. Just recently I got myself a new job and after 1 night rang them up and said "I'm sorry but this jobs just not for me, you're all lovely people but i need something more fulfilling" The guy was so upset, he really liked me and wanted me to give it another chance and I felt so guilty. But If I don't like the job, unlike most others I won't even attempt to stick it out. Why would I? Like everything in life, if you don't enjoy something, you don't do it right? So why should a job be any different.
I keep thinking that one day I'm going to find the perfect job, where I'm happy and wake up smiling and not the opposite of staying up as late as possible watching the clock, dreading the next day.
Is there something mentally wrong with me? I feel as though there is, watching friends get on with life doing jobs they don't enjoy but they deal with it and here I am writing a post on Bungie.net... I want to work, I want it so bad or else I wouldn't even apply for jobs. My interview success rate is 100% 8 interviews 8 jobs, so I'm obviously doing something right at least.
Am I the only one who feels this way though? Is there anyone on here who's felt like this at some point in their life and got past it? I'm scared to think about the future, all I see is myself homeless and on the street because I'd rather have no money and be happy than work and be filled with dread and anxiety.
Leave a comment on how your work life is going, love it, hate it or don't even think about it? I want to know. :)

I rly dislike my job, cept on payday. It gives me a chanse to save up and atleast take me a little closer to the smaller dreams I have.

I hate(d) my job so much, but I liked most of the people I worked with so it was alright. Recently my position was downsized, but I was still going to be employed, just with a much smaller salary. And so I gave my two weeks notice. Hopefully I'll find something I actually enjoy.

I wish I had the luxury of walking out on a job I didn't like. Don't have enough savings after loaning my parents money so they didn't lose the house I grew up in and go into bankruptcy so I have to work now. Don't have any other options. Adult shit sucks. Thankfully, I enjoy my job for the most part. Some of the people suck but the work is something I care about (music) and my boss is awesome. Plus it pays decently.

1 RespuestaEditado por Cat Quiver: 12/16/2015 6:49:12 AMI'm 24 and I've had one job since I was 19. I was made a manager on my first anniversary and I'm about to have my fifth one. I don't hate my job per say, but the company. We got sold in my first year and it has just gotten worse and worse. What pisses me off is how the upper management put pressure on the middle and then them on us lower managers. Used to overtime was alright, now it's a bad word. They cut labour hours to where you can't even schedule a skeleton crew and then wonder why the -blam!- shit doesn't get done. I used to put in roughly ten hours off the clock a week after my promotion. I didn't mind doing and my boss at the time was grooming me to become his co manager(salaried, bigger bonuses, etc..) And then he got a new boss who canned him and I got -blam!-ed out of that. That boss eventually got replaced and this new guy comes in and offers me a lateral promotion to another location that's a two hour roundtrip for a -blam!-ing $1 an hour raise. -blam!- that. Basically I'm sort of stuck. I make pretty decent money especially for my age but I didn't go to college and missed out on a position that would have looked fantastic on my résumé. And especially with my new family I can't just quit. So I'm basically waiting to find something that pays about the same. I used to be all about my job and on top of working off the clock I would take my paperwork home with me. And for awhile I did my boss's paperwork at home. Now when I leave I'm done. If I'm off don't call unless someone is -blam!-ing dying.

I'm 19 and I work in retail as well as go to college full time. I've been at my job since August and I'm about to be an assistant store manager. I like my job, and my only complaints are that the pay and hours could be better and it gets really boring at night

I'm a landscaper, so I'm just focusing on school for the season, but I work the spring to the fall. The work is relatively easy and the pay is good so I'd say it's a pretty good job for the time being

3 RespuestasEditado por Bitter Mercy: 12/15/2015 8:36:22 PMI'm 21, I'm an anti-social individual and I work in a Call Centre environment. I can't stand it and dread each day, but, my family also works here, which prevents me from even leaving, because I'll never hear the end of it. I can't stand this, any advice?
I should also add, I'm current living with my parents, I pay them rent(which is like 800-1,000 CAD) equals out to average rent, I've tried searching for another job, but, there's nothing currently around that I'm either qualified for or is seasonal work.
1 RespuestaYou sound like a blood-sucking liberal. Get a job and keep it and stop living off the tax payer. You probably don't have any bills to pay living in your parents basement tho, that might be it

3 RespuestasI've been working as a Literacy Teacher at an Elementary school for the past 3 years. I can't say I love my job but I can't say I hate it. My experiences with many students and staff have been great but I find myself doing the same thing as you: dreading the next day. The pay is decent, I work Mon-Friday, I'm off Holidays, Winter Break and summer. People say I have the perfect job since I have lots of leisure time but I still feel empty. Photography is and has been a passion of mine. That'll probably be my next move.

Editado por afanoflafear: 12/15/2015 5:11:33 PMI work as a blind slater and I love it! The Production Co-Ordinator called me up last year about a vacant position he thought I might be suitable for. I got employed last year in mid August and oh boy did those 4 months just fly! It's something like having a fun job which makes me a ppreciate my life more because I don't know alot of people who can say the same thing. Every now and then I'll be tasked to do something different in the favtory of production in my section isn't busy and I don't like it because it's not as fun as what I sepcialize in. What I enjoy about slating blinds is you're ALWAYS busy, hands are constantly moving. When you have a job which puts you under pressure, the time just melts (not that I can't handle the pressure, I'm more than capable of meeting deadlines) Only way my life can be perfect now is if I find someone to play Halo 2 with again like we used to in 2005.

3 RespuestasWhat kind of jobs are you working? Is it just shitty retail and service jobs? Those things suck your soul. I love my job. Not only is it something that benefits my community, but something I really enjoy doing.
